  1. 1. Which teen pop winner do you prefer?

I heard some of Brynn's stuff from after the show, some pretty good pop songs even if they're not exactly my thing. She also had good pre-taped performances (esp. her battle and KO). But yeah, her run on the show was... not it.

Carter's pre-taped were better than lives too, I wasn't crazy about Hero and The Climb, but they were better than Brynn's worst performances, and Rainbow Connection was my favorite performance from either of them.

This comment is hilarious but which one are you referring too?

Carter.

I actually prefer Brynn's tone and pretaped rounds,  but her live performances were not it.

So . . . again, both?

haha yeah both were good vocalists. i just tended to think that carter sounded karaoke. Brynn felt like she had more character to her voice, which is why I prefer her (and find her less karaoke).

I dont even know what people mean when they label singers as "karaoke"

Is it that he has a fairly common tone that's not unique?

Anyways, I do agree Brynn has more depth to her voice. But her live performances got far messier than Carters ever got imo.

idk what it is. i guess i just find his tone uninteresting lol so maybe i'm misnaming it as being karaoke.

anyway i dont recall thinking any of her first three performances were that bad and those are the ones people typically call pitchy so im still on her side i think. i do def have to relisten to them to be sure though.

Can anyone explain what is meant by "Karoake Singer?"

I've heard this a lot of times, but I don't know what it means.

Thanks in advance.

To me, a karaoke singer is someone who doesn’t put their spin on the songs they cover, just sings all of them as is as if they were just doing karaoke.

Not sure what it means to everybody else

"Karaoke singer": Basically someone who imitates other singers and doesn't put a lot of their own flavor in their singing.

a karaoke singer is someone who sings other peoples songs as covers, typically in a more amateur / less professional setting.

so on the voice, it may mean that the singer doesn’t have much character to their voice (texture, tone), but they can hit the notes in a crowd-pleasing way, as would be expected from a good karaoke singer.

the implication may be that a good karaoke singer can impress friends but may not find a successful career in singing original music (though not sure everyone truly means this, i didn’t when i was referring to carter).
