Someone648
What Am I Doing/Why? Remember that thing we had a couple months ago where everyone and their mom kept ranking their favorite blinds, battles, etc. of the season from 48-1? I think I've mentioned it like three times in passing here on IDF, but I didn't particularly stop. I thought that with the Blake Shelton era of the show officially over, it was a good opportunity to rank my top 50 blind auditions of all time (so far), so I did some scrolling through Wikipedia to review, re-listened to a couple dozen, took notes, and realized it was probably better to make the list to a top 100 because I was so indecisive about everything. Then, after much deliberation, I decided to make it a top 150. Then, as I struggled with that, I ended up with a top 200 and refused to go any higher. That's over a thousand auditions I've considered/relistened to over the past month or two. And after shuffling and sorting a Word document around for that long, I think I've finally completed my list that I'm satisfied with. Why? No good reason other than I felt like it Am I planning on this being super interesting? Not really, but it'll be interesting for me to revisit this list in the near future when I think "damn... that didn't age well" or "that should've ranked higher." In fact I don't even know if there's an audience for this - it's the middle of the summer and IDF is in its dead season before spoilers begin anyways. - My Guidelines: I am ONLY looking at blind auditions. I will not be taking into account each contestant's whole run on the show, even if they're among my all-time favorites/in my signature (some of them didn't make the list lol). That also means winners/finalists get zero priority. I have battle eliminations scoring high above winners, and several winners are missing. Maybe there's even a battle elimination in my top 20, who knows? (Spoiler - there is. And I'm sure many will agree it's worthy of its placement.) Also maybe your own favorites, kind reader, will be scoring much, much, much lower than they would on your own list (Here's looking at you, #126) Are all seasons represented? I took into account all seasons (since I watched from season 1)... and every season except for season 1 has an entry on my list. Are all genres represented? Didn't care too much for genre in my ranking. If you know a lot anything about my taste, you can predict a lot of the contestants that are on my list. But putting the rock/alternative/Latino/R&B/pop stuff, there's still country, folk, and everything else. I will be doing clues like I did with my S23 blind audition ranking. BUT that's over a decade that I'm working with and I don't expect people to just randomly pull things out of their memory when I can be referring to like a single contestant from season 4 or another from season 19. SO, I'm still working on those hints, but I'll be color-coding them to refer to the seasons by eras: Blue: Season 2 - Season 6 (The early days) Green: Season 7 - Season 12 (The middle seasons) Red: Season 13 - Season 17 (The seasons that kind of felt like a vibe shift) Purple: Season 18 - Season 23 (The common/COVID/Post(?)-COVID era) I don't have a set schedule as to how I'm gonna do this, but I'll be doing my best to post updates as frequently as possible. Who do y'all think I put at #1? Hope y'all stay tuned! Edited April 28 by Someone648 test

Someone648
Clues for Part 1: (200-191) Blue: Season 2 - Season 6 (The early days) Green: Season 7 - Season 12 (The middle seasons) Red: Season 13 - Season 17 (The seasons that kind of felt like a vibe shift) Purple: Season 18 - Season 23 (The common/COVID/Post(?)-COVID era) 200: A bold song choice, an unexpected chair turn, and an even more unexpected memory for another coach. 199: Not the fastest one of the season, but it did take only seven words for the first 3 to turn. 198 - The only coach not to turn for her really regretted it... but the coach ended up getting what they wanted that same episode. 197 - Silk, Poetry, and "I'm Just A Girl!" 196 - Not a song that needed this instrument, but the cover was just as fine as it could be. 195 - A few more seconds would've added this girl to a very exclusive (and unfortunate) list 194 - I believe this is the only "soft" take on one of the most frequently covered songs we've had on this show. 193 - 8th just didn't cut it 192 - A shocker in the public vote sent this singer packing, and they weren't the only one that the coach was upset about not getting a PV. 191 - Thankfully their mom wasn't around to make their run any more difficult. Might turn this into a game and award points based on if anyone can guess correctly? (I believe this was @jarmon's idea, right?)
