DWTS Season 33 Discussion

Recommended Posts

Yeah this is the first week where it’s feeling like Chandler can go. I lowkey think not having the extra dance is gonna hurt her more than help with casual voters. And a VW, as lovely as I’m sure it’s gonna be, isn’t gonna stick out amongst all the Contemporaries and ATs.

LOL this is such a mess. :dead: But at least it was nothing serious and was just for fun between them, at least. :haha:

Does anyone know if there will be an episode on Monday 11/11 to make up for no show on 11/5?

Hmmm no word on this yet. And I've been checking the schedule for updates on this. I don't think an extra show is needed as the number of couples/eliminations would be even out, as the rest of the schedule would go as followed:

10/29: Top 7 to Top 6

11/12: Top 6 to Top 5

11/19: Top 5 to Top 4

11/26: Top 4 finale performance/results show

Though there could be a possibility for a make up show.

I wonder if there’s a possibility that on the 11/12 show they will do no elims and send all 6 to semis (im assuming Dwight is the next eliminated) since the other 6 are all pretty popular/liked and we’ve had 6 person semis the last few seasons

I'm probably not gonna be able to update this for a couple weeks so here's a draft update!

NRTxCKg.jpeg

2 wildcards fall in Draft 1, as well as Sola and Alex's second picks.

CUThUZ1.jpeg

Elliott, Cam and Chris all lose their first draft members, while Eric as the sole wildcard is eliminated.

Idk about you guys but this in my opinion were the  best 4 dances of the night the other three dances  I didn’t really care but they were still good but one was mainly only good because of the cherography    that their  pro did (cough cough Dani cough cough).

Here is my Ranking of my four favorite dances

1.Chandler

2.Joey

3.Jenn

4.Stephen

They all were fantastic! What’s y’all’s favorite four dances ?

press release for Final 6 episode!

“500th Episode” – After 21 Emmys, 51 pros, 394 Stars, 32 winners and thousands of iconic performances, “Dancing with the Stars” celebrates the milestone 500th episode for a night full of dazzling moves and star-studded moments. “Dancing”’s “500th Episode” premieres TUESDAY, NOV. 12 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EST/PST, 7:00-9:01 p.m. CST), simulcasting LIVE across both ABC and Disney+ in local time zones and next day on Hulu.

The night kicks off with an electrifying opening number, choreographed by Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagach. And as a thrilling nod to the past, our dancers will perform to “Crazy In Love” by Beyoncé featuring Jay-Z, showcasing the very same song that opened the first episode of “Dancing with the Stars” in season one.  Plus, get ready for the dazzling return of some fan-favorite faces to the ballroom.

Partner dances include Contemporary, Quickstep, Argentine Tango and Viennese Waltz. In celebration of countless iconic performances from the past 32 seasons, each couple will pay tribute to past memorable dances while adding their own unique reinterpretation and flair for season 33. In a second round, the couples will tackle the ultimate test, an “Instant Dance Challenge.” They won’t know the dance style or the song until approximately five minutes before performing it LIVE!

Fans will be able to vote during the live simulcast of the show in the ET/CT time zones. During this time, online voting will be available to fans in any time zone in the U.S., its territories and Canada via dwtsvote.abc.com, and fans on participating U.S. wireless carriers can also vote via SMS/text (fans in Canada cannot vote via SMS/text). Live viewer votes from the night will be combined with the judges’ scores to determine who may be in jeopardy of elimination.

The couples (along with their first-round dance styles and songs) are the following:

  • Super Bowl Champion Danny Amendola and pro Witney Carson will perform a Quickstep, inspired by Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough’s performance in season five, to “Hey Pachuco” by Royal Crown Revue.
  • “The Bachelor” Joey Graziadei and pro Jenna Johnson will perform a Contemporary, inspired by Riker Lynch and Allison Holker’s performance in season 20, to “Work Song” by Hozier.
  • NBA Champion Dwight Howard and pro Daniella Karagach will perform an Argentine Tango, inspired by James Hinchliffe and Sharna Burgess performance in season 23, to “Santa Maria (Del Buen Ayre)” by Gotan Project.
  • TV star Chandler Kinney and pro Brandon Armstrong will perform an Argentine Tango, inspired by Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough’s performance in season 16, to “Para Te” by Appart.
  • Olympian rugby player Ilona Maher and pro Alan Bersten will perform a Quickstep, inspired by Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold’s performance in season 25, to “Chuck Berry” by Pharrell Williams.
  • Olympian gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik and pro Rylee Arnold will perform a Viennese Waltz, inspired by Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas’ performance in season 31, to “Glimpse of Us” by Joji.

Oooh I wasn't expecting a press release this early for Nov. 12th's show but yayy for it!

OMGGG an opening pro number to "Crazy in Love" is totally a way to get me excited for this upcoming episode. :spaz: :haha:

But OH DEAR, I wasn't expecting this episode to pay homage to past DWTS dances, like they did on All-Stars. Hmmm not reallly a fan of this as the new routines just don't match up to the iconic past dances. 🙈 The dance choices are alll reallly interesting. I feel like the main iconic/well remembered dance is Danny's pick. All of the other dances were really great/strong but not really on that ~iconic untouched~ level like Danny's choice. Maybe it's because they are moreso later season picks.

This is the style I’ve been praying for Chandler to get before her elimination, though I don’t know why they didn’t pick Zendaya’s infinitely more iconic AT from the literal same season. But anyway I think Chandler’s legwork is perfect for an AT so I really hope it comes together!

yeah there's some weird choices. when i think of Jordan Fisher's DWTS run, his Quickstep is one of the last dances I would think of lol. not because i didn't like it, but he just had so many other stand out moments. like you said, Danny's is the only one that is actively mentioned as an iconic dance in the fandom. i would present an argument for Charli's Viennese Waltz because of the emotional story behind it about Mark's miscarriage and it being one of the best technical performances in DWTS history... but i'd say it's more of a deep cut compared to the virality that made some of her other performances more "iconic." i'm also glad to see James & Sharna's AT get it's flowers but his iconic dance is obviously the Waltz with Jenna.

I am honestly not really a Stephen fan not going to lie but I feel bad for him he might be in danger next week especially with Charli season being literally only like 2 seasons ago I don’t want him to go home yet even though he is not of my favorites I personally want Dwight to go home but don’t we all ?!

I'm just excited that Chandler got like a legit Argentine Tango song.

It's one of the styles I was most excited for her to do and especially with like a traditional song, seeing as her Ballroom Tango was to a pop song.

I know this is Totally Off topic guys but just so you guys know I am doing a Dance moms rewatch seasons 1-8 on the Tv and Movies Area so I don’t know if any of you are dance moms fans but I will be rewatching every Dance mom episode I will also be ranking the girls based on their dance ability for the episode and the moms based on their behavior during the episode and I just want to let you guys know I don’t support what Abby did to those girls at all it was terrible and the moms should have gotten their kids out of that situation as soon as possible! So if your a fan of Dance  moms I would suggest you check it out I will post the first episode and my opinions throughout the episode tomorrow.

Stephen’s contemporary last week has the most likes and views on socials, so I’m not sure he’s as on the chopping block as the show is trying to make it seem.  I think he’ll work hard these next 2 weeks so hopefully that’ll be enough to push him at least another week.

You do got a point there I honestly should not have underestimated Stephen he is improving week by week and he could definitely make the finals.

Yeah I think it is scary in general to have to repeat a dance as technically great (and recent) as that one is though. Hopefully they can put together something good. I think mark visited their rehearsals today
