Distorting contestants' scores in 2011 and 2012 to make sense

Recommended Posts

The contestant that got eliminated each week wasn't always the contestant that got the lowest score from the judges.

So, this is my attempt to match up with it, so the eliminated couples got the lowest scores, reasonably.

The seasons from 2011 are 12 and 13, and from 2012 are 14 and 15.

Season 12:

Kirstie was old and managed to finish second despite rather low scores. Wendy was also pretty old as well as humorous. +1 per judge applies for both of them per dance.

Week 1:

Kirstie & Maks - 23+3=26

Wendy & Tony - 14+3=17

Week 2:

Kirstie & Maks - 20+3=23 (NEW TOTAL: 49)

Wendy & Tony - 17+3=20 (NEW TOTAL: 37)

Week 3:

Kirstie & Maks - 21+3=24

Wendy & Tony - 15+3=18

Week 4:

Kirstie & Maks - 22+3=25

Kendra & Louis - 18+3=21

The viewers must have given Kendra slack as the dance was one of the least compatible with her.

Week 5:

Kirstie & Maks - 23+3=26

Week 6:

Kirstie & Maks - 26+3=29

Week 7:

Kirstie & Maks - 60+9=69

Kendra & Louis - 61-4=57

Couples tend to be eliminated after performing seemingly negative dances despite not landing at the bottom. Kendra must have gotten unlucky with the song choice. Kirstie & Maks got that extra point to fill in for Len's 6.

Week 8:

Kirstie & Maks - 53+6=59

Ralph & Karina - 46+6=52

Ralph's six-point boost comes from his leg injury.

Week 9:

Hines & Kym - 60+6=66

Kirstie & Maks - 54+6=60

Ralph & Karina - 48+3=51

Ralph's knee apparently remained sore. Meanwhile, Kym suffered a neck injury.

Week 10:

Hines & Kym - 89+5=94

Kirstie & Maks - 84+9=93

Kirstie was 60 years old, however, she finished ahead of Chelsea & Mark and below Hines & Kym, despite the neck injury occurring the previous week and not this week. So, I suppose Hines & Kym would get half the bonus points.

Season 13:

Week 1:

+3 boosts per dance go to Nancy Grace, the oldest competitor this season; Chaz Bono, another pretty old transgender contestant; and J.R. Martinez, an army veteran who lost nearly half his skin less than 10 years earlier. Carson Kressley was another old competitor that seemed to attract viewers well.

J.R. & Karina - 22+3=25

Chaz & Lacey - 17+3=20
Carson & Anna - 17+3=20

Nancy & Tristan - 16+3=19

Carson & Anna actually get +3 this week. His dance would get the encore of the week and even basically be replicated two seasons later.

Week 2:

J.R. & Karina - 22+5=27

Nancy & Tristan - 21+3=24

Chaz & Lacey - 17+5=22

Carson & Anna - 18+2=20

Elisabetta & Val - 21-3=18

The female-born couple got a +5 point boost because Chaz's legs seemed to have health problems. I also think Elisabetta was eliminated because she didn't seem to want to do this anymore. J.R. also got 7s from breaking rules that the viewers don't seem to have cared about.

Week 3:

J.R. & Karina - 26+3=29

Ricki & Derek - 27-2=25

Chynna & Tony - 26-1=25

Nancy & Tristan - 21+3=24

Carson & Anna - 23+1=24

Kristin & Mark - 24-3=21

Chaz & Lacey - 18+3=21

Some points were subtracted because some stories seemed less memorable than others.

Week 4:

J.R. & Karina - 28+3=31

Nancy & Tristan - 21+3=24

Chaz & Lacey - 21+3=24

Carson & Anna - 20+2=22

Carson & Anna apparently "narrowly" made it past this week.

Week 5:

J.R. & Karina - 28+3=31

Nancy & Tristan - 22+3=25

Chaz & Lacey - 21+3=24

Carson & Anna - 19+2=21
Week 6:

J.R. & Karina - 29+3=32

Nancy & Tristan - 24+3=27

Chaz somehow got eliminated over Hope, possibly because of Chaz's routine being more difficult or seeming too dark.

Week 7:

J.R. & Karina - 48+6=54

Nancy & Tristan - 44+6=50

Week 8:

J.R. & Karina - 60+6=66

Nancy & Tristan - 44+3=47

Nancy & Tristan only got +3 because of their first dance seeming negative and dark. Even if they retained +6, they would still be eliminated.

Week 9:

J.R. & Karina - 56+12=68

Hope & Maks - 49+3=52

J.R. & Karina's boost is +12, not +6, because of J.R.'s ankle injury. Hope seemingly had a health issue as well, but that isn't enough to even get her near the finals.

Week 10:

J.R. & Karina - 82+18=100

Ricki & Derek - 84+9=75

Ricki & Derek finished third because their freestyle didn't manage to get any 10s.

J.R. & Karina - 112+24=136

J.R. & Karina's boost is even higher because he apparently won with 9 million votes, which is millions more than Rob & Cheryl's vote total.

Season 14:

The old contestants that get +3 boosts every dance are Sherri Shepherd, Gladys Knight, and Melissa Gilbert. And for some reason, the viewers were so mean to Roshon Fegan. So by default, he'll get a -3 every dance.

Week 1:

Sherri & Val - 23+3=26

Gladys & Tristan - 23+3=26

Melissa & Maks - 20+3=23

Roshon & Chelsie - 23-3=20

Week 2:

Sherri & Val - 23+3=26 (NEW TOTAL: 52)

Roshon & Chelsie - 26-3=23 (NEW TOTAL: 43)

Melissa & Maks - 20+3=23 (NEW TOTAL: 46)

Gladys & Tristan - 19+3=22 (NEW TOTAL: 48)

Week 3:

Sherri & Val - 24+3=27

Melissa & Maks - 24+3=27

William & Cheryl - 28-3=25

William & Cheryl could have been eliminated week 3 for the same reason as Kristin & Mark the previous season. Somehow, though, Roshon made it past this week, possibly because Michael Jackson is dead.

Week 4:

Melissa & Maks - 22+3=25

Gladys & Tristan - 20+3=23

Roshon & Chelsie - 26-5=21

Melissa did get an injury, but didn't I hear they were on track of being eliminated? That's why I only gave a +3 boost and not a +6. I actually remember thinking Roshon & Chelsie's song didn't seem to suit with rock. Sherri & Val also lose their boost because of Val being way too hard on Sherri. Val apologized, and he should've, because Sherri was crying and looking forward to next week, and had Val not been so strict, it probably would have happened. This was literally the couple's downfall.

Week 5:

Donald & Peta - 27+1=28

William & Cheryl - 29-3=26

Melissa & Maks - 21+5=26

Gladys & Tristan - 22+3=25

Roshon & Chelsie - 26-2=24

That +1 for Donald is to make up for Len's 8. William is indeed a latino, and his song choice was Buttons! Which is by The Pussycat Dolls, an American girl group which included Nicole Scherzinger, who won four seasons prior! Even as unbelievable as it sounds, Melissa & Maks gets the same score as William & Cheryl for the same reason why Hines & Kym won two ago. And Roshon & Chelsie somehow avoided the dance duel.

Week 6:

Melissa & Maks - 30+3=33

Gladys & Tristan - 24+3=27

Roshon & Chelsie - 28-3=25

Week 7:

Melissa & Maks - 47+6=53

Roshon & Chelsie - 52-6=46

Week 8:

Maria & Derek - 53+4=57

Melissa & Maks - 51+3=54

Roshon & Chelsie - 56-6=50

Somehow, Maria & Derek made it past the quarter-finals over Melissa & Maks. That's why you've been seeing boosts make up for some of Len's low numbers. Melissa's elimination is a puzzler because couples have made it through despite taking the bottom of the leaderboard, but not this week. Maybe their trio Samba was too dark. Their elimination does not seem to make sense despite their score being the lowest. They actually did their best dances.

Week 9:

Maria & Derek - 59+6=53

Maria said during rehearsal that she didn't care about making it to the finals.

Week 10:

Donald & Peta - 89+9=98

10 years ago this month, they danced a freestyle that was, in my perennial opinion, overrated.
Season 15:

Week 1:

1 point per judge boosts to get used to are from Kelly & Val, Kirstie & Maks, and Bristol & Mark.

Kelly & Val - 21.5+3=24.5

Bristol & Mark - 19.5+3=22.5

Kirstie & Maks - 19.0+3=22.0

Drew & Anna - 21.5-3=18.5

Love Song was also a negative song choice, so that might be why Drew & Anna were in the bottom two.

Week 2:

Kelly & Val - 22.0+3=25.0

Kirstie & Maks - 21.0+3=24.0

Bristol & Mark - 18.0+4.5=22.5

Helio & Chelsie - 23.0-3.0=20.0

Joey & Kym - 22.5=3.0=19.5

Somehow Helio & Chelsie landed in the bottom two. But their song choice also seems negative, attacking the audience. Joey & Kym's dance were also negative, where the singer questions what he's "doing here".

Week 3:

Kelly & Val - 27.0+3=30.0

Kirstie & Maks - 24.0+3=27.0

Emmitt & Cheryl - 25.0+1.5=26.5

Bristol & Mark - 22.5+3=25.5

Emmitt & Cheryl somehow made it past this week despite scoring below the bottom two couples, possibly because he seemed to be in pain during rehearsal.

Week 4:

Kelly & Val - 37.5+4=41.5

Kirstie & Maks - 30.0+4=34.0

Bristol & Mark is not on here because their dance seem like a rock dance, either. Maybe they would make it past with bunny outfits they had originally planned to don.

Week 5:

Kirstie & Maks - 52.5+6=58.5

Kelly & Val - 51.5+6=57.5

Sabrina & Louis - 58.5-12=46.5

Week 6:

Kirstie & Maks - 29.5+3=32.5 (NEW TOTAL: 91.0)

Kelly & Val - 27.0+3=30.0 (NEW TOTAL: 87.5)

Sabrina & Louis - 30.0-6=24.0 (NEW TOTAL: 70.5)

Sabrina & Louis were somehow eliminated week 6 AGAIN. This might've been on purpose. This can show how barbaric the voters can be. Is Sabrina really sure she was given a second chance?

Week 7:

Kelly & Val - 36.0+3=39.0

Kirstie & Maks - 28.0+3=31.0

Week 8:

Kelly & Val - 56.5+6=62.5 (NEW TOTAL: 101.5)

Shawn & Derek - 55.5+2=57.5 (NEW TOTAL: 95.5)

Kirstie & Maks - 51.0+6=57.0 (NEW TOTAL: 88.0)

Carrie Ann disagreed with Len on Shawn's Samba, as did the viewers, it seems like. Sometimes, the lowest scores do not stop contestants from making it past weeks, but Kirstie & Maks were so far behind; enough to extort them out of the competition.

Week 9:

Kelly & Val - 54.0+6=60.0

Week 10:

Kelly & Val - 87.5-1.5=86.0

Kelly & Val's Freestyle didn't get a precise perfect score.
