The set of guest artists is quite low budget isn't it? Remember when we had Bruno Mars, Celine Dion, Zayn, Justin Bieber or Coldplay performing on the show?

It is very low budget yes.

I think both Mara and Huntley will appeal more to the audience than Nini.

If I have to do power rankings now, I'd put Ruby, Huntley, and Mara at the top.

Not only is the set low budget, they are all there to perform solo. They used to have the coach duets on Monday and get a guest celeb to sing with each finalist on Tuesday.

The scaled-downess of the finale is really quite sad.

Like many other things since the devastating COVID-19 pandemic, The Voice—especially the live portion of the series—has gone downhill. Apparently nothing will ever be quite the same again.

When you think about how many things there used to be compared to now, it's just sad how much the format and budget cuts have changed things over the years.

-Studio recordings for every round (pre-taped rounds and some live playoff recordings got cut from S15 on)

-5-7 weeks of live shows per season (6 being the norm)

-Coach+contestant performances outside of the finale in the first few weeks of lives (which they now have too few weeks of lives to do)

-Random contestant performances during live elimination shows (such as Meghan Linsey/India Carney/Koryn Hawthorne singing Faithfully on S8 semis eliminations, stuff like that)

-3 performances in the finale per contestant (one of which is the coach+contestant duet that got moved to Tuesdays)

-3 or 4 finalists

-Celebrity+contestant duets in the finale (Katie Kadan+Adam Lambert, Maelyn Jarmon+Sarah Mclachlan, etc)

-Individual Battle advisors per coach (remember when they got freaking Cher and Celine Dion as advisors???), sometimes individual KO advisors

-Finalists bringing back other contestants on results night for a performance together

Maybe there's other things, and I don't think the pre-taped portions really changed much outside of advisors and studio recordings, but damn the live shows in particular really tanked hard.

Exactly. It's sad that we hear so few live performances from the contestants now.

They just realized how much they can cut from the show without having major consequences (essentially anything that doesn’t involve the coaches).

I see Bryce Leatherwood will perform a song called the finger tomorrow and I was wondering if it was any good

I haven't listened to it but I highly doubt it's any good.

I just listened to it. I’ve heard worse songs, but it’s not something I would ever listen to again.

Can't wait to hear Bryce, totally destroyed Morgan and Bodie in the Finale, had total moments that Minivan just couldn't deny.

Also the most consistent tbh, remember his iconic KO? Playoffs/IS was such a great week too, nobody is shocked he won. :teeheewave:

Will also love to hear him on performance night, definitely won't take away from the actual artists in the Finale, TPTB is clearly fair to everyone.

(If you couldn't tell, I just need to be petty for a moment, everyone needs to vent from time to time) :haha:

I mean if they wanted a finger song, they could've just had Morgan on. 🙃

That’s not even one of my favorite songs of hers, but it’s much better than Bryce’s finger song.

She was clearly sending a message to someone with that. :haha:

“She got the ring, I got the finger.” 🤷‍♂️

I’m hoping this just sounds worse out of context because…

Wait it’s even clunkier after reading the song’s lyrics 💀 Were the writers trying to pull off an “I’ve got your picture, she’s got you” ?

She kept the ring and flipped him off on her way out, so he doesn’t have anything other than that memory.
