The end of this year marks 10 whole years since blind auditions for season 4 were taped
Also the end of the year marks 9 years since the blinds for season 6 were taped
Such a trip. Danielle is almost 26

This early?
The first casting story actually said “do you want to be on Team Camila” before they then posted the casting datesSomething weird is going on. Because John and Blake are both touring this summer
Casting for this season did not start until September 21st 2021
Casting for season 21 didn’t even start until November 2020
So either we’re getting spring seasons back (YAY), we’re not starting until much later this year and we get a shorter season, or this was just an error

I think as a country singer it would be strategic to pick a non-Blake coach this season
1)With Kelly gone there’s about to be a lot more country competition on Team Blake. Easier to stand out
2) Also with Kelly gone the other coaches might try to “prove” they can take country singers far and work well with them in order to fill the role of Blake having someone to compete with for country singers.
Kinda like how John carried his first country artist all the way to the live shows. First with Marybeth (slightly country) then Bailey (very country)
Of course it all depends on what the artist wants from the show. If they don’t care about making it far then picking Blake would be best because then they still get the Nashville connections

I’ve got one.
TRIPLE-MONTAGING such artists.
I started watching The Voice myself at the very beginning of Season 16, and never before have I witnessed an artist being triple-montaged until this previous season, when I watched this happen to a friend of mine. Since he follows me on social media, B actually became one of my favorite artists from Season 21 after I watched his blind audition (which, sadly, was montaged), and I hoped and prayed that I would hear a performance of his in full in future rounds. But on the day his knockout aired and by the time he was eliminated, I eventually wound up crying during the rest of the episode, because I strongly hated to see artists that I like (and especially that I am friends with) have all their performances montaged. And since then, I have sworn never to witness another triple-montage on The Voice in future seasons since then. But still, I supported B post-show, regardless of the triple-montage scheme, since we are friends with each other on social media and he liked a cover of mine the next month. But nevertheless, triple-montaged artists are now my LEAST favorite part of The Voice, even if you are friends with an artist that then unfortunately ended up with it.
Berrit did not get fair treatment on the show, especially considering he ended up on the show because of Make-A-Wish. However, I would consider his knockout short-clipped rather than montaged. If you look at previous knockout montages he actually got off pretty good. And he got his story shown during his audition, better than nothing.
I will say though
There is benefit to being triple montaged. You instantly become memorable in Voice world. I feel like Katherine Ho/Berrit/ and to a lesser degree Rebekah all would've gotten forgotten about amongst all the contestants that come and go on the show. It's like they would've been lost in the shuffle, but they become known for being the few contestants in Voice history who got triple montaged. Multiple websites have even written articles about it.
It reflects poorly on the show, not the contestants who got montaged.

Thando has come a long way since Season 3, she seems a lot more confident (Also watching this back all these years later and it feels like a different show with all the new coaches, designs and formats lol)
I hope she wins on Sunday. Originally I was rooting for Lachie, but Thando has been more consistent and brings a fresh approach to songs. And this format does not leave much room for error and redemption.
I know its likely that neither of them win, but I'm glad they made it as far as they did.
Overall this is a good top 4. I just feel like this season (more than last season) there are too many artists we didn't get to hear enough of. Hopefully we'll get some returnees !!

Looking at the tour dates for the coaches and it looks like the latest thing is Blake performing out of the region on the 18th but he’s pretty clear after that. John seems to be on tour throughout Europe beginning July 6th.
So yeah, we seem to be safe with blind dates occurring towards the end of June.
Only confusion is I see is John starting his shows in Vegas August 6th but there aren’t significant enough gaps throughout August to allow for battles and KO’s. His gap is July 16-August 5
Maybe we’re getting battles/KO’s early this year.
Not to put this energy out there, but is it possible we’re getting a format change ?
Australia has drastically changed their format.
The Voice Kids Uk has changed their format. The Voice UK adults has not aired a new season yet (They randomly changed it to a summer show) but all articles coming out about it say there’s a “brand new format”. Apparently they’re doing their own version of “The Callbacks”
Since The Voice USA has changed the coaches and changed when they’re airing, it’s possible they’re also changing the format while they’re at it. You know how much they like their twists lol. Not saying it’ll be as reduced as TVAU but something to consider.

Contestants should start flying out in the next 2-3 weeks to start prepping for their auditions
-
I think this thread could apply to all those “coach comeback” artists where (in most cases) it was clear that the coach did not have any intention of keeping them before they even performed.
-
Many contestants hustle after the show to make a name for themselves. Some have achieved their version of success, others haven’t.
However, some artists aren’t pursing music anymore at all. I’ve listed several below to start
- Please make sure the contestant is actively pursuing another career. Not having released music does not count.
- Of course they can still sing as a hobbie but this thread highlights artists whose main hustle is no longer music
- There is nothing wrong with leaving music. Everyone has their own path it okay to do something else
Anyway
Tess Boyer
She has a family now. seems to keep her busy if you look at her social media, but she also does non-profit work now
This podcast here-explains that the music industry wasn’t really for her and that’s why she went offline
Around 28.15
https://open.spotify.com/episode/1IoNqBbf3i0H2JxCPstQ63?si=RdA6FT6OQuiN2BgWnAtx8w
It’s called Outside The Law Podcast:Tess-tify.
Several other interesting things she revealed
-She wanted to sing Bound To You by Christina Aguilera for her audition but the people at casting told her not to because “no one knows that song”
-She didn’t pick Adam when she got stolen because he “already had a star female singer” (Likely Christina)
-She wanted to be a country singer on the show but mainly did pop
Bria Kelly
Her music page hasn’t had any activity since 2017, this does not necessarily mean anything but on her Instagram bio it says she’s now working as a graphic designer
Nathan Hermida
I’ve heard absolutely nothing about him since the show so I did a google search- and according to his LinkedIn page he’s a biology teacher now
https://www.linkedin.com › nathanh...Nathan Hermida - 9th Grade Biology Teacher - LinkedIn
Sylvia Yacoub
I know an article about her and she’s doing some cool things. I looked it up and she’s actually done work for The Obama Foundation and as well as The US Department Of State. I do think she’s still sings a little
Ellie Lawrence
Also has a family now. She’s about to have her 3 child. A while back when her audition got reposted for The Voice 10 year-she said she only sings in church now and hasn’t done a show in 4 years. She’s been staying out of the public eye and seems immersed in her family !
Other than that I think Bryana Salaz is mainly doing acting now but I feel like she’s still involved with music. And I also think Mari is a graphic designer now but I can’t find her social media anymore so I can’t confirm
Feel free to add yours !

Yes
Also I forgot about Reds knockout "Outskirts Of Heaven" which was beautiful. Noah still should've had that final spot but Red had several great(underrated) moments that season

as an Ariana fan i agree she had a bad team . Blake who i dislike had probably the best two singers on his team. hoping that Camila will do a better job in getting the more talented ones on her team.
I think artists were intimated by Ari. She’s so popular and I think contestants were questioning how involved she would be (which didn’t end up being a concern lol)
Kelly already had a good reputation as a coach so she got the better artists
Camila will have less competition for artists in her lane so I think she might get a better team
-
Wait the Liam vs Xanthe battle kind of ate

Another slightly interesting thing to note
Camila is the first coach to come from a girl group before solo success. I get that 5th Harmony wasn’t the happiest time for her
But I wonder if we’ll get more young female duos/trios
Also Gwen is from a band
So both coaches found success before becoming solo which is a first
Probably not gonna happen, but both of them know how to work with others and have that experience so it would be interesting to have more duos/trios (And of course full groups/bands but that would be unprecedented)

With Camila on board, I expect Gloria Estefan or Selena songs.
And who knows, she maybe could pull put some Celia Cruz.
Of course there are other options, but the first two are the ones that TPTB pulls out often.
Get On Your Feet moments all season

There are plenty of big songs that any singer can perform that fall outside the Whitney-Beyonce-Mariah triangle. I'd love to hear Faith sing something like Warrior, A Moment Like This, or even a rock ballad.
OR one of Adele’s less overdone songs. Maybe one from her new album
i just wish those songs were done more often
-
And within the span of 48 hours, this has become a non-minivan friendly season lol
I’m actually quite interested in Camila, I think she’s gonna change the dynamic this season and it’s going to be refreshing.

Great, and I suppose for the finals she'll sing I Have Nothing. Or maybe a Mariah Carey song. I love Faith but I wish big voice singers like her got less predictable songs.
I agree with this but I also agree with what @Skyfall said
Artists like Faith who are such incredible singers but it’s hard to get excited when there’s the same old tired songs. It also makes them sound less marketable
But from a reality TV perspective that’s what’s gonna get them far because the audience will like it
-
Jessie J may or may not be too far fetched for USA audience but she gave critique that both (very) honest and quite helpful on TVAU
At the 3.20 mark Jessie J telling Alfie to stop the humble gimmick
At the 2.36 mark Jessie J telling the Maddens that they made a bad song choice
At 3.42 mark Jessie J told Claire she didn't understand her voice and Ellen she undersang
I would love if this energy continued on the show I think it would be refreshing

Lachie had some nice moments this season but I do wish Thando won
Out of the finalists he is a bit more limited vocally
I do actually think he could be marketable with the right support so that’s something at least
I’m not sure how involved Rita’s going to be given her track record on The X Factor and TVUK. She also quite literally said
“I cannot wait to see where your career goes, you’ve forever got a fan in me”
Basically meaning-I think you’re great, good luck out there lol
Above everything, I wish they would do a live finale. If they have to cut the season back and rapidly cut artists fine I guess. But the final feels so anticlimactic, especially since the winner announcement isn’t even live
It shouldn’t be too much to ask to have 1 episode live
