Cody & Jessica

Amazing-Race-a919dc6dd68944f3bb32c245610a941d.jpg

Oh Lord, these two. My feelings on them are no secret. I first met Cody & Jessica on BB19 and I was not a fan. Cody was openly very racist and transphobic. And Jessica had a really nasty mean girl streak that would come out. They somehow stumbled into becoming the fan favorites of the season because everyone else in the house was somehow worse and treated them terribly. I wholeheartedly believe that if Jessica doesn’t end up with Cody though, she’d join the mob with no problem and would’ve been just as hated as the rest of them. While I understand their fan- favorite status, moreso Jessica’s, Cody is such a shitty human being I could never get behind it. And at this point I have to judge Jess as well because she's still with him, having babies with him, wearing MAGA hats with him, never defending minority communities he's attacking, etc. I remember her talking about being liberal in the BB house, but I guess having a racist husband changes that. Unsurprisingly, their fan favorite status earned them an invite for The Amazing Race 30. I don’t know what two early Big Brother boots are doing in a cast of “champions”, but I guess we also have two people who do goat yoga so who am I to judge.

I was certainly rooting against them during the season, but when I rewatched the season a few years ago, I went into it with an open mind. I was not won over though. Cody’s whole appeal I guess is that he’s an emotionless robot. I think that’s fine and funny for a few little clips here and there, but for a full season? Cody’s entertaining because he’s so boring just doesn’t work for me, especially if he’s gonna be our winner. For example, Cody at the singing task should’ve been hilarious. That’s a task that’s so far out of his comfort zone, it was almost guaranteed that he would be a hot mess. But instead, he was just being a miserable baby and barely mumbled his way through the task until they gave him a pity clue and they survived. I wish Eric & Daniel didn’t shit the bed worse, because then Cody & Jessica could’ve just been eliminated there. Credit to Cody where it’s due though, he pretty much dominated the race outside of that task and the final roadblock. He really carried the team on his back. Jessica was barely a help most of the time, while Cody was randomly good at pretty much everything the race asked him to do. While I’m far from a fan, Cody absolutely earned that win.

Jessica did not win me over either. In fact, all my beliefs about her in BB19 were pretty much confirmed. She’s pretty much a basic mean girl and a woman hater. While I saw that in BB19, it’s fair to excuse her because maybe that’s only how she acted in that situation surrounded by worse people. Yes Jess was hating on the women in BB19, but they suck and deserve to be hated on lol. But now Jessica is on TAR 30, and yet she’s still using all her time and energy to hate on Brittany and Evan. Lucas and Henry are fine with her apparently, but she really just spent days talking endless shit about those other girls behind her back. While she was aligned with Kristi & Jen, the girls have gone on the record that they felt closer with Cody. I also don’t think Jessica having female friends excuses her from specifically hating on other women. With Evan, I do get how she turned the other teams off so I’m not gonna fault Jess completely there (though she seemed to be hating on her from day one). Jessica’s obsession with Brittany was absolutely bizarre to me though. While the two girls’ personalities never clicked, Brittany wasn’t overly concerned. She didn’t trust Jessica & Cody and didn’t see a lasting friendship with them. But Jessica was just borderline cruel about Brittany and the way she spoke about her. And it was always behind her back, Jessica never dared to bring any of these issues to her face.

Jessica’s hypocrisy also annoyed me throughout the season. Jessica was able to make strategic moves and U-Turns, but when the shoe was on the other foot she got on her high horse. Like when she was working with Brittany and Alex at the roadblock in the Czech Republic. She held onto the correct answer waiting to solve it first, only helping the others once she was done. Okay, fair enough. Not the best move to stay on their good side, but I understand she was thinking about survival. However, she then gets sooooo offended when Evan doesn’t help her and Kristi with the puzzle during the partner swap. She never made any effort to forge a relationship with Evan, so she really wasn’t owed anything. Of course, Jessica had the time of her life talking shit about Evan behind her back following this.

Jessica really didn’t bring much to the table as far as racing skills. Cody carried her on his back, and I was more entertained by Alex carrying Conor on his back to care about Cody & Jessica’s dynamic. In her redemption moment, Jessica solves the final roadblock puzzle first which wins them the season. I guess this was supposed to be some shining heroic moment, but I was still too upset about Henry & Evan getting robbed to care. I’m still annoyed Cody was still getting opportunities from CBS despite all the horrible comments he made in the BB house, continues to make now, and refuses to apologize for. I’m guessing Cody & Jess are officially done with reality tv because with all the promises CBS has made to do better, it would look really bad to go back to them knowing the backlash. But I guess you never know we are in a post-Trump elected again America.

Elizabeth & Zac

190807-love-island.jpg

I was thinking to myself last night I think love island has plenty of couples for the show and Elizabeth & Zac are boring.

They were cute I guess but when you look it all the iconic winners we are left with they just are not.

They were the first ever winners of love island in America.

Kind of weird they even won to me. So basic and vanilla. They added nothing to the show besides being cute but sometimes I guess that is enough.

Post season they then went on to split post show and are not even together anymore.

No big loss here even for the few Love Island fans

James Graham

James-Graham-1.jpg

I've tried to read about the format of the show like three times now and it's just not clicking for me. They have to compete for a seat? And last one in a seat wins. And the judging panel helps determines who sits in those seats? But the people in the seats also have to challenge them? The show only lasted two seasons, the format was probably just too much for people to be invested in. And FOX already had The Masked Singer so who needs this. Also it had a judging panel that included DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor, and Diddy. Possibly the worst judging panel ever conceived in talent competition history?

James Graham was originally on The X Factor in the UK part of a boy band called Stereo Kicks. It was one of those situations like One Director & Fifth Harmony where the judges put a bunch of solo acts together and attempted to make magic. They did place fifth, but they also broke up after 11 months so clearly the boy band never really worked out for them. He then went on to attempt a solo career and came on The Four. He's definitely a good singer. I was actually pretty impressed by his "A Song For You" and I started second guessing this cut. But he didn't show much versatility as I continued to watch his performances. It was just a bunch of old fashioned ballads and then he would sing a big note. I'm not surprised he never made it big, there's not really a lane for him unless he can freshen up his act and appeal to the current generation. Also the show was obnoxious. The judges were like screaming throughout the performances, seeing D*ddy's face made me want to vomit, and DJ Khaled even had an airhorn.

Hayden Moss

I think I cut Hayden in big brother? Or maybe not. It's hard to keep track but I will cut him now. We are in the middle of a big brother rankdown too so I didn't feel it was needed to have him here too considering he is one of my least favorites winners.

He had his showmance Kristen Bitting and obviously a dominant alliance but what won him that season was his dominant four Head of Household competitions that kept him safe and in the end got him the votes to win the season. I didn't find him likable or someone I want to keep around.

Phil Burton & Ash-Leigh Hunter

ashleighhunter83_362984508_300297739133102_7181885255842001159_n.jpg

Idk, y'all were annoyed when they stayed too long in the 2023 game, so why even add them to this game to begin with? But I digress. DWTS Australia seems insane to me. It's only six weeks of competition and they don't even dance half of the weeks lol. Phil & Ash-Leigh were on the 20th season. They danced a Viennese Waltz, Paso Doble, Foxtrot, and Freestyle. That's it. Literally. Four dances. For context, Reginald VelJohnson & Emma Slater danced six dances on the most recent American season of DWTS. Since it was quick enough, I watched their four dances. He was fine. Like an above average old guy you get on the show. He can move a little better than you'd expect, but he's not gonna blow you away. His Freestyle was pretty high energy so good for him keeping up there. Emily & Lyu and Virginia & Ian seemed to be the frontrunners, but some things aren't meant to be.

Oof guys, I'm so sorry about that. :( I didn't have any malicious attempt.

But when I was doing some research from last times game, it seemed like you all were fine with them being cut at the time and I was thinking they weren't big fan favorites of their franchise.

Also Diana has cut a number of favorites as well. Obviously Nicole & Derek being the main one. I get the reasoning and it's understandable but still. :broken:

And also, I loved Elizabeth & Zac and they were favorites of mine too. I loved their time on the show and theywere my favorite couple that season. So you can say we're even there. 😛

HINES WARD & KYM JOHNSON

Hines Ward & Kym Johnson are the winners of Dancing with the Stars Season 12. Hines Ward is a NFL wide receiver. I don’t have any attachment to Hines Ward or Kym Johnson. I had really liked Kirstie Alley, Chelsea Kane, Rome & Kendra Wilkinson so yeah Hines wasn’t close to my top faves. He was a pretty good dancer though and received 4 perfect scores which is good. I don’t really have much to say as I can’t remember my favourite dance or anything significant about him. So yeah, that’s it for the rankdown for him. He’s had a good run. Also, let’s not forget the pro, Kym Johnson is an underrated and underappreciated icon, I absolutely adore her and so glad she found her husband through Dancing with the Stars!

J.R Martinez & Karina Smirnoff

JR Martinez and Karina Smirnoff are the winners of season 13 of dancing with the stars. And yes, I did decided to cut the winners of season 12 & 13 back to back. I just wasn’t fans of either of them and wanna get rid of people I don’t care for. JR is an actor and army veteran. He was a great dancer and it was nice to see Karina win. She’s another underrated and underappreciated pro who deserves better partners. They had a cute partnership and I can see why they won given his talent! I was just rooting for Rob Kardashian and Kristin Cavallari. Oh, this season also had Carson Kressley. When you think about it though, this cast was full of a bunch of nobodies. So yeah, JR & Karina are now out of the Rankdown.

No hard feelings and I get it. Sure, I didn't mind their cut at the time & they are not my top favourites from their franchise, I still like them & I think their wins were important to a degree for the franchise. And I also don't think either of them should be the first one cut from their respective show that are currently in the rankdown.

Aww some tough cuts for me this morning (that some of you can rejoice on).

I know I'm in the minority but I did really enjoy Cody & Jessica and rooted for them. I get Alex's comments on them.

As I did mention, I did love Zac & Elizabeth during their season. I get that they were ~vanilla and cookie cutter~ per se but I really liked their connection and thought they were cute together. I get that they didn't bring much drama and were kinda on the safe side. I'm sad that they didn't really last long on the outside of the show as I was really rootin for them. :(

Aww I did really like James Graham a lot. I think he's really talented and has a fantastic voice.  He was definitely the standout from Stereo Kicks. He did great on the show and was a deserving winner. LOL yeah The Four was a chaotic mess of a show but it did produce two very talented winners, at least.

Of the DWTSAU couples I put through, teah Phil & Ash-Leigh are definitely fair cuts. I did really like him and thought he was a good dancer. But I was Team Emily, wanted her to win so was kinda bitter he won instead. 😢

Oh and I also like Day26 and Piglet/Nick Lachey but ultimately I think they are fine cuts as I wasn't that big on them. Well I do think they are talented and I enjoyed them on their shows but I enjoyed others more.

DONALD DRIVER & PETA MURGATROYD

Oh, back to the days when Peta had good partners, now I feel she just gets all the crappy partners that stand no chance of win and suck at dancing. Donald Driver is a NFL wide receiver, oh he’s like Hines Ward. I think he’s exactly like Hines Ward in a sense that he was on a season where I have no damn about him and he won. We had Gavin DeGraw - I DON’T WANNA BE ANYTHING OTHER WHAT I’M TRYING TO BE LATELY. We had Roshon Fegan and Katherine Jenkins but the sportsman Donald Driver had to win. Donald & Peta were consistently good but only received 2 perfect scores. These aren’t bad stats, he was a good consistent dancer, just never perfect enough for a perfect score haha. Anyways, just like his predecessor winners Hines & JR, out Donald goes from the Rankdown.

Aww I understand.

I'm always open to suggestions for cuts from shows I don't know as I really do hate to upset people with my decisions.  :( >.<

Also Diana did cut Ashley last time (in like the 400s/500s range)  so I was not expecting her to be mad at my cut at all. :dead:

Oh dangg at the Hines/JR/Donald trifecta cuts. :dead: I'm not mad but it did crack me up.

I do really like all of them but none of them are really amongst my favorites so I can understand their cuts.

All of them had strong Freestyles.  I especially loved Donald's and JR's.

JR's season had a really rough cast that season so I do think he was a deserving winner.  But ooof what a rough year that was. :haha:

Piglet was the right first cut from the Masked Singer US cast.  He is my least favorite, followed by Buffalos.

Terri Munro (Big Brother Australia, Season 8 )

7419c8dd7615afdc77f22d581fbfe9de1dfa0611

I know many of us on here watch the American, Canadian and UK versions of Big Brother, but I didn't know any of us watched the Australian version of Big Brother. I haven't watched any of this version of Big Brother but I am aware of Queen Sonia Kruger hosting the show so that's a plus on my book. Goodness gracious I'm looking at the number of episodes this show has had - they had 3 seasons with over 200 episodes. My goodness, that's absolutely insane! :omg: This season ~only had 112 episodes. Hmm I actually have no idea how this version of Big Brother works. I'm wondering if it works like the UK version or the Canadian & American versions? It kinda looks like a mix of both,  as there are HoH's involved but also every housemate nominates people for eviction and the public has a say on the vote. So I'm thinking it's more like the UK version?

Anywho to Terri, Terri Munro competed against 20 other housemates and won the 8th season of Big Brother Australia, which April 28, through 21 July 2008. Terri was a 52 years old Retail worker from North Richmond, NSW at the time of the show and held the title of the oldest housemate to have ever participate in Big Brother Australia. Terri's time was a really interesting one on the show. Terri was evicted on the first night in what was called a "snap eviction," but she did return to the game on Day 7.  I'm reading that on Day 9 Terri had to take on a task of deciding two of the 3 new housemates evictees (after Corey declined it). She succeeded with the task This led to Terri being re-instated as a housemate on Day 10. It looks like Terri's time in the game was anything but boring though. On Day 57, Nobbi used his Hand Grenade to put Terri and Terrence both in the Kombi van. Then a week later on Day 64, Terrence used his Hand Grenade to get Terri back in the house. Soo wait, was Terri ~evicted~ twice from the game? :dead: This all sounds like an entertaining mess.

She received a total of 13 nominations throughout her time on the show. She was nominated 8 times which all occurred on Day 1, Week 6, 8, 10, Day 73, 77, Day 84 & 85. Hmm interesting how some of this is done in days and some in weeks. Looking at the list of those that nominated Terri, I'm seeing Bianca Benigno's name a lot, so I'm assuming those two had beef and did not get along. Ultimately, even though Terri was up for eviction a lot, she managed to beat out fellow finalists Ben McCallum and Rory Ammon, whom were 19 and 21 at the time. Wow, well done to Terri on beating two young guys, whom many would assume the public would have voted for them haha. Terri won $250,000 for her prize.

BBAU used to be the UK format but then it tried doing some hybrid UK/American format and it hasn’t worked. I think they’re rebooting the series on a new channel and are planning on going back to the classic format so hopefully BBAU can make a comeback.

Ah thanks for that info. It looked like some hybrid format, which was so weird to follow and understand. :haha: I wonder how many seasons they did it as a hybrid format? But cool to know that a reboot of it is happening.

Nick Lazzarini

Nick-Lazzarini.jpg

Nick Lazzarini was the very first winner of So You Think You Can Dance during season one of the show. He was known in the dance world as a contemporary dancer. Between him and Artem I am not sure I could even watch this season again. It's just sad.

As for Nick even for being the first winner I am not sure he has ever been in the list of legendary dancers who won the show even before the lawsuit happened. He was no one special.

I encourage you to read the full complaint against Nick, Travis and their company. It's quite sickening.

Seasons 1-11 were pretty much classic Big Brother UK. It's a bit different from UK as they have nominations points. Like instead of nominating two housemates they get five points and give like three points to nominate Housemate A and two points to nominate Housemate B or whatnot. I actually prefer the points nominations system of BBAU to the one of BBUK. I think its more strategic deciding if you want to give out 3 points to one person and 2 to the other. Or 4 to one person and 1 to another. There's other twists and stuff like in the UK, but it's generally the house nominated and the public evicts. Then in S12 they changed it and tried to go closer to BBUS and it just hasn't worked at all imo.
