  1. Heidi Groskreutz-Burns
    IPB Image
In honour of Tr*mp’s impeachment, I’m cutting Noted Republican™, Heidi Groskreutz-Burns. As we all know, Heidi was a ballroom dancer that made it to 4th place on the show’s second season, despite far more talented female contestants that season (notably Allison and Natalie). From the beginning, she was partnered with hip-hop dancer Ryan Rankine. The pair danced a five mostly lackluster routines together before the Top 10 and found themselves in the bottom group twice (Top 18 and Top 14) but were saved both times. Honestly, the semi finals in Season 2 were kind of hit or miss so I wasn’t surprised they made the Top 10. It was what happened after that that made me dislike Heidi. At the Top 10, the dancers swapped partners and Heidi ended up dancing a Paso and “Calling You” (“The Bench” routine) with Travis. The judges praised (and continue to praise) Calling You as one of the best routines the show has ever had. I’ll agree that Mia’s choreography was beautiful and that Travis danced it beautifully and gave an extremely emotional performance but I felt nothing from Heidi. If this is her “best” routine, then it truly wasn’t all that great for her. She danced some good routines with Benji the next week but it truly felt like the popularity of that one routine and the fact that she danced with either Benji or Travis (the eventual Top 2) the rest of the season that carried her into the finale over great talents. That, combined with her affiliation for white supremacists is why I feel no guilt in cutting her here.

Save: Kameron Bink who I always forget is a hip hop dancer.
  2. Bianca Revels
    IPB Image
Bianca Revels was a tap dancer on the sixth season of the show. She was eliminated at the Top 18 along with fellow tapper, Phillip Attmore. In the showcase, she danced a tap number with Phillip and Peter Sabasino, the other tapper that season. It was fine but it was fairly clear the were all fodder despite Nigel insisting the show needed tap dancers. In Week 2, she was paired with Victor Smalley and they danced a Travis Wall contemporary routine. This was when Travis’s choreography was still new to the audience so they were safe despite it being a somewhat middle of the road routine that night. In Week 2, her and Victor danced a Tyce Diorio Broadway routine that saw them land in the bottom three and send Bianca home. I remember not really being surprised she went home since she seemed somewhat limited outside of her style but I don’t dislike her by any means, I just see her as someone who was eliminated early and so this is a good spot for her to go.

  3. Nathan Trasoras
    IPB Image

Nathan was a contemporary dancer on the show's sixth season. He was partnered with Mollee Gray at the top 20 and it says it all that he was arguably worse than her in that partnership. They somehow both made the Top 10 (Mollee to the Top 8) in a season with far more talented people than them. I feel like it was because they were the young contemporary dancers that the judges just ate up for some reason before realizing that they couldn't dance outside of their style, let alone inside of it. In the showcase, Nathan was part of a Tyce Diorio Contemporary routine to kd lang's "Crying" with Channing, Ariana and Jakob. He was far too straight to be in that routine, but somehow survived.

In Week 2, he and Mollee danced an atrocious Disco, but they were the last dance of the night so, once again, they were safe. By that point, most of us thought that their Disco might have just been an off night for both of them, but then in Week 3, they danced a Bollywood that can only be described as a mess. Truly one of the worst Bollywood routines the show has ever seen. Right up there with Sophie and Bailey's creepy Bollywood this past season. As if it couldn't get any worse, in Week 4 they danced a Salsa that neither of them were qualified to dance and yet, somehow, they weren't even in the bottom after it! By this point, I wondered what was going on and if the judges were deliberately trying to bus them to get rid of them, but it wasn't working. The voters continued to put them through. The power of the tweens was too strong.

Finally, at the Top 14, they danced a Pop-Jazz as the final routine of the night that landed them in the Bottom 3 but somehow. SOMEHOW. The judges chose to eliminate Channing and Kevin instead. Again, what? Channing and Kevin had both had far better routines up to that point and more experience as dancers but, sure, eliminate them instead. So then we were subject to another week of both of them and, arguably, two of their worst routines. A hip-hop to the Black Eyed Peas "Ring-a-Ling" and a frickin' Can-Can. If you haven't watched it since it aired, and I don't blame you, that Can-Can stands the test of time as one of the worst routines to ever be on the show. Right up there with Sushi.

And yet... both of them survived another night and instead, Victor and Karen went home which... again, they both had better routines than them up to that point so I'm not sure what the judges were trying to pull. Finally, at the Top 10, Nathan went home, but not before dragging Kathryn into the Bottom 4 with him after an extremely awkward Rumba on his part, since he has all the s*x appeal of a slab of butter. The one redeeming quality of that final week of his was that we got to see Kathryn dance a Spencer Liff broadway to "Choreography" from White Christmas, so I'll end this otherwise scathing write-up on a high note and say "good riddance" to finally getting rid of Nathan in this rankdown. I'll also add that I actually think him and Mollee had the potential to be good, they just should have been told to audition again in a year or two.

  5. I'm no fan of season 16 but Benjamin is by far my favorite from that atrocious season. Along Bailey he was definitely the most versatile

Lbr, all the men minus Eddie > all the women that season. I also liked Benji.

  6. Hahahaha once I was told my immunity picks were already taken, I was like... "who do I know that IDF hates that definitely won't already be picked... SABRA AND MELANIE" And I am happy to give those winners some dignity in the early rounds before they get torn to shreds later.

Damn, I've been saving Derek, Heidi, Melanie... guys I promise I'm cool :'( :haha:

The funny thing is that a few of the rankers like Melanie, so she'd probably be safe for a bit anyway :haha:

  7. WHO THE HELL WAS I SUPPOSE TO SAVE LOL THAT WHOLE LIST IS TRASH? I just went with the one I found pretty to look at. :)

I mean, Kida is a legitimate good, well-respected dancer that deserved his win but go off :*

  8. Wow, it just got real up in here.

Not really. Most of the forum hates the mediocre white male contemporary dancer trio (Derek/Casey/Tucker) and Zack Everhart is a major Republican so he's an easy nomination/cut.

  9. Derek Piquette
    IPB Image

Derek was a contemporary dancer that SOMEHOW made it to the Top 8 in Season 12's Stage vs. Street format. Wait, I know how he made it. He was friends with Maddie Ziegler and she kept posting for people to vote for him (remember this season had a Twitter Save) so they did, but truly, Derek was one of the most mediocre white male contemporary dancers the show has ever had and how he made it to the Top 8 during an otherwise decent season is beyond me.

The worst part is he actually got good routines, but he was always SO boring in them and his partners always outshone him. In Week 1, he and Moises danced a Stacey Tookey contemporary routine with Gaby. She was great and they were both in the bottom, but the judges cut Darion instead. In Week 2, he danced a Ray Leeper Jazz routine to Michael Bublé with Ariana Crowder. Again, she was decent and he was just there. Week 3 was more of the same in ANOTHER Stacey Tookey contemporary with Alexia and Jaja. The girls were good and he faded into the background.

During Week 4, he injured himself so JJ danced her Tango with Leonardo and honestly, that was the best part about his run because at least he didn't drag JJ down and we got to see her shine in an amazing ballroom routine. He was automatically in the bottom the next week but was somehow saved after his Dave Scott hip-hop with Megz to Fifth Harmony's "Worth It" (I cringe just remembering how bad he was in this routine and how good Megz was). His finale routine (bless) was a Jazz with Kayla Radomski as an all-star. I don't even like Kayla and I still thought she deserved better than him because she and this routine were great.

All-in-all, he danced outside of his style ONCE and was still somehow terrible boring every week, but because Season 12 had that dreaded Twitter Save and Maddie Ziegler kept tweeting for people to vote for him, we were stuck with him week after week. Honestly, I don't even care what Derek's been doing since the show. I know he's gotten engaged and is still dancing and was even on World of Dance Season 3, but truly, who cares? I just never want to see him on my TV screen again.

  10. Jamie Bayard
    IPB Image

Jamie was a swing dancer that was eliminated during the first week in Season 4. I wanted to like him, because he was the same style as Benji and Lacey who had a lot of success on the show in the two seasons prior, but he definitely didn't have the same stage presence as the two of them. His first and only routine was a Nappytabs hip-hop with his partner, Rayven Armijo (who I also eliminated and basically copied her write-up for this). The routine was to Estelle & Kayne West's "American Boy" and the two of them went first that night, kicking off the season. It was clear they were destined to be fodder and, sure enough, they landed in the Bottom 3 the next night. Jamie danced a Samba solo but it wasn't enough to save her next to Will Wingfield and Matt Dorame and he was eliminated.

  11. Rayven Armijo
    IPB Image

Rayven was a ballet dancer that was eliminated during the first week in Season 4. I wanted to like her, because I tend to gravitate towards ballet dancers on the show, and while she seemed like a nice person, her run on the show was short and not that sweet. Her first and only routine was a Nappytabs hip-hop with her partner, Jamie Bayard. The routine was to Estelle & Kayne West's "American Boy" and the two of them went first that night, kicking off the season. It was clear they were destined to be fodder and, sure enough, they landed in the Bottom 3 the next night. Rayven danced a ballet solo to Alicia Keys' "As I Am" but it wasn't enough to save her next to Kourtni Lind and Jessica King and she was eliminated. Since 2008, when Season 4 aired, Rayven has been working at her mother's dance studio in La Puenta, California. A quick google search shows that her mother passed away in October of this year, so hopefully she's doing well and honouring her mother's legacy through the dance school.

  12. Asaf Goren
    IPB Image
Asaf is hot and all, but like probably one of the worst dancers to ever make it on the show. He was basically an alternate on the "Street" team during the show's 12th season and as much as that season turned out all right, by modern season standards, he really dragged the first few weeks (and his partners) down. In the showcase, he danced a hip-hop with the other hip-hop dancers, Burim, Lily and Jaja. All three of them were better than him in that routine. In Week 2, he danced a broadway with Kate and Neptune to "All About That Bass" by Satan Herself, Meghan Trainor. I hate that song but I didn't mind the routine because I like Spencer Liff's choreography (and his body :ice cream:) but Asaf was not good in that routine either. He then danced a Jean-Marc Genereux "Club Cha-cha" which was truly tragic. Poor Marissa was stuck with him and both of them were eliminated. Because he overstayed his welcome and had a string of three routines in which he was the worst part of them, he absolutely deserves to go first and honestly, didn't even deserve to make that Top 20. He's just hot. Nowadays, he's modelling and on a bunch of reality shows so, good for him. Capitalizing on his looks.

  13. Sheadan Gabriel
    IPB Image
Sheadan was chosen by Season 4 alum Joshua Allen as his partner in Season 13, so dubbed “The Next Generation”. Sheadan was a hip-hop dancing, so the pairing seemed natural but when Joshua was accused of domestic abuse, he was removed from the season and replaced with Marko. In the two weeks Sheadan was on the show, he danced two hip hop routines with Marko and a cha-cha with Daniela (Jonathan Platero’s partner). I cut Sheadan because I truly have no strong feelings for him. The only routine of his I remember was his second hip hop to Treasure by Bruno Mars, but I was fine with him being eliminated when he was. That being said, I felt like if he waited a few years and auditioned for a regular season he might have been good since he was a lot like Gev, Legacy or the most recent winner, Bailey.
