I am so happy that 121 is being used I personally have always loved the goofy movie y’all ! I am also glad they switched the movies up this year no Cinderella or Frozen and those are used a lot ! I also think this is Chandler week y’all! Let’s hope she gets 10’s!

Excited for Ilona, I’ve seen a bunch of people talking about wanting her to dance to this song. Worried for Chandler with this style/song combo but hoping for the best. And Phaedra as Cruella is kunttttt

I feel like we shouldn't worry, as Chandler stars in Zombies and this should be right in her wheelhouse.  I was thinking this would be her ~comeback week.~ However, if the worry is if it'll connect with the audience then yeah that's another issue.

I'm wondering the same thing too.  I think many of us predicted her to get ballroom yet we just keep getting it wrong.

I still feel bad for Chandler last week I understand that judging get harder every week and she is the front runner and they are being harsh on her for a reason since they want her to step it up  but did anybody see her tear up in the skybox I felt really bad I was like it’s ok to be sad girl let your emotions out ! Ilona was in the exact same position as you last week and I said the same thing to her . Like I personally felt like she really let her emotions out but I understand that she might have to to connect with some of the fans a bit more though but I know almost all of us on Idf got her back !

Chandler should do well and have a comeback week dancing to her own song. 
 

Charleston comeback!! And honestly, Stephen and Rylee doing it I expect to be fire. The energy required for a good Charleston is right in their wheelhouse. It may give similar vibes to their jive hopefully with improved technique. 
 

since when is Bye Bye Bye a disney song?! but I’m sure Witney will choreograph a great jazz and Danny is on the up and up ! 
 

If Joey can pull off a good samba, he may officially secure his finale spot. 
 

as for team dances, it’s basically best dancers (as a whole, Stephen and Danny are good too) vs best choreographers so should be interesting!!

Ooh yes I think she'll absolutely kill it and bounce back this week! It'd be perfect timing after 2 weeks of not being on top. I meant more I was worried about the fan votes since Zombies isn't as well known as the other Disney media this week, but I think that's mostly just because I'm scared of her getting shock-booted

 

She needs to get her Xochitl waltz moment ASAP!!!!!

Jazz right after contemporary? What in the Melanie Moore is going on here? At least the Witney choreo will likely be fun.

 

As expected, I’m meh on a bunch of the song choices. Disney week is usually a pass from me.

Lmaoo I thought the same with "Bye Bye Bye" too. I absolutely love the song  and it's a classic but it feels SOO odd having it on Disney week.  I know it was used in the Deadpool movie but it's still odd. 

 

Ooh lol Joey's actually got his finale spot secure. But yeah a good Samba would secure that even more.

Ahh yeah at first I was unsure but then thinking about that, I thought you meant the Zombies/audience connection thing, which I totally get.  Gah yeah now you have me worried on that too.

 

This! She's certainly capable of it so hopefully it comes sooner than later.

I'm actually curious how many couples on DWTS have had a Contemporary and Jazz on back-to-back weeks. I know it's not the first time that this has happened and am sure it's happened a few times before. I'm too lazy to gather up the stats to find that out.

Team Goof will probably take it because their team is so stacked, and they have the judges/productions fav (Joey)… but Team Roar has really good choreographers so I don’t think the scores will be super far apart. They’re probably gonna Harry Jowsey-ify Dwight (aka have him do the cool lifts to distract from his dancing). I think they’ll get something good together too.

Yes we should never underestimate good choreography !  I agree they won’t be super far apart but I just think Team goof is a bit better but that’s just my opinion!

let me do a mid-season analysis/prediction!

 

sadly, i think Phaedra & Val are dead on arrival this week. they just have the least support and i'm not sure where else her arc is meant to go. after that, i think it's Dwight & Daniella going on Halloween night. it is possible that Dani could pull of a surprise with a cool spooky dance that helps them stay. however, given the fact that she blasted him on social media for being late to rehearsal, is her heart even fully invested in this partnership? 

 

THEN it gets interesting. i think the top vote getters are Joey, Stephen, and Illona. i'm not sure how to read the likes of Danny and Jenn and i think they could fluctuate depending on performance quality. at this point, Chandler might have the scores, but will the fanbase be there? 

 

if i had to make a guess right now...

6th - Chandler & Brandon/Jenn & Sasha

5th - Chandler & Brandon/Jenn & Sasha

4th - Danny & Witney

3rd - Stephen & Rylee

2nd - Illona & Alan (if she starts to get towards the top of the pack in scores consistently, i think it's over for everyone tbh.) 

1st - Joey & Jenna

Regarding the judges' scoring, I found this Reddit page from a few years ago:

 

Last week, even with 9 couples, the scoring was quite close. The scoreboard was like this:

Danny & Witney:  36
Joey & Jenna:  36
Stephen & Rylee:  33
Chandler & Brandon:  32
Phaedra & Val:  32
Brooks & Gleb:  32
Ilona & Alan:  32
Jenn & Sasha:  32
Dwight & Daniella:  29

Under the current scoring system, there was only a 2.38% difference between first and last place. All the women scored 32 (consisting of all 8's).  Dwight was only 3 points (or 1.02%) below all of them.  That probably explains why Brooks ended up going home.  I still don't know what was up with Week 4's scoring.

 

 

If we used Strictly's scoring system, the scoreboard (after point conversion) would look like this:

Danny & Witney:  9
Joey & Jenna:  9
Stephen & Rylee:  8
Chandler & Brandon:  7
Phaedra & Val:  7
Brooks & Gleb:  7
Ilona & Alan:  7
Jenn & Sasha:  7
Dwight & Daniella:  6

I just don’t think Brooks and Gleb had much of a fanbase at all. I wasn’t surprised by their elimination because I was reading FB comments and they HATED them. I tend to rely on FBs opinions a lot because while the FB moms can be a little off their rocker, it’s to me the most accurate judge of the casual viewer. If you compare Brooks and Gleb to say, Harry and Rylee, for the LONGEST time they were getting comments like “they’re just the cutest and he tries so hard!!” Brooks and Gleb’s showmance was just not coming across as likeable to the average fan. I don’t necessarily think Dwight or Phaedra (or anyone else) have SO many votes coming in as much as Brooks and Gleb didn’t have a lot to overcome

I don't think people quite understand tiktok trends. They are quick and once they get disseminated to the point where they get viral (like the lift) the original source isn't even a thought. All the people doing the lift aren't going to be referencing Danny and Witney and leading to votes. If that were the case Harry Jowsey would have won. What you should be looking for is sustained virality. Somebody like Ilona whose popularity on TikTok is very real (it's the same thing with like Harry Jowsey last year who had a very real TikTok and social media following).

 

It's like being viral on the internet, especially a platform like TikTok, is so fleeting that I don't think it can be used as an indicator of anything. Because like by the time I see Danny and Witney's lift being done by the USWNT, the people who follow the USWNT exclusively aren't going back to vote for Danny and Witney.
