*Wallace
Yay drafts are done! Oooh haha I totally called the picks via who that got to pick before me. Though ugh I hope I don't regret picking Danny over Phaedra (as those were the two I was stuck on), but we'll see what happens there.
totes4totes
I just went to Bachelor Nation casting (https://bachelornation.com/pages/eligibility/) and: Quote 6. Applicants must never have been convicted of a felony or ever had a restraining order entered against them. And I just did a quick Wayback and that's been on their site since at least April 2024. So this is CLEARLY something that they say that they are looking for. So it's actually extra wild that they don't go and try to see potential Restraining Orders, even sealed, from essentially every location contestants have ever lived in. Like E! was able to get those records unsealed, there's no reason a company with the combined powers of The WB/Disney cannot do the same. This is all supposed to be part of the reason they release the contestants so early (to avoid another Lincoln situation). But they aren't even releasing them early enough to pull them before filming starts (this season that would have been showing their hand though because we all know Jenn was at minimum 3rd choice) . Marcus probably would have never made it through if they released the contestants early enough for the posts on reddit to start posting their stories about his violence. Devin may not have been cast because whomever told Reality Steve to look in to this could have done so way earlier. It's like Tyler G from Hannah B's season, they released the contestants and then early in to filming (after he got a 1-on-1) they were able to pull him. (Michelle's runner-up Joe is the same way). But ultimately it should all come down to the fact that ABC/The WB/Disney should NOT have to let the public vet their contestants for something that is on LEGAL and PUBLIC record. Again, if the RO was sealed and for whatever reason isn't caught on a background check then the criminal charges of trespassing/burglary should be red flags even if charged as a misdemeanor. totes4totes
anyway, f*ck Devin, f*ck everybody who was sympathetic to him after he did his PSYCHOPATHIC move of releasing 150+ screenshots of their private texts (including poorly censored pictures and sexually explicit messages). and vote for Jenn so that she can get as big a bag from ABC and so she can peace the f*ck out as soon as her contract with ABC ends.

Wish I could have gotten Stephen or Jenn over Brooks but I still have a celebrity who’s paired with Gleb, so it’s okay. 1 hour ago, totes4totes said: anyway, f*ck Devin, f*ck everybody who was sympathetic to him after he did his PSYCHOPATHIC move of releasing 150+ screenshots of their private texts (including poorly censored pictures and sexually explicit messages). and vote for Jenn so that she can get as big a bag from ABC and so she can peace the f*ck out as soon as her contract with ABC ends. keychange
for those who follow it... what are y'alls thoughts on the DWTS subreddit? i used to enjoy being on there, but i've noticed it has become increasingly cringe and also very misogynstic as the years have gone by and membership has grown. the constant tearing apart of the female pros + female celebs (especially ringers like Charli, Xochitl, JoJo, etc) but the praising of male mediocrity (Iman, Jason) has made me take a sharp turn away from it. like it feels like it has slowly turned in to the actual demo of the show (middle aged white women) and it's no longer fun for me to be on there lol. Elliott
Iman & Daniela did not deliver the best routine of their season for this slander. I visited there and it was full of people acting infantilizing Witney/Rylee/etc. so I've basically stopped going.

Moderately active over there, and you’re not wrong on the cringe factor or tearing apart of certain pros, but I enjoy the conversations during the live threads that are more active. There’s a lot of favoring of some pros over others (as a Daniella fan, even they get a bit much for me at times, while Rylee gets people divided by just existing) but Reddit is a lot more “hive mind oriented” because it’s a lot more easily accessible than IDF or other more niche forums — people want sweet sweet fake Internet clout and will go along with the majority opinion to get that clout. There’s still fun to be had, but I try to keep it arms’ length during the off season period for a reason.

It’s the whole reason I’m not backing Daniella this season when I’ve backed her for the last three seasons (I didn’t watch S29 live but I would’ve skipped on voting for her then for similar reasons). Jason, as much as I adore him, got lucky with a weaker male cast allowing him to stand out & also getting three Latin dances back-to-back early on which lead to his plateauing after Disney night, and then he got sick right around the halfway point which also didn’t help his case (I will die on the hill of his jazz dance scores being whack as hell, though). I had a little bit of beef with Rylee being a nepo hire, but was willing to give her a shot (and she got dealt a crap hand with her first partner, which isn’t her fault; she did what she could in spite of that). The Jenna hate is something I don’t get; she’s not necessarily my favorite pro but her waltz and jazz choreos are always solid and she’s an incredible dancer to boot. Yeah, it’s a stark reminder on why so many people that do terrible things can get away with those acts — if they’re charming enough to fool people, it’s harder for their victims to be believed.

*Wallace
Oooh yayy thnanks for posting that press release, Cam! Some of my thoughts: - The Jive is a great dance for Danny to get to show/express his performance side that the judges want to see. Not sure if he will nail the performance aspect this soon though. It's an athletic dance so should hopefully work in his favor. - Oooh a Quickstep is interesting for Anna. Not really sure how this will go but I can imagine it being slow and lackluster. Classic old school DWTS song choice there too. - I was expecting ballroom for Joey this week. But a Rumba is a good fit. It has similar fundamentals of a Cha-Cha, but slower so this shouldn't be bad. But if he can pull off a Jason Mraz styled Rumba (which happened on Week 2), he can certainly be a true contender. - Ah yeah I am really curious to see Dwight/Daniella in ballroom. I so worry for them with the very technical Foxtrot. But I am sure Daniella can work her magic there. - Oooh not surprised we got a “What Was I Made For?” routine. But yayy it'll be nice seeing a different side of Chandler here. - Oh goshh, not another “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” Salsa. We need to retire this. But hopefully Ilona's confidence continues to grow. I was hoping for ballroom for her. - Brooks is one of the last female celebs of this cast I ever would have imagined doing a Quickstep to “9 to 5”. It'll be nice to see a fun non-sexy side of them. But I'll be disappointed if we don't get to see a Latin dance from her before she goes. - LOL Stephen WOULD get a Superman Paso Doble. We all should have seen this coming. Looking forward to how he channels the style/spirit of this dance. - Oooh have we ever had a Foxtrot to “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” ? I can't think of it. I worry for Phaedra on a technical point here. But there's no denying she can and would really live and sell this dance so well. - Ahh dangg, Eric getting the slow Waltz *could* be his saving grace to survive the double elimination. Though I hope not. But this should surely be better than his Cha-Cha. - The Rumba is a good first Latin dance for Tori. I can see this being in the same wavelength as her Foxtrot. - A Tango to “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)” sure is..... interesting. Don't get this style/song combo. But excited to see how Jenn does with ballroom as I can see it suiting her. - Can't think of Reginald's song off the top of my head. But a Paso is interesting for him. He can't showcase his fun personality so he's reallly got to step up his dancing here.

It’s the music for my favorite hymn, “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee”. The Quickstep might hurt Anna and Brooks, though I hope that Brooks does well at least.
