Jimmie Allen would be great to have as a mentor too. Chris Daughtry should mentor on American Idol by himself. He hasn’t gotten to do that yet on American Idol.

movieguy - Any success these people have had - has nothing to do with Idol - since they were cut by the show.   So it's ridiculous that Idol tries to take credit.

 

The mentor slots should be reserved for those whose careers Idol actually help launch.

I’m sure when they first get signed, they are either asked weren’t on you on American Idol or the person themselves shares that considering how popular American Idol is. That is my point. Also, Lauren Diagle who didn’t ever make Semi Finals on American Idol was a mentor on the ABC version of American Idol. Why was Lauren Diagle a mentor on American Idol if it didn’t really help with her career? Plus, record executives always ask singers why we should have you on our label. It wouldn’t be smart to not mention I have experience on a singing competition if they have done so.
