I was able to play the video without VPN.

Probably hard to be comfortable with a song when you're unsure of what the words mean.

She introduced Kaylee as "Kaylee Brooke"... I wonder why they dropped her last name.

Maybe that’s what she’d like to go by professionally? “Brooke” is a lot easier to remember than “Shimizu”

Maybe. We'll see when she releases her first original song. 🙂

Not sure if this video is available in the US but the part where Kaylee duets with Klarisse de Guzman can be found around the 8 minute mark.

I will say though, as someone who knows that song, Klarisse kinda ate her up :haha: I didn't get the sense that Kaylee is fully comfortable singing in Tagalog.

I have no clue what she’s saying in the song, so I can’t judge it. But, I’ll give her credit. It takes guts to do it for the first time, in front of an arena full of Filipinos, and knowing it’s going to be aired on TV in the Philippines! Hopefully, her goal is to focus on singing in English from now on.

She posted it on IG too.

She also posted this video of her singing the national anthem recently, at a convention. I believe her dad is a member of this sheet metal union.

She also sang the bilingual version of O’ Canada. Part in English, part in French.

Not only that, but the original singer (Morissette) is known as one of the most skilled Filipino vocalists ever.

Interestingly, Morissette was a Semifinalist on the first season of our version of The Voice, and the person who Kaylee dueted with was the runner up of that season.

Due to the smalller industry, making it far on a singing show in the Philippines can get you much farther than it would in the States, provided you are seen as marketable.
