sofronio opened the door for more filipino talents to audition and probably the voice management will be in favored of them because of the noise they are making, at the end of the day, the show is only for the rating, and thats what can filipino contestants can bring to the show…i still feel bad for kaylee coz she deserve to move forward, she should be the first pinoy to win the show instead of sof

Ever since Sofronio won he’s been all over my Filipino FB page despite never seeing any posts about him while the season was airing. I just knew this energy wouldn’t come until he won the show 😂 One of my former english teachers even posted about him. I also saw a meme that read:

”Sofronio has won 976,654,975 new proud relatives…. after winning the Voice USA” :haha:

Clay Aiken (Idol’s S2 runner-up) talked to radio DJ Zach Sang about why music reality shows don’t create stars anymore. Most is specifically about Idol, but they spend enough time discussing the Voice to make it relevant here:

I don’t think this will be it for him. He’ll probably mess up again at some point.

Probably he's been arrested multiple times at this point so another one wouldn't shock me.

as per sofronio on his local interview in the philippines, season 26 is one of the highest rating of the voice since it started

It is not, according to Wikipedia. S24 had better ratings.

Sofronio gave the show some international presence, at least.

Sorry to bust your bubble but the voice rating has been going down steadily. Fall rating has always been marginally better than spring but that it.

If we talk about the finale only S4 has a 4.4 Demo 15.59 Millions viewer S26 has a 0.43 demo 5.711 Milions viewer.  Slightly better than the spring 0.4 demo and 5.111 Milions viewer. Lower than S24 .53 and 6.67 Milions.

Maybe he talk about international viewership but NBC doesn't care about those.

I was listening to several "Dancing On My Own" covers on this show (just so i can keep ranting on Jeremy's version) and i find it funny that the (presumably) straight guys (Britton, Corey, Ryley) were the ones that kept Callum Scott's lyrics ("watching you kiss her) while the gay guys (Jeffery and Jeremy) changed it to "him".

I mean, the lyrics make sense either way for a gay guy (i unfortunately have fell i'm love with some straight guys, so keeping it "her" would be painfully accurate for me) but you would think the straight guys would try to keep it as less gay as possible lol. So idk,  it's just so ironic and funny to me. 😭😭

That’s what I’m talking about, there’s no way S26 had one of the best ratings. The average amount of viewers for the season was probably bottom 3 (if not the lowest ever).

My often-wonky crystal ball predicts that the coaching panel this season won't help reverse that trend. Michael has only had a season but doesn't feel, well, fresh let's say. I don't expect much from Adam. But for his history on the show, would they even consider him? And John is John.

No guesses about Kelsea's reception because I don't know a lot about her.

as i have said, one of the better rating, not the top, thats per sofronio after the executives talked to him about the show, so sofronio is lying and even the people at the show lying? am i gonna believe in you than them?

They’re not Calum’s lyrics. He was covering Robyn’s lyrics. Her version includes both the female pronouns (kiss “her”) AND referring to herself as the “not the GUY you’re taking home”.

I’m guessing that the Swedish songwriters didn’t understand that “the guy” would be interpreted as male, while  “you guys” is gender neutral. English is weird!

It’s similar to Britney’s “Hit Me Baby (one More Time)”. Those writers didn’t understand the not-so-subtle difference between “hit me” and “hit me up”.

Sofronio appeared on Kelly's show.

Wish he appeared there in person though, he was joining the interview via video call. It makes me wonder he has gone back to his home state already or maybe came back to the Philippines already. The finale show was this time last week.

By the way, The Voice of the Philippines also has the same format as the US nowadays - one upbeat, one "power ballad" and one duet. The only difference is that they have the power ballad for the result day. Since the show has moved to GMA Network we don't know how they will revive this show tbh.

From what I've seen, while The Voice Kids did have a similar format, to the OG Philippine version, albeit a smaller cast and only shown once a week.

The GMA version only has like one performance for the entire finale. Maybe one group performances with everyone, but it's eh. And they also started the trend of voting starting immediately when the show starts at the start of the show and ends pretty quickly. So like it really does encourage the only coaches with fans to win.

Honestly, GMA has sort of ruined it entirely. Like some of the comments I see are all just about the coaches at this point. And the show just really falls flat. They're trying to make it their own, but it just doesn't have the same energy.

I did find it interesting tho has similar the voice usa format is to the filipino version now. At least with the teens version, they also have 14 per team, 2 steals in a battle, then the 3-way knockouts, where it's a bloodbath since there's no steals. Then the second half is more similar to the kids version where they choose 2 among the final 5 I believe, then semi-finals. Then same format for finale

I have been thinking about how much they invested in S21 (with Ariana as a coach, Ed Sheeran as a mentor and six live shows) and how lackluster have been the seasons after it.

It's like they went "Nah, we invested a lot on this show last season and it didn't reflect on the ratings. So, let's go back to two seasons per year since our Eurovision rip-off is a flop, but now invest as little as possible on each one, starting with no mega-mentor on S22. Oh, and go find another young star to be a coach but one that is way cheaper than Ariana, please".
