Quick thoughts on the battles: not as brilliant as the past two seasons, I felt like a lot of the battles were lopsided and favored one artist over another. The only battle result I disagreed with was Ane Fin over Eline Roa, I thought the former's tone was rather unpleasant and the latter was a 4 chair turn in the blinds that delivered on her battle. I have no issues with the steals, they were all deserved IMO, especially glad that Tine and Dennis were stolen.

Top 5 battles:

Strong battle, Ulrikke gets to show a little more texture in her voice while Dennis gets to show more dynamics. Stealworthy for sure.

 

4.

Interesting choice for a Broadway-style duet, both singers were terrific, although I do think Stian was held back by the song. Tine definitely deserved the steal.

 

3.

An example of a pretty lopsided battle, it was André who carried this duet from the jump. He sounds GORGEOUS in this and he got to show some nice dynamics in this duet.

Øyvind's tone I-  

Appreciated the song choice and the nice contrast between the artists' voices. Marianne should have been stolen IMO.

I think André is fast becoming my favorite artist this season. His tone is captivating. Love the cool song choice and the interplay between these two singers.

The last seasons I watched, I always got disappointd with the results. This season I was impressed, cause in the battles I agreed with almost every decision. Now I feel like I'm back to The Voice Norge, mainly with Matoma's choices. I just can't believe this decisions

Quick thoughts:

- Tine totally deserved that win over Emilie, but I wish Emelie was stolen. WHY DID THEY SCRAP STEALS IN THE KOs???

 

- Dennis is the only losing artist in this group who I think legitimately should have won over his opponent. Tragic.

- Don't know how to feel about Mathilde being able to compete in the KO remotely.... I just feel like the KO was played in a completely uneven field.

 

- Jørgen is obviously the poised frontrunner this season..... but I still think the three other indie male singers who have yet to sing will give him a run for his money. I want the season finale to be composed of the two Andrés and Øyvind along with Jørgen. 

- Terrible song choices this round in general. Where's the Voice Norge modern songbook that I love?

Thoughts on the last two KOs.....

- OOOOOOF at André N.'s elimination..... he and Dennis really got robbed, plain and simple. Both of them were leagues ahead of their opponents in artistry and presence.

 

- I think TPTB wants Sebastian to be Yosef's frontrunner, so they made him eliminate some of his stronger people, namely Emelie and André. That's reality TV for ya, I guess.

 

- Chris Lund is clearly a great singer and his last two rounds have been really good.... but there's just something about his tone that is not resonating for me. It feels very.... unnatural, I guess? I do think he won that KO fair and square, but I loved André A.'s tone better and wished he didn't pick that Chaka song.

 

- all these girls are just blending right into each other for me.... the only ones I like are Tine and Alessandra. Mathilde is not my cup of tea but at least she stands out from all the pop girls.

 

- Super glad André H., Øyvind and Stian moved on in KO's episode 2, but other than that the KOs have not been good to my team.... T____T

 

- the Playoffs are gonna be BRUTAL for Team Ina..... no matter what, I'm gonna lose at least one of my faves from there. My other faves are scattered in the other teams, so I'm less worried about them.

First of all I was so happy with battle results, not a single elimination that I was sad about. All steals were well deserved.

Now, here comes the knockout!!

What the hell was happened? My favorites who I thought were confirmed to be a part of live shows were eliminated.

Team Yosef: Ugh!!! This was most shocking for me. All four that I previously thought were won their knockouts, would ultimately eliminated.

Team Matoma: same as team Yosef, only Ane Marit survived.

Team Espen and Team Ina: I still have my favorites on their teams and I'm hoping for the best.

 

Erlend, Goda, Andre A, Andre N, Emilie, Ane, Maria, Connie, Emma and Tara N. You all were amazing. Thanks for great music.

Opinions:

I think I only disagreed with Sebastian winning over Tine, I thought his rendition of that Etta James song was messy and all over the place, and Tine gave a beautiful, if basic and understated, performance. I really feel like they're pushing Sebastian as a frontrunner with the treatment they've been giving him.

 

I'm happy that Øyvind and André made it, but I have to say that their song choices were a bit sleepy and not really in the spirit of the Live Shows. Their tones carried their performances and made them more substantial than they had any right to be. I'm sure people will cry that Ulrikke and Alessandra got robbed, but they did themselves no favors with their song choices either.

Ok, here are my opinions, i haven't commented on the season before because it has been kind of hard to keep up with every single performance of every single contestant ( @thevoiceisthetop and @Teraginn make it easier, tho, so thanks guys ). But now that we are already on live shows, it's gonna be easier, considering that at this time i think i'm well familiarized with the contestants left.

 

Team Matoma  

Ok, i personally think Ane Marit should have took this one. She actually showcased her voice and range better, while Kirsti focused on the performance and as a result, her vocals suffered from it. People probably voted her because of her performing abilities, but the show is called "The Voice", and based on the performances tonight i think Ane Marit should have easily won the PV

 

Team Ina 

Ok, i love André's tone, it's enjoyable and very easy to the ears, and he manages to connect with the songs he sings very easily. With that said, he could have had a better song choice, but i do think he deserved his win this time. Ulrikke has a lovely tone and i liked the artistry she showed on this song, but this was just not her time. She has potential to be a star in the future, tho. 

 

Team Yosef 

Uff, and i thought American Idol had some trashy results, but this one takes the prize. Tine was robbed, no question. Her performance was beautiful and she showcased her excellent vocals pretty well, she also didn't oversing and connected very well with the song, in my opinion. It makes me angry because it's obvious that people are still pissed that she beat Emily, which is stupid considering that she won that Knockout fair and square. But oh well, she was hands down robbed. I don't see nothing special about Sebastián, people again decided to focus on the performance instead of the vocals. Sebastián has a great and funny personality but i find his tone very grating to my ears and i don't think he did that song justice, it was just a  messy rendition overall, but  the brillant public from Norway has talked, so... 

 

Team Espen 

I'm conflicted about this one. I have enjoyed both Øyvind and Alessandra in the past, but i was not particulary impressed by either performance. I appreciate that Alessandra took a risk with a very challenging song but it was definitely not her best. I still enjoyed it, tho, and she had some great moments. And with Øyvind, i had a hard time trying to connect with this one, it's obvious that a lot of people connected with him on an emotional level, but i just couldn't for some reason, i found the performance very monotone and it didn't really go anywhere. I'm aware this is an unpopular opinion (obviously, based on the voting lol), but i'd go with Alessandra on this one. I understand why the public for picking Øyvind, tho. He is really talented and i can't say that he didn't deserve to advance, but losing both Tine and Alessandra in one night was really heartbreaking.

My predictions for next week: 

 

Madeleine, Chris, Jørgen (duh) and Mathilde will advance to the semifinals. 

 

If my predictions end up being right (i hope so):

 

- I really hope that Madeleine can beat Sebastian for the place in the finale. I was not happy when she beat André N, but after rewatching her performances a few times, she has really grown on me. 

 

- Chris is gonna be a finalist easily due to lack of competition on Team Matoma. 

 

- Jørgen will advance with zero problem. At this point, he can just stand there and he will get the PV anyway (not that i'm complaining,tho) 

 

- Mathilde vs Øyvind is gonna be brutal, but it looks like Mathilde is more popular at the moment. Let's see if she can keep the moment she has built so far with her performance next week.

I don't know if they'll do the coach quota thing in their finale, I think they've done finales with the actual top 4 votegetters in the past. I hope they've done away with it, just so I can have both Jørgen and André as possibilities there.

 

If Øyvind wants a chance at the finale, he's gonna have to choose more accessible songs, his song choices have been way too obscure.

 

I think Matoma has no shot at the finale if it's a PV vote, but I could be wrong.
