Inspired by @Hsamid thread about Australian winners, i decided to make one for UK winners. Yeah, that show is pretty much on zombie state. But there have been really good winners, even on very weak seasons. So, there is that

The next vídeo is a compilation from the auditions of the first 8 winners

0:08 Leanne Mitchell - "If I Were A Boy"  (Season 1)

1:45 Andrea Begley - "Angel" (Season 2)

3:39 Jermain Jackman - "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" (Season 3)

5:31 Stevie Mccrorie - "All I Want" (Season 4)

7:17 Kevin Simm - "Chandelier" (Season 5)

9:12 Mo Adeniran - "Iron Sky" (Season 6)

11:00 Ruti Olajugbagbe - "Budapest" (Season 7)

12:41 Molly Hocking - "Take My Breath Away" (Season 8 )

Blessing Chitapa - "I'd Rather Go Blind" (Season 9)

Craig Eddie - "Make It Rain" (Season 10)

Anthonia Edwards - "Unconditionally" (Season 11)

I'll be honest, I've always thought of The Voice UK as amateurish compared to almost every other version of the show.

I don't know if it's something to do with the post editing or audio quality, or maybe they do next to nothing in terms of auto tone and pitch correction. But everyone sounds so raw. Almost every performance ive heard on the voice UK has messy moments, especially the recent seasons.

Anyways, my pick is Ruti. I hear a bit of Florence inspiration in her voice, but with a more rounder, darker tone. Quality voice and I think the most mistake free of the auditions here.

The other standouts are Mo and Steve, both of whom have a lot of raw power and passion. Holly is also pretty good.

Was unimpressed by everyone else, most would have gotten 2 chair turns at most on The Voice USA and maybe that's generous.

Leanne is by far my least favourite here, what a sharp mess, I'm surprised she turned any chairs tbh.

That's the main problem for me. Ruti sounded great despite the quality though. Sounded heavenly throughout the season and that Cranberries song fit her like a glove.

First time seeing all except Craig

Leanne - okay like the first half was a major yikes and maybe the second half wasn't much better, but I heard potential there, I can see why they turned

Andrea - I got nothing from that performance (other than maybe slight annoyance), felt lifeless and the vibrato was way too much

Jermain - he was pretty good? I've just heard better versions (Trevin, LaKisha from AI) so this one wasn't as exciting by comparison but yeah definitely something there

Stevie - delivered it with the proper passion even if vocals weren't perfect, I actually almost forgot how much this song annoys me lol (it's a good song but like cmon Kodaline has a whole discography of other songs that would work just fine and we have to get this one over and over????)

Kevin - don't really understand what made those 3 turn at that exact time tbh? I mean he tackled it without falling apart so that's something I guess, but kinda meh overall on a song that requires strong vocals and emotion

Mo - never heard of this song, but he's got a cool grit to his voice that somehow didn't feel like too much, like Stevie I think he had the emotion down perfectly

Ruti - this performance, her voice just kinda exuded "cool" to me, her vocal choices and changes to the melody all worked so well

Molly - another unfamiliar song, but I liked both the song and her performance, the one little critique I have is I felt like she was kind of a "typical" female indie voice and I wish she did something more to distinguish herself, but still very good

Blessing - some strong moments, but overall felt too underdeveloped for me

Craig - solid, again I've just heard better versions of this song, but I was familiar with this one already and I think it's strong, I can see why Olly wanted him so much

Anthonia - tbh first thing that came to mind was "all over the place" and not in a good way... I didn't like this at all

Would actively relisten

1. Ruti

Great/good (relatively interchangeable here)

2. Mo

3. Craig

4. Stevie

5. Molly

There was an attempt at least

6. Blessing

7. Jermain

Somehow didn't hate this?

8. Leanne

Boring

9. Kevin

Actively dislike

10. Andrea

11. Anthonia

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but as far i know, his cover of that song was the first one of all Voice franchise. It went viral at the time and i has been collecting views since then. The original video has currently 40 million views on Youtube.

I think he definitely had some influence in making that song so popular on singing competitions.

This is one of these times where i mostly agree with you lol. Never got the hype about Kevin tbh. The only thing where i disagree is that i would have Craig lower, not a lot lower, but lower.

Me trying to find a decent performance in Series 11:

Awkward Bye Bye GIF by eUnited

Seriously the only one that I actively like in that season is Rachel Modest. Everyone else really sounded like they were singing karaoke or something... most of them are really pitchy, and the audio made it even worse.

I can't believe Tom picked Anthonia over her. I don't care if she won, she won because of lack of competition and that's it. Rachel would have been an actual worthy winner.

I dont know about the other contestants that season, but Rachel Modest would probably would be my favourite in quite a few seasons of TVUSA. Great singer, but the emotion she sings with is soo good.

Didn't even realise Mo Adrean was on the list. He's one of my favs as well.

I'm glad you like him. He's like a NOIVAS prequel but he has more authenticity.

I can kinda see that. Mo doesn't use much runs and doesnt have the range of NOIVAS but is more on pure power, I'd say he's less messier of a singer despite having a more raw sound

One thing though, Mo's live performances are miles better. He sounds exactly the same as he did prelives.

can't really say the same for NOIVAS, the dip in quality once live shows started was very noticeable.
