Cait was my favorite of the episode, but Rachel & Gina are close behind.

 

I give the episode a B+ because there were plenty of fresher song choices to go around, even if sometimes the execution left a bit to be desired.

I would say JB was on the level of Mariah, Rachel and Gina imo.

 

But he sang an iconic song that has been covered phenomenally by at least 3 different contestants (James, Madi, Addison) and his version is clearly not on that level, even if it was solid.

 

The other 2 guys struggled with vocal issues throughout their performance.

I really liked JB. Ray was great even if he had some issues. As someone who liked some of Kason’s off-show material, I don’t think he deserved a chair.

Tbh, I actually liked JB more on second listen. I'd say Ray and Kason were the clear worst from a technical standpoint. I actually liked most of Ray's performance, but the end... well, you'll see lol

 

That being said I clearly have an indie girl bias so my ratings are skewed that way. I think Rachel attempted more vocally so I still put her above JB's level, but I can see why @Hsamid says that it's the same level as Mariah and Gina.

Because really, I went from "worse than Ray Uriel" to "pretty good, but not as good as Rachel" to one of my highest ratings on the other thread 

 

He is most definitely not topping Madi's version imo (or Addison's either, fwiw). But he still gave a very good version of that song.

Yeah, definitely take everything you hear from livestreams with a sack of salt. The audio there is shot. Watching the episodes on a good TV is a much more pleasant experience.

 

I prefer JB to Madi and Addison, but not James. It's pretty close between the guys though.

JB was closer in quality to Mariah and Kylee for me. Ray and Kason were both meh

JB was really good if you ask me. Big song and lots of great versions on the show, and he managed to make himself be seen amongst them. 

 

I liked Kason better than most here but his good rasp and song choice carried him, otherwise the vocal wasnt anything especial. 

 

Ray was rough IMO.

Not perfect in execution but wow what a rich tone. He sang that song very earnestly and sometimes that’s really all you need. I don’t mind others covering it better in the past. He brought his own flavor to it.
