Alex95
Hugh Laurie Hugh Laurie is a well known British comedian and actor. However, he is most known for being an American drama show called House. It's not a show I've ever gone out of my way to watch. Sometimes I've been in the same room it's on, whether I was hanging out with a friend who was watching it or something. But I don't have time for medical dramas really, except This Is Going To Hurt. Shoutout to Scrubs though, we love a medical comedy here! Hugh Laurie had a very close working relationship with Stephen Fry and they did a bunch of comedy stuff together in Britain. After House, he really began to have his American breakthrough, appearing in shows such as Veep, Catch-22, and Avenue 5. Laurie is absolutely brilliant in Veep and I wish we got more episodes with him. The only British show I've seen him in is The Night Manager but honestly I watched it like a million years ago and barely remember him. His film work is also a bit lacking. I've seen him in Sense and Sensibility, 101 Dalmatians, Stuart Little, and The Personal History of David Copperfield, but I can't say he really stands out at all in these films. Veep is pretty much the big thing I've seen him in where I love him. Otherwise, he was by far the easiest cut for me at this point in the game when it comes to knowing his work. Alex95
Florence Pugh To be honest I was kind of surprised to see Pugh leave here. She was kind of a last second nomination for me because I kept feeling bad about making the noms too stacked on people's faves and Pugh is still a bit of a relative newcomer. I thought she would be saved, but obviously I nominated her willing to sacrifice her. Based on her acting ability she's certainly a deserving member of the top 50, but based on her limited filmography she's also a fair cut. Florence Pugh is probably best known for her Oscar nominated performance as Amy March in Little Women. I think she gave my favorite performance in the movie and was totally deserving of her nomination. In fact, I think she should have won over her fellow nominees that year, though there were more deserving supporting performances that were not nominated. She's also well known for being part of the Marvel universe, having played Yelena in Black Widow and Hawkeye, once again being the highlight of both projects. Pugh's filmography may be limited, but she certainly makes the most of every performance she's been in. Lady Macbeth, Outlaw King, Fighting with My Family, Midsommar, The Wonder, King Lear, The Little Drummer Girl. These are all very acclaimed projects of performances from Pugh. She's really been working in this industry less than ten years and already has more acclaimed performances than people who have been working for decades. She's also got Oppenheimer and Dune: Part Two coming up so there's really no signs of her stopping anytime soon. Her personal life can be a bit messy with all the Don't Worry Darling drama and the relationship with Zach Braff but that makes her more fun. I love mess! Anyways, Pugh has an amazing career ahead of her and I look forward to continuing to follow it.
