Crisis Posted April 27, 2023 Share Posted April 27, 2023 Of the three, I thought Medusa was the best, so there were no issues with her advancing to the quarterfinals. It didn't hurt she picked the best song despite it being Shawn Mendes. Then again, I always thought Mercy was better sung by anyone other than Shawn Mendes. As for the others, it was hilarious how the panel got neither of the eliminated right (although frankly neither did I ). I never would've guessed Lou Diamond Phillips for Mantis nor Keenan Allen for Gargoyle. Speaking of Gargoyle, Robin was close with his guess. He was in the right neighborhood but visited the wrong house. The quarterfinals is shaping up to be a good one. Mantis was fun but I felt he was kind of out of his league amongst the other two acts that got saved. I still disagree with that save despite Robin's connection to Mantis' song choices but I get it. I would have never guessed it was Lou Diamond Phillips. Though I don't really know who he is sooo yeah. It was hilarious seeing all of the judges seeing his reveal. Gargoyle was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed him tonight. I moreso enjoyed his "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" performance which was a lot of fun. He tried his best on "Centuries" but that was an odd song choice for him. Again, I never would have guessed Keenan Allen for him. But I love seeing athletes on this show showing off a new talent we wouldn't expect from them! He did really well. I wish we could have gotten some more performances from him but sadly this format didn't allow for that. I'm glad Medusa won the night overall. I thought she slayed it on both "Mercy" and "Centuries." That long note she sang on the latter performance was just INSANE.
