It was time for John to go 😂

Honestly, I like John, but I was kind of over him as a coach.  Three times out of four, he hasn't turned for his songs, he's punished someone else on his team for singing one of his songs, and some of his coaching decisions have made little sense.

With Blake leaving, I feel like the show is gonna enter the cancelling risk zone, and I'm surprised it survived as long as it did. I talked to some people about it and I compared The Voice in its current state to the birthday party of a kid where the invitees are forced to keep playing the same games over and over again, and they're all fixed for the birthday kid (Blake) to win, with his sister (Kelly) winning here and there.

Pretty much what kept the show alive is the country demo who watches for Blake, and without him there's no guarantee the show will be able to sustain itself. I think they should go all in and get the biggest names they possibly can and try to work on making this show relevant again, but it might be too late.

The issue is they don’t have the budget now to get big names and, as we saw with Ariana, it didn’t increase the viewers anyway. It may increase online interest in the show, but if it doesn’t result in increased TV ratings, it doesn’t actually do much for the show. I think the show can still coast for awhile with habitual viewers, but I don’t see it getting any bigger than it is now no matter what they do.

wait what
since when had Jason ever been a coach on the voice

He was the advisor for Team Kelly in S21.

Here's a video of Jason and Kelly talking about The Voice and Blake.

I suggested Jason Aldean as possible coach for S24 yesterday. I think he'll be a good coach and he'll have great chemistry with Kelly.

That makes him a bad coach?  And I don’t recall John ever punishing someone for singing his song.

They will now have plenty of money, Blake was receiving at least 13 million per season (26 million per year), John was receiving at least 13 million per season, even Gwen too getting at least 13 million, Camila got 8 million

I'm pretty sure Chance was very cheap and Nial is probably around the same as Camila, maybe a bit more, so starting with S24 without having to pay over 30 million to get Blake, John and Gwen, only Kelly will be receiving a big check, so in terms of money they will have budget to get at least 1 big name if they wanted but the question here is that they need to fill Blake spot with someone in the same lane, which unless they go for Dolly Parton, i believe they will not even have to pay that much.

The Voice has been trying hard to lure a younger audience for a while now. It hasn't worked. If they want to keep the reliable viewers that still watch television programs, the answer isn't continuing to hire 20-something coaches like Miley, Nick, Ariana, Camila, Niall, or Chance—whether or not they are big names that come with a high price tag.

@Shinukithose are good points and may be valid. I was more saying they can’t afford multiple big names if they are trying to keep costs down and from what I’ve heard it seems like NBC is actively trying to cut costs across the board, so I don’t see them spending money they’re saving by not have to pay big checks to the current coaches. Niall and Chance and artists at their level aren’t going to increase the viewership of the show in my opinion. As I said though, I’d argue that basically no one they could realistically get would do much to increase the audience at this point. The best they can hope for at this point is to hold steady. Again, just my opinion.

"He'll then be working on his next album, due for release in early or mid-2023.

"Unfortunately the timing of it means that I won’t be able to come back for this next season of The Voice," he shared. "I will be finishing this album, put it out and then we will be resuming our Vegas residency, which we hadn’t been able to do through the pandemic"

Hmm so Keith will be in America during mid 2023, wouldnt be that perfect timing for S24 if they're back to 2 seasons in a year? :giggle:

Blake evidently plans to continue performing next year. He's among the headlining artists of Country Jam 2023. The festival runs from June 22 to June 24 at Jam Ranch in Mack, Colorado.

I think the main reason Blake is leaving The Voice is he didn't want the commitment of coaching two seasons per year—especially if Gwen wasn't joining both panels.

He always does those types of festivals in the summer even when filming the Voice, but I agree going back to two seasons a year is likely a big part of why he is leaving now.

Yes, I know. But someone suggested soon after the news broke that Blake was quitting music along with The Voice, probably based on Blake selling the ownership of his commercially-released master recordings to Influence Media Partners on October 5.

Although I hate Blake leaving, he couldn’t stay around forever. I think a good coaching panel for season 24 could be Kelly Clarkson, Justin Bieber, Lizzo, and Jason Aldean. I feel like that would fill up a lot of genres. Kelly being country and pop, Justin being more pop and hip hop, Lizzo being soul, pop, and r&b, and Jason being country.

I don't necessarily think Blake leaving the show means Gwen is too, doesn't seem like he's leaving in bad terms at all, and while Blake does look a bit tired on S22, Gwen is totally the opposite, she seems more energetic than ever, so i don't think she's done with The Voice, and still having her as a coach could be a benefit, imagine Blake being a Gwen's advisor in the future :haha:
