Kenneth96 Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Not related to The Voice, but Carrie Underwood has just been announced as Katy Perry's replacement on Idol. So following The Voice's footsteps last season, Idol will have two country singers on its 3-person panel. 4

Kenneth96 Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 The Voice Australia will not give its winner a record deal with Universal anymore. Instead, alongside the cash prize, the winner will receive "an artist development package" with an Australian record label. Kate Miller-Heidke said it's a better deal for the winner. https://tvtonight.com.au/2024/08/no-deal-this-year-the-voice-has-no-universal-music-prize.html Considering almost no winner from both The Voice US and AU received support from Universal to really have a career, this move from The Voice Australia can be considered better for the contestants. I remember Blake and Adam once said that they were glad that their artists didn't win because they wouldn't get stuck in that crappy contract. P/s: The UK version ditched the recording label from its last season. Instead, the winner gets a luxury holiday to Mauritius alongside a cash prize. The Voice UK has been a low-quality version since its move to ITV, so it's better for the winner anyway. Kevin Simm (the winner of The Voice UK's last season on BBC) even criticized the show and Universal for not supporting him after his season ended. 1

Kevin Simm (the winner of The Voice UK's last season on BBC) even criticized the show and Universal for not supporting him after his season ended. The thing I could never understand is why Universal/Republic wanted the deal on their end. The deal has had to have been renewed and/or renegotiated several times over 25 seasons. Why haven’t they pulled out? It made some sense in the early days because they received the label’s share of all the studio recording downloads. Basically a bonus for little effort. American Idol, by contrast, has switched labels multiple times. And that show had a good track record. 4
+Dany Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 https://deadline.com/2024/08/amazon-in-talks-to-sell-mgm-alternative-the-voice-vanderpump-rules-1235804252/ Quote Amazon In Talks To Sell MGM Alternative, Production Group Behind ‘The Voice’ & ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Deadline understands that the company is considering a sale of its unscripted production studio. The unit is behind shows such as NBC’s The Voice, CBS’ Survivor, ABC’s Shark Tank and Fox’s Beat Shazam and also incorporates two production companies I have no idea how those thing works so the next is just me pulling thing out of my @ss The Article said that it was sold to Amazon in 2022 and the new direction took over in November 2022. Well since 2023 the number of live show has been cut drastically. Is that a cost cutting decision of the production studio??? S22 Fall 2022 Live top 16 -> 13 ->10 ->8(semi)-> 5(finale) S23 Spring 2023 TAPED Playoffs: Live Semi top 8 -> Final 5 . 3

TeamAudra Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 (edited) I see Bryce Leatherwood is still with UMG Nashville. I’m only mentioning this as a reminder that there now appears to be an option for country contestants that didn’t previously exist. I don’t think Bryce’s signing has been discussed much here. It’s a step in the right direction. The question I have is whether this would apply to future country winners as well. Edited September 1, 2024 by TeamAudra 4

It makes sense because she didn't have much memorable moments on The Voice AU yet, but already went on to sing with a contestant in the UK debut episode. And you guys do know which version is both competitive and family friendly at the same time? Or I'm being too sensitive but if she's that smart then we are seeing Kelsea's replacement for S28 (or S29) already. 2

She’d be amazing. And I agree; she also is fighting way harder in the UK so far than AU. Edited September 2, 2024 by Mathacoo200315 3
