Amy was my petty cut last time, I don’t dislike her :haha: I’m interested in seeing if she pulls it off bc she was most likely winning the first rankdown if I didn’t cut her

I figured she was. :giggle: I think it’s between her and Viola honestly

I’ve been a fan of Oscar’s since his criminally underrated performance in Inside Llewyn Davis, and it’s been so much fun watching his career take off since then. He’s been in so many movies I’ve enjoyed or loved and that can’t just be a coincidence. I couldn’t even tell you my favorite performance of his because there are so many. Besides Llewyn, I can’t forget his performance in Scenes from a Marriage opposite Jessica Chastain. Their crumbling marriage is so fascinating to watch and his performance is seared in my memory. Besides that, he’s great in both Dune and Star Wars (though the Star Wars movies suck so we can forget he’s in those) for box office smash representation. I always think of him in Ex Machina, he’s high key trade there and his performance is really fun. I also really enjoyed him in Annihilation and A Most Violent Year. He won a GG for his performance in a 2015 miniseries that I have yet to watch. So I’d say Scenes From a Marriage is a great place to start to really see Oscar’s talent as an actor. I can see him going on to have a huge acclaimed career as the years go on and I am certainly a huge fan.

Oscar Isaac has to be one of the most loved actor in the business - I truly have never heard of anyone who dislike him.  He has appeared in a lot of minor movies in the past, but the public took notice of him following his appearance in A Most Violent Year and Ex Machina, which was my first introduction to him. He also appeared in other movies such as Annihilation and Dune, and even in the Star Wars world & Marvel world which I certainly won't watch him for.  I wouldn't call myself a super fan but he's certainly someone that I like and I am intrigued how well he'll do in this rankdown.

And here is our only man of color. I feel like this guy is the busiest man in hollywood lol. He's in EVERYTHING. 2 a year, 3 a year, 4, one time even 5 movies in one year. Llewyn Davis, Ex Machina, X-Men, Star Wars, Annihilation, Spider-Man, Addams Family, Dune, and he joined MCU and the TV world with Moon Knight. He's definitely booked and blessed but I haven't seen Moon Knight and a lot of the roles I've seen him in are kind of... supporting characters played competently but not necessarily the stand-outs of each project? So he gets placed a little lower but I still like him.

Oscar Isaac broke through in a major way in 2013 for me when he starred in Inside Llewyn Davis as the titular Llewyn Davis. Such an underrated performance and movie! It's been ten years since then and Isaac has showed no signs of slowing down. It's been great project after great project. Yes he did get trapped in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but Poe Dameron was easily the best character of them. Similar to McGregor and Portman, if you can shine in a weak Star Wars movie you've got a great career ahead of you!

While Isaac had his breakout in 2013, it was 2015 that really made me a fan. He starred in Ex Machina, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Show Me a Hero. Just a trio of completely different genres and projects, all of which he was arguably the star of. Okay, Vikander was obviously the star of Ex Machina but second place ain't bad!

I feel like Oscar Isaac could be a generic movie star, but instead he works with directors like Julian Schnabel, Alex Garland, and Paul Schrader. Now personally I'm not a fan of all these directors or their movies, but it's the risk that I appreciate! And despite how I may feel about any of these directors or movies, there's no denying how strong Isaac's acting is.

He's also been doing a decent amount of tv which makes me happy. I already highlighted the criminally underseen Show Me a Hero from David Simon which I love. He also gave us Moon Knight, which wasn't that great, but was definitely one of his most difficult roles and episode five absolutely made the show worth it. He also earned an Emmy nomination for his performance in Scenes from a Marriage. The show was boring, but the acting was topnotch (especially on the press tour with Jessica 👀). Isaac's got a great career ahead of him which I look forward to continue following.

Most of the male actors we let in the finals are hotties, which makes sense since all of us rankers are queer males :haha:

But Oscar Isaac is not only hot but extremely talented. He still seems to be sort of a newcomer on the Hollywood scene but he has been active for the past 25 years. Drive, Inside Llewyn Davis, Ex Machina, The Force Awakens, Apocalypse, The Last Jedi, Annihilation, The Rise of Skywalker and Dune are probably his most famous movies. I particularly love love love what he did on Ex Machina and Annihilation and I hope someday I can finally watch Inside Llewyn Davis which seems to be his strongest role. He recently entered the MCU as the lead on the Moon Knight tv series which was kinda fun but nothing groundbreaking. I think he will definitely win an Oscar sometimes soon.

Know him for Ex Machina, The Star Wars sequels and Annihilation but not a whole lot else so here he lands.

Oscar Isaac has proven to be a very talented and versatile actor, so I think his spot in the Top 20 is deserved. He has played a wide variety of characters throughout the years, proving he has great range as an actor. Oscar Isaac's big breakthrough was with Inside Llewyn Davis. I have yet to watch that film, but I've only heard good things about his performance as the titular character. Films I've seen Oscar Isaac in include Drive, The Bourne Legacy, Ex Machina, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Annihilation. Ex Machina is the performance that stands out to me the most from what I've seen. I also think Poe Dameron was one of the better characters of the new Star Wars films too. Oscar Isaac also won a Golden Globe for Show Me A Hero, and he received an Emmy nomination for Scenes from a Marriage. Oscar Isaac's career shows no signs of slowing down, and kudos to him for being the last man standing in this rankdown.

Well done to Oscar coming in 6th and being the highest ranked male here. I am not surprised that the Top 5 are all actresses. :giggle:

Rooting most for Charlize & Viola.
