Idk what some of y’all were hearing but Serenity killed it imo. Easily the best performance she has given so far on the show and it totally flipped my opinion of her

Asher… oh man. To say that was the best performance of the season would honestly be an understatement. That was one of the best performances in the history of this show.

Good battle. Nathan was more polished but Bryan has the more interesting voice. I would bet on some sort of steal/playoff pass situation here.

Not sure if that was just a terrible song but Valerie’s audition was kinda underwhelming to me. It sounded like she was off key half the performance.

Yeah I don't necessarily mean showy as in better, just a different approach. Josh has a specific tone so I can see where song choice would be important, I remember thinking it was fine for him but it's been a while.

 

Edit: rewatched Josh's version, I think his tone was less of a problem for me than it was just messy? I honestly don't mind because I feel like the song is kinda made for vocally showing off but I can see how someone wouldn't like it

Kaylee has some raw talent but her pronunciation and phrasing are so affected and insincere that I can’t get into her performances at all. There’s just zero emotional connection anywhere.

It wasn’t awful per se, it was just a very strange interpretation of the song and combined with the total lack of pitch correction in the earlier seasons it wasn’t great overall.
