Let's be honest. Paris wouldn't have made it that far had he not been on Blake's team. If he had stayed on John's team he would have been gone in the Semis. Both of them had a good run but a bad finale set in my opinion, but Jershika clearly has a better run because she was relying on her own, not by her coach's fanbase.

My favorite performance from Jershika is "God Only Knows" but it wasn't included in the voting list so I voted for her KO performance.

I LOVED Jershika's studio version of that performance. The runs were so intricate and beautiful, filled with emotion.

Let's be honest, the black women that the show has casted these last seasons were never potential winners. Kim Cruse was awesome, no doubt about that, but for some reason, she never connected with the public, which was unfortunate.

I've always wondered why she never hit with the public voting compared to past powerhouses. Ik they all get "screamer" comments but Kim was pretty low key in comparison to most powerhouses. Though ig that can also be a point against her.

After her, if we look at the "powerhouses", well, Cait flopped, Mannasseh flopped, Ms. Monet flopped, and Val...well, she didn't really flop but she was kind of meh and also got some bad luck. You can blame on song choices but i honestly feel none of these women are just not even near to the level of the likes of Sisaundra, Kimberly, Ali, Keisha, Kyla, Kymberli, Rose, Desz or Wendy. So, there is not surprise that they were eliminated before the lives

Idk if this is unpopular but I thought Cait had the potential to be on the level of those previous powerhouses you mentioned. Dare I say she was well on her way with her first 3 performances.

  3. 2 powerhouse singers that occupied different flavours of the RnB/Soul genre. Gave us one of the best KO matchups of all time, and both ended up making the finale. But who did you prefer?

Obviously I left of some performances. Did I get the best ones right? Feel free to rank the performances. Individually or together.

If you don't know her, she was a winner on the voice UK. Indie female singer and unsurprisingly, sounds like a few UK indie singers. Kinda London grammar esque.

I honestly didn´t expect John to last as long as he has on the show when he first came in. With S27, he will have been on 10 seasons, surpassing both Kelly and Gwen, and now being the 3rd longest serving coach behind Blake and Adam. And it doesn´t seem like he´s going anywhere, at least for now.

Yikes, makes his lack of wins all the more damning. Shame cause his teams are usually really good.

Well it's a competition, I'm sure they understand that some criticism is warranted. It's part of the deal/opportunity. We definitely don't need to act like Luke/Lionel/Katy on IDF, but there's also no need to be nasty towards anyone, and I'm saying this as a battle-hardened fanwar veteran from IDF's glory years. :haha:

Tbh our criticisms are generally much harsher than the judging panel these days. We're closer to Simon Cowell :haha:. (Live discussions anyways)

And I can't blame Kayko for calling us out.  The majority of a forum not only didn't like his  performances, but also his originals. Must really sting. But as you said, it's also an inevitable part of becoming an artist unfortunately. At least the AI subreddit loved him though lol.

I wish we had a full list of contestants who've posted on here. Aside from Mia, the only usernames I know for sure are Jordin Sparks and Syesha Mercado.

There's been quite a few voice contestants that have come on here just over the past few years which is what I was referring to. I wasn't aware old Idol contestants were visiting this place. That's really cool, especially considering how popular the show was back then, I bet the site was really active too.

Yeah, everyone was nice to her. if anything, her posting made people like her more. :haha:

Huge respect to Mia. Was very nice, definitely up there with the most interactions a contestant has had with IDF. Also didn't get defensive over some criticisms. Not that anyone was particularly harsh, but I've seen contestants react badly over pretty minor stuff. I get it sucks being received poorly though.

  8. my mom only watched seasons 7, 8 and 11 in full. All her favourites came in 2nd place and she never watched the show again.  :haha:

I actually like Phillip's voice. He happened to be performing live in one of the events I attended and he sounded pretty good.  his originals that I'd hear on the radio werent half bad either. But yeah. I would have much preferred Joshua or Jessica to take the win. Both of whom were leagues above the rest of the cast that season.

  9. Any of the younger contestants from older seasons of the voice.

Not only would we see how their voice has changed over the years, but they also have an opportunity to perform their original music. Addison Agen fits that mold perfectly.

Some of the late 20s Voice contestants that could show off their artistry or original music would be cool to see as well. Zan Fiskum, Thunderstorm Artis, etc.

Her cover of "Mad World" is better than Adam Lambert's :stealth:

I really like both versions but can't disagree (even though I prefer Adam as a singer). Maelyn is just made for those types of songs

Always thought that performance was a tad overrated anyways. People acted like it was his best but not to me. Funnily enough, a few of his more controversial performances ended up being some of my favourites from him "Ring of fire" being the prime example.

I swear I am willing to defend Bryce any day of the week but Tanner GOAMS (not even go-mez 🤢)? Hell nahhhhh

Damn, hating on last names now?  :haha:

This irrational hatred has gone too far my friend.

Also, even you got to admit Tanner's KO>that lifeless version of colder weather

I have ALWAYS had an irrational hatred for this performance from when it was first leaked 😭

You and the majority of this forum (towards Tanner in general) 😭

I do find it funny though how Tanner is so disliked for someone that didn't even eliminate any favourites or make it that far. Imagine how worse it would be if either of those things happened :haha:

  13. I rewatched S22 performances. Imo it's the 2nd best post covid season after S21. Yes, the SF and finale results were tragic. But Morgan, Bodie, Kim, Omar, Kique and Devix were the best combination of technical excellence and/or uniqueness we've had in the live shows in a long time.

  14. 1. I can't even pick best performance between the two. With Ali it's No Ordinary Love and times have changed. And Border Song and big white room for Rose.

    2. Love both voices obviously. But there's an emotional depth to Rose's voice that I've never seen from Ali..

that being said, im not sure that should count towards "favourite voice" since presumably we're taking about tone here "Emotional" is not really the tone of the voice itself, idk.

That said, Ali is clearly the better vocalist imo. There's a 5th octave belting range video on female voice contestants and she was the only one to hit every note.

    3. This is the only clear cut answers. It's rose and most of that has to do with song choice imo.
