I mean, last year Cam and GNT won and they were both IDF's snowflakes.

This year so far though, with Noah winning American Idol and now Lachie with TV AUS, IDF in general isn't having any fun lol. We will see with TV USA come fall season.

1. Faith & Jess: (A-) This performance wasn’t 100% perfect technically, but it was super impressive and very fun!

2. Faith: (A-) This performance was great, technically, but the focus felt more like hitting impressive notes than getting at the meaning of the song?

3. Thando: (A-) This performance was also technically impressive, but for some reason I don’t feel like rewatching it that much. Perhaps it’s the after-effects of looping Kelsea Johnson’s knockout too many times a while ago LOL.

4. Jordan & Guy: (B+) Guy’s voice is very impressive, and although Jordan’s voice didn’t sound as versatile as Guy’s, I think the appeal of Jordan’s voice for me is his tone. That being said, I thought that the contrast between their two voices distracted from the performance a little bit.

5. Jordan: (B+) I really enjoy Jordan’s tone, but the song didn’t go much of anywhere, so I didn’t think I could grade it in the A-/A/A+ range. However, I think I would be more interested in re-listening to this performance than Thando’s solo performance.

6. Thando & Keith: (B) Thando sounded great and the choruses were nice, but I felt that Keith’s solo parts weren’t as strong as the rest. This reminds me, though, I have to listen to the full 30 album soon!

7. Lachie: (B) I thought this performance was pretty enjoyable, except for one part where he went for a higher note I think? If not for that, this performance probably would’ve ranked above Thando & Keith’s duet for me.

8. Lachie & Rita: (B-) I didn’t like this performance as much as the others because it sounded like Lachie was straining. Rita sounded good though, and I was impressed with her singing here!

Also, @erik g (or anyone else), do you have any performances from before the semi-finals that you’d recommend? I listened to some of the performances but haven’t gotten to all of them, and I figured you’d be a good person to ask since I think we usually like similar singers.

Here's some i find myself rewatching:

Auditions: Faith Sosene (Because You Loved Me), Thando Sikwila (I'm Every Woman) Asha Newman (RIP), Chriddy Black (Stay), Jordan Tavita (Man in the Mirror), Celestial Utai (Deja Vu), Jay Sierra (God is A Woman), Nicolia de Sensi (when the partys over), Lachie Gill (if the world was ending), Zoe Koul (Hold), Xanthe Campbell (Happier Than Ever), Bri Dodd (Fallin'), and maybe Connor Wink (Believe)

Callbacks: Kaylee Bell (Lucky), Liam Conroy (Someone Like You), Jordan Tavita (All I Ask)

Battles: Faith Sosene vs. Emily-Jane Conidi (I'm Your Baby Tonight)

Battles Singoffs: Thando Sikwila (Chandelier), Faith Sosene (Ain't No Way)

Lachie had some nice moments this season but I do wish Thando won

Out of the finalists he is a bit more limited vocally

I do actually think he could be marketable with the right support so that’s something at least

I’m not sure how involved Rita’s going to be given her track record on The X Factor and TVUK. She also quite literally said

“I cannot wait to see where your career goes, you’ve forever got a fan in me”

Basically meaning-I think you’re great, good luck out there lol

Above everything, I wish they would do a live finale. If they have to cut the season back and rapidly cut artists fine I guess. But the final feels so anticlimactic, especially since the winner announcement isn’t even live

It shouldn’t be too much to ask to have 1 episode live

Since Rita doesn’t live in AU, idk how much she’d be able to help Lachie exactly. Sort of like how Kelly Rowland was with Sam Perry or Chris Sebastian.

These are all very good choices. I'm gonna add some more that I liked

Auditions: Ethan Conway (Exile), Emily Jane Conidi (This Is Me), Melanie Cowmeadow (Never Let Me Go), Amber Reid (Butter), Cassidy Mackie (King of Wishful Thinking), and Theoni Marks (Easy on Me)

Callbacks: Very skippable

Battles: Jas vs Cassidy (Decode), Theoni vs Lachie (It'll Be Okay), and Celestial vs Jordan (Art of Love)

Battles Singoff: Jordan Tavita (Dancing on my Own)

Tbh I could recommend half of the season
