Mohammad Posted July 11, 2022 Share Posted July 11, 2022 I feel like lakelin being a little too raw is what makes her stand out and intriguing because with the right guidance by Camila , we would see a great growth arc similar to Rachel mac and Hailey Mia . She has a lot of potential and her voice has innocence ,sass, and a bit of maturity plus she can do ballads and uptempo , i hope she makes it far. If she delivers I genuinely believe she would make the finale . She has way more performing experience and polish than I would have guessed, until I looked into it. Any perceived “rawness” is probably just due to her young age, which we all know is not a disqualifying characteristic on the show. Honestly, I think she’s good enough to win. Whether she does, or even makes the finale, will depend on a lot of variables (coach preference, song choices, competition, etc). I do understand your larger point. Yeah she has experience on stage that rawness is as you said firm her age but even her voice it has that young raw innocence (if that makes) sense, that is why I said she is specials because she has sass , rawness , and a little bit of maturity like when she sang a piece of my heart by Janis Joplin , it sounded slightly mature IMO. Yeah, I’d say she has more live performing experience than some of the older contestants that people are hyping up in the main thread. 🫢 Most people on here just associate young with raw, which I guess is fair because it tends to be the case. Yeah, but that much rasp (the Seger song) might not be the best for her vocal health on the show! After that song, she said she was about to lose her voice, and sang “How Great Thou Art.” It was still pitch perfect, and she hit all of the notes, but her voice was shot. Not sure whether it was from singing the raspy song, or just the effects of singing for nearly an hour. Honestly…How Great Thou Art might be a good one for the show!
