Yeah if you count Cassadee there has been 3 in total.  2 were super young girls that team minivan probably envisioned being their kids. And the other just flat out sung her male competitors and won.

The show doesn’t do them any favors either. They rarely get pimped, and usually get saddled with awful song choices.

Having more black male winners than female solo winners in the span of 9 seasons is wild. There's usually been at least one black male in the finale every seasons since then too (I think only S17, S22 and S24 didn't have any, some seasons had 2). Last season in particular was brutal for females in general, as there was an all male top 4 in a season where only 5 men even made the top 12. It feels harder than ever for them, lol.

 

Crazy how in S16 it was a 50/50 split.

There´s 2 things that I still wonder to this day as to how they happened:

 

- How did Team Blake had 2 black females and 1 white guy (Kyla, Spensha and Pryor), and yet the white guy was the only one to miss the finale?

 

- Apart from Kelly´s gift of gab, how did GNT manage to connect with the audience considering their widely known distate for groups.

Very simple. Pryor’s rasp was very polarizing, and he overdid it in those later rounds.

Edit: I forgot about Kaleb, but he just wasn’t very good and Brynn was getting all of the Team Kelly votes.

The audience couldn't resist to these perfect harmonies, i guess. Also, i'm sure their distate for Black women is a lot worse.

Grace got all perfect song choices but the producers needed a Niall's win anyway so it didn't matter.

I imagine the producers wanted a Blake win but with Grace and N**VAS in the finale, there must have been some vote-splitting. I wonder what would have happened if the finale could only have four people instead and N**VAS missed it.

They both ended to perform their set before anyone else. Not only add, they both performed their set AND the producers still felt the need to add two performers right after them. And i think the voting started after the episode ended??? That apparently didn't happen in the past (i'm not sure if this point is true, pls correct me if i'm wrong) 

 

The vote splitting that there could have been was minimal, because the audience didn't buy NOIVAS, he was 5th place for a reason. But even then, it wouldn't have been any need for vote splitting if they didn't suddenly change the rules to one vote per account. 

 

So no, they didn't want Blake to win.

There have been two instances where a female country singers is runner-up where they Say "cLoSEsT v0tE eVEr". Imagine what would have happened if they didn't pimp the hell out of their opponents.

1. Kyla had great momentum from her ko onward with her semi-final sealing the deal. Spenshas a little more shocking but she also had a good growth arc + was country + TB voting power. Meanwhile Pryor was regressing each week and his song choices were becoming uninspired

 

2. GNT had insanely tight harmonies + their song choices were very clever and voter bait

I heard a lot of Davon Fleming's voice in this song, I knew that he became her background singer since leaving the show, but that male background singer here is nothing alike him. Am I missing anything?

Yeah he's obviously not there but I'm pretty sure he still works with her.

It doesn´t specify that´s gonna be country themed, but by logic, it oughta be. 

 

So you think country singers are gonna start ditching The Voice to join there? The idea seems promising.

It looks like it could be a cool show. I don't think it's going to fundamentally change anything though. Because you could just go on both if you wanted to. Plus how many people could actually go onto that show? Probably not a ton.

It is country-themed.  Hopefully, all of the country singers will go there and leave The Voice alone.

If I was a country singer, I’d definitely choose that show over The Voice, even with the limited information we have about it.

I think it could cut down on the number of country artists, but country obviously won't vanish all of a sudden.

Maybe that could put the country contestants on The Voice at an even bigger advantage though? Who knows.
