What a rollercoaster is Julia Garner’s life.. one day she wins a Golden Globe and the next one she is being cut from this game

Both events definitely impacted her equally. :haha:

Speaking of Julia, I’m so glad I dragged her into the top 100. Her performance in Ozark slayed me

Christopher Plummer

Christopher Plummer Oscars GIF by The Academy Awards

Christopher was already an accomplished theater/broadway actor before appearing in the iconic Sound of Music alongside Julie Andrews in 1965 as Captain Von Trapp. Over his decades-long career, he has collected almost every type of nomination and award you can think of. He has his Triple Crown of acting (the only Canadian to do so) and has also been nominated for a Grammy, so he just missed getting that EGOT. He finally started getting the Academy's attention in 2010, and got his Oscar later in 2012 for Beginners. The Tonys already knew what was up and nominated him back in 1959, and he later won in 1974 and 1997. Fun fact, he has a Tony for Best Actor in a Play as well as Best Actor in a Musical, which is no small feat. He got his first Emmy in 1997 for some TV movie I've never heard of, and snagged another in 1994 for a voice-over performance. He died in 2021 at age 91 after living a long, amazing life. His daughter, Amanda, is still in the business so his legacy continues.

It's time for a challenge. Here's how it will work.

There will be two groups of three. You will be competing against your group members, meaning there will be one winner from each group.

The groups are Best Actor and Best Actress. You will sign up for the group you want to compete in at a first come, first serve basis.

Your goal is to select the best acting performance clip. You will select a clip from YouTube highlighting a film or TV performance you think will be voted as the best. You must select a clip of a scene. No compilation videos highlighting the entire film or show.

The group members of the opposite group will privately vote which performance they believe is the best. The public is allowed to vote too. Public votes are worth one point. Rankers' votes are worth two points. There is no ranking. Just vote for your favorite clip.

The prize for winning will be the right to nominate.

There will only be two nominators the next cycle.

Here's an example of how this challenge will play out. Let's pretend the three chosen for Best Actor are Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, and Ryan Gosling. A video clip will be linked below the images.

Leonardo DiCaprio – The Wolf of Wall Street

Tom Hanks – Forrest Gump

Ryan Gosling – Blue Valentine

The remaining rankers and the public will then send me their vote for their favorite performance.

Please send me your vote in an existing PM thread, even if it's for another game here.

Please remain anonymous of your chosen clip. Let's play fair. Don't ask other rankers or the public to vote for you to win.

Send me your video clip after the six rankers determine which group they'll compete in.

If you have any questions then let me know.

Good luck!

Anthony Hopkins – The Father

Heath Ledger – The Dark Knight

Nick Offerman – Parks and Recreation

Toni Collette – Hereditary

Viola Davis – Fences

Natalie Portman – Black Swan

Rankers and the public can now send me their votes. Keep your video submissions and votes a secret.

Rankers vote for your opposite group; the public can vote for both groups.

Please send your votes in an existing PM thread, even if it's for another game.

Rankers' votes are worth 2 points. Public votes are worth 1 point.

The winner of each group will be the only rankers to nominate in the upcoming cycle.

Voting will be open for 48 hours.

Please send your votes ASAP.

Congrats to Andy and Tom! They will be the two nominators for the upcoming cycle.

It's a standard nomination format. They each will nominate ten actors/actresses and the other five rankers will save and cut at a first come, first serve basis.

If Andy and Tom can come to an agreement on the nomination order, then no randomizer is necessary. But if both want to nominate second, then I'll use the randomizer.

Andy and Tom, please let me know if you can come to an agreement on the nomination order or not.

Remember my generosity of waiting 23 hours to make my pick when you nominate 😭

I’m planning on offering everyone who asks a look at my noms and then letting them remove two names anyways. :P
