Top Country Singer Rankdown

Recommended Posts

So as I was following Alex's Dancing with the Stars rankdown I really enjoyed the new format that he came up with. So I decided to incorporate that format into my next rankdown. I was always planning on doing a rankdown for country singers and when this format came up I was like that's perfect for this idea so here we go! This is likely to get really cutthroat but we are all adults so let's try behave like it. :dead:

Rules:

We will be seperating the groups into male / female groups because one group is vastly preffered to the other so it only makes it fair. You can only cut 1 artist every 24 hours and for your cut to count you have to include who you are cutting, a picture of the artist you are cutting, a video of one of there songs, and you have to leave some comments about the artist. You don't have to write 100 words about the artist but you will need to write more than just the word "meh" so do put some effort into the comments please.  You will be cutting people until only 1 person remains and that person will be crowned the winner.

 Who Can Join

Anyone that is currently participating in the Country music song rankdown is eligible to participate in this. So that includes myself, Wallace, Tom, Chris, Diana, Akshar, Steven, Gigi. If you are not currently participating and you would like to join this then you can ask me to join and I may allow it. If I know you are only interested in trolling or causing drama then I won't allow you to make any cuts but if I know that isn't the case then I will allow it.

Women List:

List of 180 women that we will be deciding from!

Gabby Barrett

What do you get when you combine the words Gabby and Barrett? Garbage! Of all the excellent country females that have been on Idol, the fact that she's had even one minor hit and others like Skylar, Kree, Janelle, etc. haven't is mind-boggling. I guess it's her connections to the Duggars that helped. Her setlist on the finale night of Idol was tragic, her put-on twang annoys me to no end every time I hear it. and she recently performed at the AMAs and she ruined all the covers she sang. She will never be up to par with greats like Faith Hill, or even Voice country singers like Danielle/Cassadee. She absolutely deserves to be the first cut from this.

RaeLynn

I don't think it's much of a secret that I don't care for Raelynn. I remember watching her on the Voice and I tried to like her but her voice is just incredibly weak. I thought maybe it would improve but it never did really. You combine that with her being a QaNon girl and she makes for an easy early cut!

If in 2022, we are writing and proud of pro life songs than maybe we should not be surprised we are going to cut as one of the first on here. Woodward's lyrics say, "she could have chosen one quick fix, to get her out of one big mess ... but she chose me."  what the actual f is that. This woman is trash and it is a easy cut to make. She also threw a fit when Trump lost the 2020 election so she is just a peach isn't she? Gabby is a good choice for our first cut but Raelyn is close second.

Kristy Lee Cook

Okay let us try this again as Raelynn got dragged twice. Is this the most deserving cut? Idk but we all have people we don't like and I have never liked Kristy Lee Cook. I feel like people expected her to be bigger than she ended up being but after a few songs she really disappeared and I was glad for that. I hope no one steals this cut lol.

Who is Laura Bell Bundy ? That's the question that many of you will have, and I assume it will be the case for a lot of the artists in this game especially some of the legends so I recommend that you check out their work or read more about them prior to making a cut.  Now back onto Laura Bell Bundy, a singer that I am very familiar with due to her work on Broadway ; She originated the role of Amber in Hairspray, Elle in Legally Blonde, and was a standby to Kristin Chenoweth's Glinda in Wicked.  After few years on Broadway, Laura Bell Bundy decided to try a go at country music where she signed with Mercury Nashville for her first mainstream album, "Achin' and Shakin'". And if you haven't heard of Laura Bell Bundy until now, it's simply due to her short-lived country music career and the singles not having an impact on radio despite her record company really trying to make her the next female blonde country singer. Honestly, Laura Bell Bundy is a great singer and almost too great for the sound and direction that was assigned to her by her label. Honestly, just take a listen of her debut single, "Giddy On Up", and you will understand why her career was shortlived :

If you want the real Laura Bell Bundy experience, I recommend checking out her most recent album, "Women of Tomorrow", which fits her style and her voice way more than country music.

Oooh lol this game is really happening. Guess I'm not too surprised with the first set of cuts that happened here, lol.

Lol I remember Laura Bell Bundy. :haha:  I liked "Giddy On Up" and found it to be cute. :giggle: I think I first heard of her with that song and then some years later going into Broadway stuff. So I had no idea if she was a country singer going into Broadway or vice versa.
