Okay, final thoughts.

THANK YOU CONTESTANTS! THIS WAS THE DOPAMINE I NEEDED!!!

Parijita Bastola (A-) — I thought this was a really nice performance overall! Some of the high notes didn’t sound quite right to me but there were many great parts. I really liked one of the runs she did in the middle in particular, and the beginning was great!

Rowan Grace (C-) — I don’t know if it was an intentional effect but the performance had a lot of parts where the vocal felt kind of shaky; to me it sounded like perhaps she was a bit nervous (totally understandable!). Some of the high notes also sounded a bit off to me. A lot of this is understandable since I suspect that this song is quite difficult to sing.

Kim Cruse (A) — She is SO good. From one of the first notes, I was so impressed with her vocal choices. I am mildly frustrated about the song choice because I think it’s going to limit her vote potential for this week but there’s no denying that this was a strong showing.

Brayden Lape (B-) — The performance was technically sound. There’s something about his voice that makes his singing sound almost “lazy” to me for lack of a better word. It’s kind of like he very mildly slurs his words together (I wanna say someone described it like that earlier). Nonetheless, it’s good that he took on a song that fit his range and that he could perform without vocal issues.

Justin Aaron (A+) — Absolute perfection! He would be a deserving winner of Season 22.

Bryce Leatherwood (B+) — Honestly, a really nice performance! I think this was a good song choice for him in terms of vocal range. I enjoy the lower parts of his voice more than the higher parts of his voice, so most of this performance was very pleasant. However, there was one part near the end where he went for something that didn’t work out as smoothly as the rest of his performance. Overall, a solid showing.

Morgan Myles (A+) — Oh my god?!?! Morgan put on a SHOW! The vocals were stellar, but what really made this stand out to me was her stage presence. She’s such a natural up there. Morgan would also absolutely be a deserving winner of Season 22.

Kique (A-) — His vocals are insane; I love his range and runs. The only thing that brought this performance down for me was that the rasp in his beltier parts didn’t appeal to me.

bodie (A) — Another extremely strong showing! bodie really impressed me with his vocals here, and I appreciated that he held back on the runs for at least one full part of the ballad-section. I can’t say I loved the rapping a ton, but I won’t dock points for it because it showed versatility and was impressive. There was one tiny part that sounded slightly off but otherwise this was pretty much perfect. This definitely felt like a moment for bodie.

Omar Jose Cardona (A-) — Omar’s voice is so impressive! I really love this song, so I am happy that Omar sang it; I felt like it didn’t have the impact I was hoping for (my suspicion is that it didn’t hit as hard as Rose’s performance did for me), but his vocals were undeniable at their best. I also really loved most of his softer parts, so I wish we heard more of that.

Predicted Bottom 3: Rowan, Kique, Brayden

Ideal Bottom 3: Rowan, Brayden, Bryce

Sums up my thoughts as well, even though my grading is timately different. Glad I wasn't the only one who catched that one "off" moment in Bodie's performance. But it's whatever in the grand scheme of things.

I heard it too. He lost control in the middle of the second rap verse. But he quickly corrected himself and it was seamless.

Yeah I noticed it but he just brushed it off and continued killing it after. Very professional.
