That leaked list is getting more and more accurate..... and I don't like it

Ugh I know, same. It'll be anti-climatic if that whole list is right. 🙈 I see DigitalSpy are holding out hope one of the guys aren't in the cast and I'm hoping for that too - but it's probably all right. :(

With that said, I like the Montell casting. I don't know her but she seems fun, got strong sports credentials so she should have the work ethic for the show. Looking forward to how she does.

Yeah bad optics all around that we're probably gonna get such an uneven split.

I didn't watch Gladiators so I don't know Montell, but I'm excited for her and can see myself rooting for her!

I believe I read that the last three reveals will be announced on The One Show, which I think comes on at 7PM UK time (2pm EDT). So we'll officially know the names in the next few hours!

And now we officially have our last three reveals announced!

Nick Knowles is our thirteenth celebrity for Strictly 2024!

p0jhzb8w.jpg

Nick Knowles is a BAFTA-winning TV presenter.

For the last 24 years, Nick Knowles has been the face of the BBC’s BAFTA-winning ‘DIY SOS’. Alongside this, Nick Knowles has always been passionate about travelling and most recently, worked with Channel 5 on various travel programmes including ‘Into the Grand Canyon’, ‘The Mighty Mississippi’ and ‘Nick Knowles in South America’.

Over the past two decades, Nick has presented across an extensive list of formats spanning news, factual, travel and entertainment and has solidified himself as one of the UK’s most familiar faces on television.

Nick Knowles says: “I’m so, so excited to be doing Strictly this year. People may be more used to me getting stuck in on a building site or travelling the world, but dancing live on TV will be a whole new adventure. I’ve spent my whole life learning new skills and I’ve never been afraid of a challenge - there’s life in the old dog yet to take on one more big one – being taught how to dance! I’ll give it my everything .... and try not to embarrass my kids of course!”

The news was revealed this evening (Monday 12th August) on The One Show on BBC One.

Paul Merson joins our Strictly squad for 2024!

Paul Merson is a former footballer and broadcaster.

Paul Merson made his debut playing for Arsenal Football Club when he was 17 years old and went on to win the PFA Young Player of the Year. Paul played for the club for over a decade, playing 424 times, scoring 99 goals and winning all domestic trophies, as well as the European Cup Winners’ Cup. Paul played 21 times for England, scoring three times and went on to play for Middlesbrough, Aston Villa, Portsmouth and becoming player manager at Walsall Football Club. Paul is now a football pundit and commentator and has written numerous books that cover his football career and personal life.

Paul Merson says: “Joining Strictly is a whole new ball game for me, but I’m going to tackle this challenge head on. I’m ready to swap the pitch for the Ballroom floor, so here’s hoping my two left feet can learn some moves and you never know, maybe I’ll be taking home the Glitterball Trophy!”

Sam Quek MBE is the fifteenth and final celebrity for Strictly Come Dancing 2024!

Sam Quek is an Olympic and European Gold medallist, former England and Team GB hockey player and now a TV and Radio Presenter.

Sam Quek won 125 international caps for the England and Great Britain women’s hockey teams, including a Gold Medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. In 2017, Sam Quek was awarded an MBE for ‘Services to Hockey’.

She is now a broadcaster and has presented on BBC ‘Morning Live’ and was a Team Captain on ‘Question of Sport’. Sam Quek presents for a range of sports including Football, American football, Rugby and Cricket. She co-anchored the BBC’s Tokyo Olympic Games Breakfast programme and regularly appears on programmes across the BBC’s radio channels.

Sam Quek says: “As a former hockey player I’m used to playing as part of a team, but the thought of dancing on the Ballroom floor in front of a live audience is quite daunting! I’m chuffed to be a part of this legendary show and Quickstep into the shoes of a performer, it feels absolutely surreal but I’m ready for every bit of the adventure."

Ah that was a very anti-climatic end to the reveals as the Daily Mail spoiled the whole list last week. 🙈 Wish we could have had one younger female in place of Nick or Paul and have a more even gender split but I get how that was an issue this year. :(

With that said, there's still a lot of people I am looking forward to. I'm most interested in seeing and rooting for JB, Tasha, Shayne, and Jamie. Then Sarah, Tom, Montell and Sam as secondary people to look out for. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone else as well.

My pairing predictions:

Chris & Lauren: She seems like she’d be a good teacher for him.

Jamie & Michelle: Kind of by process of elimination but I’ve been hearing that she might get a partner this year.

JB & Jowita: He’s the shortest and she hasn’t had an obvious contender yet.

Montell & Aljaž: Seems like they’d have great chemistry.

Nick & Luba: Again by process of elimination.

Paul & Katya: They’ll want to repeat the Tony Adams’ success and with his wife-beating history getting called out, he’ll need a popular pro.

Pete & Dianne: Seems like a usual type for her and not as good as Bobby last year.

Dr. Punam & Vito: He’s due a non-contender.

Sam & Carlos: Height-wise they should work.

Sarah & Gorka: Again, height-wise and he usually alternates between early exit and finalist, I see her being popular.

Shayne & Nancy: They seem plausible.

Tasha & Kai: He’s the tallest after Johannes.

Tom & Nadiya: Height-wise they should be together.

Toyah & Nikita: He’s due an older partner.

Wynne & Karen: Don’t see him going that far and she’s kind of just there.

I see Amy, Johannes and Neil being benched; Amy since going right back into partnering a celeb might be too exhausting for her right now, Johannes since he’s apparently said that he’s taking a different role this year and Neil since he’s always on the bench.

There's a story out that Kai isn't going to have a celeb partner this year. :(

Strictly Come Dancing fans will be left disappointed as a key member of the cast has been left without a partner.

Kai Widdrington has reportedly been dropped from the forthcoming season’s lineup, as a male-heavy roster of celebrities mean that more female professionals have been confirmed for them to partner up with.

It means that fan favourite Widdrington, has been left without a partner and dropped from the show.

A source told The Sun: “Kai has become the first casualty of this year’s male-heavy line-up.

“With so few female celebrities it was inevitable that some of the professionals would miss out on a pairing, but it’s a real blow that Kai is one of them.”

UGH I don't get this after his amazing season with AJ and he did a great job with Angela Rippon. 😭 Gah Strictly are really messing up this year. 😐 But then again, I can get this with the lower number of female celebs, this would hurt the male pros' chances of having partners.  :( This does suck for Kai as I wanted to see him with a younger partner again.

I don’t know any of these Celebs :dead: Oh wait I do know Shayne. But that’s about it :haha:

The highlight of the launch show was Vito and Ellie reprising their Paso doble, loved that dance

Glad to see Aljaž as Pro again, I think he and Tasha can go far.

I would say my favourite couples pre-show are Tasha & Aljaž, Tom & Nadiya, Shayne & Nancy, Montell & Johannes and Dr. Punam & Gorka.
