Solid performance. Showed us a new side to his voice, he can sing ballads as well as uptempo songs

 

 

Matt Wilson - Say You Won’t Let Go by James Arthur - 5

Smooth voice. Unfortunately, the falsettos were off and weak.

 

Nailyah - Baby Love by Mother’s Finest - 7.

Solid performance barring a few unpleasant and off notes.

 

Warren Peay - Up There Down Here by Zach Williams - 7.5

once again a solid vocal from Warren. I do wish he would do a bit more with his voice sometimes, but there's no denying he's been consistent.

 

 

Kaeyra - Bruises by Lewis Capaldi - 8

she made this look easy. It's not 

beautiful low notes, powerful belts, cool af tone. There's not a lot she doesn't have as a vocalist. Small nitpick, but I do agree with Clark that her runs could definitely be tighter.

 

 

 

Mariah Faith - Cry to Me by Solomon Burke - 5.5

cool raspy tone, but I think her runs were not well executed.

 

Iam Tongi - The Winner Takes It All by ABBA - 7.5

Solid vocal, sweet tone. But I do think this performance lacks the emotional impact of some of his others.

 

Haven Madison - Mean Girls by Leanna Crawford - 7.

huh? am I hearing the same things y'all are hearing? I'm not the biggest fan of her but this is a vast improvement from her last few performances. Few pitch issues. Showed some nice soft notes and belting range and sold the song.

 

Oliver Steele - Too Soon by Himself - 5.5

I really liked Oliver to begin with but he starting to fade a bit into the background. He messed up a few big notes.

 

Lucy Love - Boulders by Herself - 7.

Great emotional connection to the song and once again, interesting vocal choices. I do think some of her runs didn't go as smoothly as they could have. Which stops this from getting an 8.

 

Hannah Nicolaisen - Somebody to Love by Queen - 7

I don't think she quite has the technical chops to take this gigantic song to the next level. But solid vocals nonetheless and one of the most distinct tones in the comp

 

Olivia Soli - I Surrender by Celine Dion - 7.

not gonna lie this sounded a bit karaoke to me. Don't get me wrong. She hit the notes, she didn't have any vocal issues. But I don't think she did the song justice and lacked the power and projection to take it to greatness territory.

 

 

Marybeth Byrd - People Pleaser by Herself - 6.5

pretty tone, very emotionally connected. but this was one of her weakest performances, there were a few off moments vocally that keep it from being higher.

 

Michael Williams - Lose You To Love Me by Selena Gomez - 7

pretty voice, he had like one off moment but solid for the most part.

 

Paige Anne - Say Something by A Great Big World - 5.5

don't like rating her this low. She started off gorgeous and I think she has one of the prettiest tones in the competition. Unfortunately, the second half was pretty unpleasant and almost sounded like she was shouting.

 

 

Nutsa - Unbreak My Heart by Toni Braxton - 6.5

A Few pitchy moments, I do think she's a bit exposed singing ballads since her vocal issues are easier to focus on. But she sang it well for the most part

 

Tyson Venegas - 180 by Himself - 6

high notes were rough, rest was solid 

 

Megan Danielle - Holy Water by We The Kingdom - 8.5

love the texture of her voice. Great raspy vocals, some very good high notes and runs too. One of the few performances I can say didn't have any issues vocally.

 

Colin Stough - Pretty Heart by Parker McCollum - 5

for the first time I think he deserves the low ratings he's been getting. Dude sang in one octave and managed to give a shaky performance. He can do better

 

Wé Ani - Skyfall by Adele - 8.0

 Wé still shows us things that we didn't know she was capable of.  I did not know she had it in her to sustain a 10 second belt, I also think pitch wise this is her best performance to date and her lower notes were closer to how she sounded on the voice prelives. Great stuff.

I liked most of this but the ending got a bit too yelly for me. Prior to this, I was iffy on him making the Top 10 by votes, but I think this was good enough to do the trick.

 

Matt Wilson - Say You Won’t Let Go by James Arthur - 6

 

This saddened me because I really like Matt but he was pretty rough here. Pitch-wise it was very inconsistent. Plus, I hated the song choice. I just hope he redeems himself tomorrow.

 

Nailyah - Baby Love by Mother’s Finest - 7

 

The start was weird and there were some bum notes here and there but overall I thought it was solid enough. She’s a cool artist.

 

Warren Peay - Up There Down Here by Zach Williams - 7.5

 

Chris Stapleton Lite did his thing, and did it well as always. I thought the performance got stronger as it went along. This guy is underrated.

 

Kaeyra - Bruises by Lewis Capaldi - 8.25

 

Upbeat Kaeyra is fine, but just like with her audition, she really shined here with just her at the piano. Exquisite tone and phrasing. If all was right in the world, this would send her to the Top 10 but we’ll see.

 

Mariah Faith - Cry to Me by Solomon Burke - 4.5

 

I actually really like this song but this was another poor performance from Mariah. I always feel awkward watching her because her confidence on stage doesn’t match her hopelessly out-of-tune vocals.

 

Iam Tongi - The Winner Takes It All by ABBA - 8

 

Iam is hit or miss for me because he sings every song more or less the same way and I don’t always feel like his style works on the songs he covers. I dug this though.

 

Haven Madison - Mean Girls by Leanna Crawford - 6

 

She displayed a sweet tone here that I didn’t notice before but this whole song felt so Disney TV movie in the worst way possible. So cheesy.

 

Oliver Steele - Too Soon by Himself - 6.5

 

His roughest vocal yet but I liked the song and still do love his tone so those are redeeming factors for me.

 

Lucy Love - Boulders by Herself - 7.75

 

I thought this was her best performance in a while. Her enunciation is interesting to say the least but I’d argue it makes her stand out more. I think she has a good shot at Top 10 after that.

 

Hannah Nicolaisen - Somebody to Love by Queen - 7

 

I was glad she showed this new side of her but couldn’t she have done it on a less challenging song? It was much better than I expected though, far from a trainwreck.

 

 

Olivia Soli - I Surrender by Celine Dion - 7

 

She did good enough I guess but I’m getting bored of these dated performances from her that aren’t even good enough to justify doing such big songs.

 

Marybeth Byrd - People Pleaser by Herself - 7.5

 

I enjoyed this actually. One of the most emotionally connected performances tonight. The vocal inconsistencies didn’t really bother me much.

 

Michael Williams - Lose You To Love Me by Selena Gomez - 7.75

 

His tone sounded very pretty here. Surprised how much I liked it. I wouldn’t even be mad if he got voted through for this.

 

Paige Anne - Say Something by A Great Big World - 4.5

 

Uhhhh was that Sing-Off performance just a fluke because she was bad last week and even worse now. This sounded very unpleasant to me.

 

Nutsa - Unbreak My Heart by Toni Braxton - 6

 

She doesn’t deserve the hate she gets on other platforms but I’ll never understand the love she gets here on IDF either.

 

Tyson Venegas - 180 by Himself - 7

 

Solid performance and solid song too even if the lyrics sounded like they were written by a fifteen year old. I think he has an outside shot of getting voted in honestly.

 

Megan Danielle - Holy Water by We The Kingdom - 8

 

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully get into her tone but I thought she did great here. I didn’t think she could reach that high honestly. This should get her through to the next round.

 

Colin Stough - Pretty Heart by Parker McCollum - 4

 

Even that giant kid Brayden Lape from the last season of The Voice did better on this song, and that’s saying something. This was embarassing and he should be sent straight home along with  Paige and Mariah.

 

Wé Ani - Skyfall by Adele - 9

 

OKAY I see. As QueenCami pointed out she did hit some bum notes on both ‘tall’ in the first chorus but the rest of this was impeccable. The low range was stunning, the sustained note at the climax was great and the ending head voice was damn gorgeous. Well done Wé!
