Some of the ideas are different, which I like.

Since my goal isn't necessarily to rank these, but rather to come up with a winner, I think I will make it fast and loose.

 

Each round will go as follows: 

1. When the round begins, the first ranker to post will nominate half of remaining items to eliminate. If the number is odd, round down.

2. The next ranker to post will second the nominations of half of those nominated by the first. If the number is odd, round down.

3. Rinse and repeat as long as the number of items posted > 16

4. If items < 16, this is considered the final list, and all rankers will send in PMs, giving to each item a score between -10 and +10. No two items may have the same score.

Rankers have 24 hours to send their PMs to be considered for the vote. This may be extended if participation levels are low.

 

For example, in Round 1, we start with 50 items. 

 

Ranker A nominates 25 items for elimination:

A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Y,Z

 

Ranker B seconds 12 items:

A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L

 

Rankers C, D, E, and F send in their PMs

 

Ranker C sends:

A: -2

B: +10

C; +9

D; -3

E: 0

F: +1

G: -10

H: -9

I: -1

J: +4

K: +8

L: +7

 

Note that no two are the same number.

 

After 24 hours, all votes will be tallied, and the bottom half will be eliminated (rounding down if an odd number).

 

The next round will then be announced. See Step 1.
