Who would have won S26 if it was a long format season?

Discuss. By long format I mean like the S17 format with T20->T13->T11->T10->T8->T4.

Starting from the T20 I think the ones who legitimately had a chance were Katie and Jaukeem, although from what we saw I think Jaukeem was more likely to pull a Triston Harper

 

Katie maaaaybe but she'd have to be choosing her own songs (no chance with the type of songs she was getting) and if Sofronio was consistent, I think it would still be a stretch

 

So yeah I'm still gonna go with Sofronio, good and consistent live vocalist so I think more live shows would only help him, and his style appealed to Minivan.

Jaukeem and Katie would have almost definitely be in the Top 13/12 with that format. 

 

I still think Sofronio would have won with the help of the pimping. And he wouldn't have struggled on the lives. Jaukeem probably would have struggled at some points which would have weakened his chances at the end but he still would have made it to the finale. Katie would have been Reba's finalist. And I think Shye would have had a harder time making it to the finale but somehow i see Buble having three finalists, oh yeah. The other finalist, i'm gonna assume it would have been Jake.

I think that's the second most likely after Sofronio tbh. The only things I think would hurt him are team affiliation (although that doesn't seem to matter too much anymore) and lack of stage presence (probably a deciding factor in cases like Kenzie/Colin Stough)

I think even if it's a long format Sofronio will still win. His songs in the Finale are not minivan friendly yet he won.

oops I forgot about Jake. Honestly, looking back at everything, Jake probably isn’t good or charismatic enough to take the win anyway. I don’t think he would have shined in the lives.

I think the results would've been the same for Sofronio. Jaukeem had a lot of momentum going and I was interested when looking back that the comments on all social media, even FB, were stunned about Jose Luis being eliminated. I'm a bit on the fence about whether Katie or Austyns would've made the finale... but I think the vocals were too powerful this season for either of them to place much higher. Although Shye was consistent enough to where I think she could've easily taken an Instant save spot to the finale.

 

 

But yeah, Sofronio was Sofronio this year. Props to him!

My main disagreements are I don't think Shye fights for the IS and replace Jose Luis with any of the people in your IS scenario.  Weren't Jose's percentages pretty low?

I wonder about how much accuracy have the playoff percentages in terms of telling who would have gotten a PV on a live Playoffs setting. In the case of Team Gwen, the difference between the Top 2 and the Bottom 3 was kind of abysmal so i assume that Jake and Sydney would have been PV, easily.

I only have Shye lower because I already had the assumption of Jaukeem and Sofronio as PV's. And the inevitable idea of someone being robbed of a PV as well. All I know is Jose's support was definitely much higher after his playoffs and he had the best reception out of all the Team Gwen contestants so that's my thinking there. But yeah, it's just a hypothetical anyways

i still think sofronio had it tbh, but i don't think a shye win would've been impossible. sofronio's live run was a pretty unremarkable series of B+ / A- rate performances that never really fluctuated, while shye was actively improving from a kind of middling string of pre-lives performance after her audition – we all know how the audience feels about a growth arc, even when its a short one. imagine if she had a few more weeks to actually pull that off

 

i feel really strongly about the fact that if jaukeem made lives the poor kid would've been eaten alive. it might not have been enough to slow his momentum if he made the top 8 in the actual season, but give him a few weeks for his audience to wear down on him and he might not have even cracked finals
