Pokémon: The Mini-Rankdowns (Gen VIII) (#3-#1 Posted)

Continuing the recent trend of Mini-Rankdowns comes now Pokémon: The Mini-Rankdowns. Given the fact that a bunch of Pokémon Games (Snap, Diamond/Pearl and Legends: Arceus) and 23 New Pokémon Species has been released since the last Rankdown, I thought it would be fun to figure out which Pokémon will be the next to join the group of Squirtle, Espeon and Mew into the Hall of Fame.

 

Instead of doing a full rankdown, this time around we will do a seres Mini-Rankdowns to determine a winner for each Type of Pokémon and then one final round with the Top 150~200 to determinate the ultimate winner.

 

1. Before each round, I will ask for people to sign up if they are interested in participating in that particular round.

2. The rankers will then participate in a series of rounds where cuts and saves will be made in order to reach a Top 15~20, depending of the Type.

3. There will be a final round where a final top 20 will be determined and then rankers will submit their rankings to determine the ultimate winner.

4. Write-ups are not required, even in the final round, but are appreciated.

5. There will be deadlines, but I will make them reasonable in case people have real life stuff come up.

 

 

(Note: This won't start until next month,  so people have the chance to play or finish Legends)

can i make a suggestion?  Instead of doing 18 type mini rankdown, maybe do the 8 generations mini rankdown.  That would go faster and would get us a winner from each generation!  That would be fun to do before Gen 9!  (And I wouldn't have to see 18 Gen 1 winners from the other way)

yeah I was actually thinking of changing it to Gen instead of types as 18 is a lot...

 

I think we can do Gen I to Gen 8 and then wait for whenever Gen 9 comes... and then maybe a final round with the best from each Gen

i like that, with just doing the new pokemon introduced in each Generation!
