Pretend that you are a contestant on the show and that you actually really wanted to win, but you got runner up. How do you view it?

I don't think any contestant enters the finale wanting to be 5th. They are probably thinking at the announcement "anything but 5th, please" 

 

I think the pressure of being there would be brutal for me so if i don't win, i would want 4th or 3rd just to end the pressure fast. I mean, it's probably awkward for the runner-ups hearing that their fellow contestant is the winner and they 

just stand there while the winner is receiving all the applauses and the confetti lol. 

 

On the other hand, there is the trip to Universal i guess...

I think if you are 4th, 5th place and sometimes even 3rd place, I think the contestants generally know they aren't going to win if they follow SM.

 

If you're a runner up, you probably believe you have a chance at actually winning.

 

2nd place would sting more for me personally.

I think 2nd or 3rd is prob my ideal choice (aside from yknow winning lol)

Even if it should sting more, I'd want to get 2nd since I would know that a good chunk of people voted for me to try to get me the victory, I'd work smarter and harder right after the show because I would feel good that I came so close.

2nd place is better than being 3rd-4th and is not bad if the winner is better.
