Thoughts:

- This should be a really fun week!

I am most looking forward to Jamie's, JB's, Montell's, Sam's, Sarah's, Tasha's dances.

- Curious which Bruno Mars songs JB will be dancing to besides "Treasure" as that's the only one we know so far.
- Ooh and a Salsa to "Another One Bites The Dust" was not the combo I was expecting but it's interesting.

First three dances:

Pete & Jowita - Salsa: 4/6/6/6 = 22
Wynne & Katya - Rumba: 7/7/8/8 = 30
Sam & Nikita - American Smooth: 6/8/7/8 = 29

- Surprised Pete is opening the show after going 2nd last week. But if anyone has to take the performing 1st curse spot, I'm more than fine with it being Pete. :ph34rwave: Seeing mixed comments on Pete's Salsa. Some are saying he's really shown improvement and getting better. Some felt there wasn't much Salsa dance content. Some felt the dance was too posey and felt he had mistakes. But lots did feel he did channel Freddie Mercury well. Ooof rough scores and lower than I expected. This week will really test Pete's fanbase/vote because I doubt anyone else will score lower.
- Sounds like Wynne's Rumba had mixed reviews. Some really liked/enjoyed it a lot and noted that it was emotional. Some didn't like it so much - stuff like they felt that it lacked flow and continuity movements. It sounds like that he got to sing at the end of performance. 😮
- Seeing mostly good comments on Sam's AS. Some thought it was nice, elegant and her best ballroom dance yet. Some of the negatives felt it came off bland. Some felt it was a little stiff but the lifts were well done.

Seems like it is clear Sarah and Vito are getting less votes and the producers don't want to let them go this early. They are mostly performing in the 2nd part.

Middle four dances:

Chris & Dianne - Tango: 6/7/8/8 = 29
Sarah & Vito - Cha-Cha: 9/9/9/10 = 37
JB & Lauren - Couple's Choice: 9/10/10/10 = 39
Montell & Johannes - Waltz: 8/9/9/9 = 35

- Sounds like Chris improved with his Tango from his last week dance. Many felt it was a bad song choice/for the Tango and felt the song was too fast for it. Sounds like it was one of the better dances so far but still not too great - with some stompy footwork and iffy posture.
- Seeing lots of positive comments on Sarah's Cha-Cha with some calling it the best dance of the night so far. Sounds like she had really good and impressive leg action and that she really channeled a lot of Madonna stylings in it. Some negatives did feel it was a little stiff.
- Sounds like JB's Couple's Choice was great and seeing lots of positive comments for it. Many thought he danced and looked very natural in it and that Lauren fit in well with the dance. Some felt that it felt like a JLS routine. Of course some didn't like it as they don't like Couple's Choice routines lol. Amazing scores for him! I knew he would score greatly well so yay for this. I just hope he can keep up this momentum in the other styles.
- Seeing lots of positive comments on Montell's Waltz, many saying it was graceful and beautiful. Sounds like there were some frame issues but the footwork was good. Ugh it sounds like Shirley is arguing and interrupting Craig on his comments though.

Tasha, Jamie and Shayne are the last three. I would guess the performing order for them would be Jamie, Tasha and with Shayne closing as he hasn't closed a show yet.

Last three dances:

Jamie & Michelle - Samba: 7/8/8/8 = 31
Tasha & Aljaž - Couple's Choice: 9/10/10/10 = 39
Shayne & Nancy - Quickstep: 8/9/9/9 = 35

- Sounds like Jamie's Samba was well recieved. Some found it a lot of fun and that Jamie did well witha difficult style. A few did find it a little awkward with it lacking bounce action and fluidity. Sounds like Anton and some other judges were really critical of the dance. Ooh the scores were lower than I expected though I did expect Jamie to score lower than his last two dances.
- Sarah had a Contemporary styled Couple's Choice, which sounds like it was a really beautiful and stunning routine and she danced it lovely. Of course some are critical and negative about Couple's Choice dances like this - but I'm sure it was a brillant dance for Tasha. Some said Tasha danced it better than Aljaz (which is kinda to be expected as this is more her dance style). Ooh and lots of people commented on the dance taking a lot ouf of Aljaz. I did expect those scores for her so yayy for another 39 for Tasha!
- Sounds like there were mixed thoughts on Shayne's Quickstep. There sounds like there some gapping issues in Shayne's Quickstep and some thought it was messy technically, which is unfortunate. Sounds like there was a Abbey Road tribute. Some thought it was good/fun from him and a few thought it was one of his better dances. But ooo yayy Shayne got his best scores, which I was not expecting after reading comments on it. 😮

Week Seven Leaderboard
1. JB and Lauren: 39 (10 points)
1. Tasha and Aljaz: 39 (10 points)
3. Sarah and Vito: 37 (9 points)
4. Montell and Johannes: 35 (8 points)
4. Shayne and Nancy: 35 (8 points)
6. Jamie and Michelle: 31 (7 points)
7. Wynne and Katya: 30 (6 points)
8. Chris and Dianne: 29 (5 points)
8. Sam and Nikita: 29 (5 points)
10. Pete and Jowita: 22 (4 points)

Three ties. Not as bad as last week, thankfully. This will be a tough week to predict. I think JB should be fine/high enough in scores. I do still worry for Shayne. Great scores but if he's really unpopular, he could land in danger again. But I hope he can have a week off from the Bottom 2. Other contenders... this will be a test for Pete. Lots of people think he's polling really well and getting lots of votes, so we'll see if that holds true tonight. If he's in the B2, he's definitely gone. I definitely think Wynne and Sam are in danger. Jamie could be in danger as I'm not sure how his votes are going.

I think Jamie is running away with the vote lol. I don’t think anyone else is close to touching him at the moment. He’ll have a huge fanbase from being in the most popular British soap, he’s gotten better every week and he’s the right age for the older and younger voters to attach themselves to.

I’ll be shocked if anyone else wins at this point. Tasha screams runner-up as does Sarah. JB will probably go towards the end of the competition as he’s already landed in the bottom two (depending on if people attach themselves to the Amy/Lauren switch and it carries them) and I don’t see anyone else building momentum. Montell doesn’t stand a chance since she didn’t have a fanbase to start with.

You think Jamie is polling in more votes than Chris? 😮 I thought Chris would be the one running away with the vote and it being a foregone conclusion since Week 2. :dead:  Though if it's Jamie, I'd rather that as he's grown and showcased to be a stronger dancer, especially these last few weeks.

I do think Chris and Tasha have the best chances of making the final. Jamie and Sarah have a great and really strong chance getting there as well. I doubt JB will get there but I hope he has momentum to make it to the Top 6. If not, I could see him going soon (which I hope doesn't happen). And yeah I'm worried for Montell - I can see her lasting over a few others but I do fear she'll go out at like 6th or 5th.

I'm really excited for Icons Week! Kinda reminds me of when DWTS Did an Icons week though I can't remember when that was. :haha: Ooh and yay I spotted Layton in the audience too. ❤️ LOL at the judges get-up! :dead: Craig as Barry Gibb, Motsi as Tina Turner, Shirley as Cher and Anton as Rod Stewart. :dead: They all looked great as their icons though I didn't get Anton's or Craig's at first. But these are fun looks! :haha: Ooh and the band playing "Proud Mary" for the cast intro made me think of Alexandra's iconic Jive! Memories!

Week 7  Icons WeekThoughts!

Pete & Jowita - Salsa: Okay Pete really got into this theme. Pete makes a great Freddie Mercury looks-wise. It's great to see how much of a fan he is of Freddie's. lol Pete with all of those cheesy Queen references at the end of the video. :haha: But ooof he was struggling in those rehearsals, which sadly carried over into the dance. OH DEAR... The positives, as I said, Pete really looked and channeled Freddie so well. But oh dear, he made LOTS of mistakes. Pete got off on the wrong footing right at the start, which threw him off his game. Jowita did all of the work with the lifts/flips and all of the Sasla basics while Pete was super  stiff and lacked the hip action and rhythm for this style. He did well with some of the lifts in the middle of the dance but the lifts towards the end felt and were executed in a very clunky and heavy way. Great characterization but the dancing left a lot to be desired. Sadly, this wasn't strong enough for Week 7. :( Aww Jowita having to pep him up after the dance as Pete was visibly upset with how that went. :( Ooof ouch at the 22. I can't fault the score. The 6s did seem a little nice but I get it. Craig's 4 could have been harsh but.... I get it. I'd go with mostly 5s for a 20 or 21.

Wynne & Katya - Rumba: Aww I'm lowkey disappointed Wynne didn't do drag again and dress up as Shirley Bassey as I was expecting that. :( But I do love how much Wynne loves her and got to meet/sing for her. Aww his connection and backstory to the song was really touching. I did fear/worry a bit for Wynne for the Rumba and omg he sure is singing a lot in this intro video. Wow Katya is so dynamite and stunning to watch - I just love watching her in Rumbas. ❤️ Sometimes she captivates me too much in this style where I don't focus on her celeb partner as much. But I think Wynne did a respectable job. He partnered and showcased Katya well and was always there for her. I would have liked forh im to have been more elegant and graceful with his movements - he kinda threw his hands about too  dramatically and intense. I get that the song called for that. But I did feel it lacked light and shade and the quieter moments needed for a Rumba. More hip action could have been a little better. But his performance here was captivating and emotional. Oh wow, his singing at the end was a powerful way to end this too. 😮 It was lowkey quite emotional and I felt that from Wynne. Ooh yeah I do agree with Craig in that he over attacked and had issues with the hand placements. I'm feeling a little mixed but it was a good effort nonetheless. Wynne opening up about his mental health struggles was emotional. :( The mix of 7s and 8s were great for him though I agree moreso with the 7s, so would have gone down to a 28 or so.

Sam & Nikita - American Smooth: Lol it wouldn't be an icons week without Taylor Swift huh? So Sam is the Swiftie of the bunch where she talked about loving seeing Taylor on the Eras tour. I do really love "Love Story" and excited to see Sam performing a graceful dance. Omg one of the lifts they showed of them working on was so awkward and weird looking. :lmao: Aww it was really cute seeing Sam's girlfriends showing up in her rehearsal and them bonding. ❤️ This American Smooth did a great job at recapturing the "Love Story" music video and wow Sam got the Taylor look down. 😮 I thought this was a really pretty dance and one of Sam's better dances. I thought Sam showcased a good sense of grace and elegance here. She had a good frame and in hold placement but sometimes she does stiffen up. I did feel like the dance was a little safe and cautious. I felt like something was missing to make it pop. I did think the dance had lovely storytelling. I wasn't sure about some of the lifts - some I didn't like but I did really like the last lift of Nikita twirling Sam around before they got to the smaller stage. I do kinda get Craig on the dance lacking wow moments needed for the AS. This was a very pretty dance. LOL Nikita's comments of telling Sam to be graceful with touching his face and his demo of what she did was hilarious. :lmao: I did  agree with the mix of 6/7/8's and a 29 is fair - I'd go with a 29 or 30.

Chris & Dianne - Tango: Aww Chris' comments of how his Samba went was a little touching. I feel like KISS is a fun choice for Icons week. But I know he loves the classic rock music so this is a great choice for him. Lol them going to the vinyl store and Chris' comments on Dianne going to the pop music section kinda cracked me up. :haha: Chris definitely felt much more in it and at ease with this style of Tango. Aww I loved their playing as a band before they started Tango'ing. Okay Chris definitely did much better this week. Although this is another dance I do feel kinda mixed on. I thought he did fairly well. He had good speed and kept up with dancing & partnering Dianne here. He had some decent staccato footwork though there were times he did dance it a little too stompy. His frame did seem inconsistent - sometimes it was firm and good but sometimes it was a little loose. But he did travel across the dance floor well. While there were a few iffy issues, I thought it was solid. I am still impressed with all that Chris can do (without being able to see anything). This is another dance where I felt the 6/7/8's and a 29 was fair. I'd go with a 29 or 30 here as well.

Sarah & Vito - Cha-Cha: OMG LOL Sarah's friend with the cute little white fluffy dog was so cute. But okay I did see this lady before and she's quite hilarious (though why didn't they say her name) - but lmaoo she was so critical of the dance in a funny way. :haha: And haha I loved how Vito was getting into the Madonna mood in rehearsals too. I do think "Like a Prayer" is an odd choice for a Cha-Cha but they did make it work. Sarah did a great job with looking like 80s Madonna. She performed and danced this Cha-Cha really well. I loved this sexy confident performance she was serving. She was full of sass and attitude. But what I did really love was her technical dancing. I thought her leg action was so sharp, precise and had great speed. She had the straight leg technique down well. They had great partnering dancing. And yeah this was yet another really strong and great dance from Sarah! ❤️ This dance was in another class from the previous 4 dances. OMG Shirley's dance demo of what she wanted more from Sarah was hilarious to me. :lmao: LOL Anton's wedgie comment to Vito. Aww I loved their reactions to Craig's 9 and Anton's 10. :haha: Hmm yeah I do mostly agree with the 9s but I don't think I can fault the 10 either. I'd go with a 36 or 37 here.

JB & Lauren - Couple's Choice: I'm really excited for JB's Couple's Choice and especially love how it's done to a medley of Bruno Mars, as he's one of my favorite artists of of the 2010s. Aww it was nice hearing JB's love and appreciation of music throughout his life. It was also great hearing the formation of JLS and how they had their first #1 hit - but aww at no X Factor mention. OH WAIT, his wife mentioned X-Factor and aww they met through there with how she was a dancer on that show. Awww their kids are so adorable too. But yeah I'm excited as this dance is so in JB's wheelhouse! And yep, JB absolutely slayed this! JB was so natural, had great rhythm, so much swag and was in the pocket/groove so well here. :bobo: He owned the dance/choreo and had a fun and fantastic celebrating and dancing in this! He was just a nautral here. I did love how the songs went seamless and he didn't miss a beat or step with the song changers.  It did come off as a dance that he's danced all of his life, which is the point for this dance style. He had so much joy and happiness while performing this. But yeah he just needs to bring this level of dancing/performing to all of his other dances. Ooh and Lauren did a great job and filled in really well here. Ugh I was mad when the dance ended because I wanted more and didn't want it to end. :dead: Aww Amy's comments on watching Lauren dance at Blackpool when Lauren was 8 and saying she was a big fan of hers was so sweet. ❤️ I knew he would score highly but wasn't sure if he'd get a 39 but yayy for that! I can't fault or disagree with the scores as I do agree with them.

Montell & Johannes - Waltz: Oooh I love how Montell & Johannes are dancing to my favorite Whitney song and I love all of their love & appreciation for Whitney. It's always lovely to see the vulnerable and emotional side of Montell. Montell always manages to surprise and impress me with these soft dances. She was so elegant and graceful with how she danced this. She had a good frame and good smooth footwork throughout. She danced this routine with so much ease and effortless grace. ❤️ I just love how delicate she was here and it just surprises me even though it shouldn't. OMGG Shirley can be too much when she interrupts Craig. I thought the 8 and three 9s for a 35 was pretty fair.

Jamie & Michelle - Samba: LOL Michelle with the "Careless Whisper" saxophone intro to get Jamie ready for the dance. LOL Jamie with his George Michael references in the intro. Ahh the Samba is a tough style and I did really work for Jamie here and hope he can bring the Samba flavor for the dance. Jamie has the George Michael look down. While this wasn't the best "Faith" Samba I've seen, it certainly wasn't the worst. I thought Jamie did a respectable and solid job with this Samba. Some moments did feel a little weird at times. But I ghouth he had good rhythm and partnering work with Michelle. I also thought he improved and had more hip action here than from his Salsa. This Samba was entertaining and fun. And lastly Michelle was really hot and fierce in this. Another pro who I couldn't stop looking at here. :haha: I'm kinda surprised Anton chose this dance to be so harsh on - I lowkey thought it was better than the judges gave it critic for, though they do make fair points. The dip in scores for Jamie was expected to happen as this wasn't as strong as his last two dances. The 7 and three 8s for a 31 was fair, though I'd up it to a 32. I feared it would have scored lower.

Tasha & Aljaž - Couple's Choice: Aww Tasha's connection to "What About Us" was touching and aww her talking about her life story of how she and her family dealt with her being deaf was really touching. Aww her comments of talking about her dance classes and how no one talked to her using sign language. Aww it was nice how she talked about her time on Love Island but awww at the negative comments she went through - with how she just wanted to represent the deaf community and online fandom making fun of how she talks - ugh that's soo rude and heartbreaking. :broken: Oh dear that video was a doozy. 😢 I'm excited to see Tasha doing a Contemporary/lyrical dance as I know this would suit her so well and it certainly did! Tasha did such an outstanding job with this dance. Her dancing was reallly beautiful. She danced and performed with a lot of heartfelt emotion. And not to mention, her technical dancing was absolutely fantastic. She had lovely and expressive lines and pointed her feet properly. I loved all of the lifts and how the executed the lifts so well. Tasha truly shone and did everything flawlessly here. OMGG dangg poooor Aljaž was breathing so heavy and out of breath there. I lowkey was worried for him. :haha: The 9 and three 10s were really great and fair here. I knew Craig wouldn't dish out the 10 this soon though it would have been deserved if he did.

Shayne & Nancy - Quickstep: Closing the show with The Beatles kinda makes sense as The Beatles are probably the biggest icons? It was cool seeing Shayne and Nancy traveling to all of these iconic The Beatles spots. Aww I do feel for Shayne with his multiple Bottom 2 appearances - and his comments of feeling like he looked stupid or trying too hard was kinda sad to hear. This was a reallly fun dance from Shayne & Nancy. The Beatles inspired intro was fun! It did feel like it took a long time for the Quickstep to start though not as long as the Paso from last week, at least. Once they got into the Quickstep, I thought Shayne did a great job with that. He had a good frame and was leading the dance well. He had great quick fast precise footwork here too. There was a little gapping at some parts but it wasn't as much as I had feared so that's good. Though was the costume change really needed? His shirt and jacket were pretty similar lol. But yeah this dance did a great job celebrating The Beatles! It was a fun and entertaining way to close the show. Do I think this was Shayne's best dance? Maybe so. I think the 8 and three 9s were fair - I'd probably go with a 34 or 35 here.

Rankings:
1. Tasha & Aljaž - Couple's Choice
2. JB & Lauren - Couple's Choice
3. Sarah & Vito - Cha-Cha
4. Montell & Johannes - Waltz
5. Shayne & Nancy - Quickstep
6. Jamie & Michelle - Samba
7. Sam & Nikita - American Smooth
8. Chris & Dianne - Tango
9. Wynne & Katya - Rumba
10. Pete & Jowita - Salsa

Icons Night was a fun night. It did start off a little slow but it got much better about halfway through. All of the strong dances were saved in the middle and end of the show, so that's why. 1/2, 4/5 and 7/8 are the tight interchangeable rankings for me, atm.

This season is so unpredictable. Anyone is getting in B2. I think contestants are getting almost same amount of audience votes this season. They only thing that is deciding their fate is whether they are performing in the first half or not.

I can only see Pete and Chris escaping the 1st half curse this season.

Week 7 Icons Week Results Show Thoughts!

- Aww yayy I'm happy that Shayne & Nancy had their big moment of being called safe first! They were so shocked and overly happy, yayy! 😄
- Oooh JB & Lauren saved 2nd. Great for them! That means we will get two completely new contenders for the Bottom 2.
- OMG wowww I can't believe Pete & Jowita were saved 3rd. I thought they were gonna save them towards the end. But this is bound to be a shocking night. 😮 Dang I'm really nervous how long Pete is going to stay and how many better dancers he'll outlast. :ph34rwave:
- Yayy Tasha & Aljaz saved 4th!
Aww Sam & Nikita were the first couple to land in the Bottom 2. :( I did wonder if the Taylor Swift vote would have been strong in the UK but I guess not. I did think Sam could possibly be in danger, so I'm not surprised she landed in the bottom. I feel bad for her but I get it and can't completely disagree with it. She handled the result well.
- OMG Claudia announcing to JB that he officially outlasted Aston. :dead: I'm happy for JB to have accomplish that. But ugh I am still disgusted about Aston's robbery.... 7 years later. :/ (as JB is too).
- Aww the Children in Need clip with Anton & the pros at the Disability Dance center was really sweet.
- Yesss SLAYY @ the Beyoncé Icons group performance that I could not wait for! :spaz:  Ooooh I love how they started off with a very different version of "DeJa Vu." Was not expecting that. :bobo: I knew "Run the World (Girls)" would be apart of it and looveed the energy in that part! :bobo: OMG I was not expecting "Formation" but livingg for that part too! Loved how it transitioned to "Single Ladies" and then ooooo yay "Texas Hold 'Em" after that! Oooh that was where the male pros came in. All of the pros did a great job here. But major props to Johannes who absolutely slayyyed it as the leading star of this pro dance! :omg:
- As for the second set of results, ugh... it was down to Montell & Johannes and Jamie & Michelle for the last couple in the Bottom 2. And ughh it ended up being Montell & Johannes. BOOOO at that. :( :broken: Montell handled it well but did seem shaken up about it. Definitely do not agree with this result. I'm just gonna think that the public assumed she was safe and didn't vote hard for her.
- Never heard of Dear Alice but it's a new pop boy band, I see. They performed "Best Day of Our Life" and they are from the TV show, Made in Korea. Interesting.... but they were fun and good performers. I like that they did a lot of dancing.
- Sam & Nikita vs. Montell & Johannes dance-off time! Sam's AS was good here but I did notice more of her tenseness. Also oof, I did notice a little messy moment from where she got up from that long cloth Nikita picked her up from. It didn't affect the dance that much but it was a little weird. Montell's Waltz was just as stunning and gorgeous as it was the first time. ❤️ Based off these dances, I do think Montell had the stronger dance so I would save her. Craig, Motsi and Anton all saved Montell. Shirley also would have saved Montell too.
- Aww Sam & Nikita. :( Sad for them to leave now. Sam had a really nice and touching farewell speech. She clearly loved the show and it was sweet hearing how she got that spring back in her step. And aww her feeling she had more to give and wanted to give it. :( While she wasn't one of my top favorites, I still would have liked for Sam to have lasted a little longer. Sam & Nikita had a lovely partnership! OMGG Sam at her farewell dance where she was lifting her leg up while laying down on the dance floor was hilarious and not what I was expecting. :dead:
- Oooh and FYI: Blackpool Week is happening in two weeks (which was what I was expecting - the Top 8 couples will make it there).

Week 8 dance spoilers:

- Tasha & Aljaz will be dancing the Quickstep, which is the top dance that Tasha has been dreading to do.

- Jamie & Michelle will dance the Argentine Tango. This was the dance he was most excited and anticipating with wanting to do. I think this should be another great dance for him.

Some heart-breaking news just announced (via ITT), Amy will no longer be competing with JB for the rest of the series. :( Lauren will be filling in dancing with JB from now on. I believe it was stated that Amy is recovering from a foot injury (and she also collapsed sometime between last week's shows). Wishing all the best and a speedy recovery for Amy, as she has gone through far too much these last few years. :(

Thoughts:

- I feel like there are a number of songs I don't know this week. :dead: Off the top of my head, I'm not familiar with Montell's, Sarah's, Chris', Jamie's and Pete's songs, which feels like a lot. :dead: Though I feel like I may have heard of Jamie's song before. But just not familiar with it. But looking forward to most of these dances nonetheless!
- Oooh kinda excited to see JB getting a Samba. Also this will be Lauren's first choreographed routine - looking forward to how they will dance latin and ballroom together. Though I'll definitely still will miss Amy.
- OMG absolutely LOVING that Tasha is dancing a Quickstep to "Fantasy." :spaz: "Fantasy" is amongst one of my all-time favorite songs so yayy for that! I never pictured a Quickste at all to it but very curious how this will go.
- It's interesting how we're getting another Cyndi Lauper Rumba. Ellie & Vito had a Cyndi Lauper Rumba on Week 8 last year so now it happens with Shayne. Worried for him as I could see him landing in the bottom 2 with it.
- Oh dear, Pete with a Couple's Choice already worries me that he's sailing through to the next week even though his vote is probably strong enough to do so even without doing that style.
- I think "Grace Kelly" as an AS should be a good choice for Wynne.

Couple's choice from Pete and Chris seems like we will have more votes incoming this week.

Ah yeah you're right. I can see them both being safe with that - which is worrisome for me as I feel I'm def gonna lose one of my faves this weekend. :shiver:

Pete's song is a cover of the version by Tina Turner

Ah thanks. I did hear that it's a like a slower version of the song which I was kind of expecting.
