I know it's not exactly the Voice and the format is different, but if any of you are ever interested or bored and want other singing competition shows to watch (regardless of whether you understand the language or not), I recommend Youth Icon (currently taking place) and Mizo Idol. Not many people in the world know of us anyway,so I had to advertise for my people,so hope you'll understand 🙏

Kelly and Miranda slaying a duet of "Good Luck Babe"

I will never forgive her for moving her show to New York. Anxiously waiting for her full version without Miranda :haha:

Just to stir up discussion.

Which IPASOY version do you prefer between Danny Joseph and NOIVAS? (try to only take into account the performance itself.. lol)

No point doing a poll on who has the best version though since we know Jacquie will win.

Ok, i just watched (i think) all of the covers of that song on The Voice USA, so, let's rank!

8. Joe Maye - This was lacking. He did good enough to impress the judges, which is expected from a Blind Audition, but still, not enough fierceness or passion, which is needed for this song. (His duet with Xtina was another story, tho, but i'm not counting that one, sorry).

7. Rob Taylor - Good performance but why the high voice?? It was unnecessary and it killed the whole vibe for me. Not a fan of it at all. That dragged down the whole thing for me.

6. Danny Joseph - this was really good, but his tone doesn't really work for me. It has a grating quality that doesn't sound very nice to my ears. Still, great job, but for this song i prefer more soulful voices.

5. Cami Clune - Mmm, ok. I noticed that i haven't watched this on full since it aired. This was a theatrical take, which is her style. Her tone sounded gorgeous on it, but i somehow was unsatisfied?? Like, i was expecting at least some more powerful moments, but at the end it felt like it didn't go anywhere. Her Playoffs performance was a lot better than this.

4. NOIVAS - Y'all are gonna hate me for this, but this was honestly really good. Like, it had the right amount of fierceness that this song needs, and it was overall a solid vocal. His performance was unfortunately pure and hard cringe. I guess he tried to mimick Screamin Jaw Hankins's style but he failed miserably at it.

3. Beth Griffith - Ok, this is a more subtle take on the song but unlike Cami's take, i was satisfied by it. It has a sensual and misteryous vibe, and her tone is just so smooth and easy to the ears that makes the whole thing captivating. It was somehow like Cami's cover in that sense, but well... better, especially because she actually showed some power towards the end. This woman was robbed.

2Chris Weaver - He did a good job at almost capturing the essence of the original (without needing to be cringe like Mr. Wright). This was a powerful take but at the same time i never felt like he oversang or anything. It had the perfect balance of fierceness and subtleness. And i absolutely adore his soulful tone. Off-topic but i'd have rather have him over Davon on the lives on that season.

1. Jacquie Lee. - On the other hand, well, this was not subtle, at all. This girl was all about power, like, she didn't held back, not even a little bit. And it worked?? Well, for me, absolutely YES! I was SHOOK the whole performance. It feels surreal everytime i watch it. Listening to her hitting all that notes with such ease is amazing. And this was LIVE. She definitely put a spell on me.

How you feel about Danny Joseph is how I feel about Jacquie Lee when she hits the really high notes. Too screechy for me.

Other than that I agree with mostly everything you say even though my ranking would be quite different.

I felt pretty bad for Joe maye. Christina Aguilera didn't have to go 100% and completely outdo him like that...

Also, NOIVAS's KO is still one of the best of that round. Though it's the only performance of I ever go back to.

Personal stuff aside, regrettably, I agreed lol. I remembered hyping up to that performance back then. Right now I considered it cringey, but his vocals are still respectable. Not to take away anything from him tho.

Definitely top 2 performances from him besides "Cold".

Purely from a vocal standpoint, NOIVAS was honestly better than Danny.

nvm i just rewatched and i take it back, Savion's high notes are even less pleasant.

I got you, watching it back again and he sounded manipulative just like his behaviors post-show :giggle:that's the thing that made his performance not for me anymore.

I'm surprised you even rewatched the performance.

It's pretty even for me, I'm not a fan of either

I just rewatched a few of NOIVAS' performances and I honestly didn't realize just how unpleasant and messy his voice was for his entire run. I remember this forum turned on him around when the lives started but truthfully his entire run was sloppy

I think his prelive performances would have been as messy as his lives without the autotune. The sources said he was good, but I’ve been told you can’t hear the singers very well in there, so I always take it with a grain of salt. There was always a lot of EXTRA associated with his performances, which probably made it seem like they better than they were.
