Thank you all for participating in my first ever rankdown that I am hosting. I have finally stopped being lazy and created this so hopefully it goes well! As a thank you to everyone for the first round we will all be advance 1 song straight into the top 20. So after the first round 7 songs will be in the top 20 already. I will mark in yellow the songs that your fellow rankers have advanced so any song not marked in yellow is free to be advanced into the top 20.  Since this is a pretty simple task you will have 24 hours to make your choice! Below is the list of songs to choice from so choose wisely! @*Chris @1234567890 @jarmon @Steven_ @Solaris  @*Diana

Since I have the opportunity to move on a song directly through to the Top 20, I am going with one that might not be as known as the rest of the songs listed but it is one that caught my attention right away when I heard, last year, and  one of my favourite discovery of the year :

Honestly, I know she's not well liked here and I get it. But, I really love this song so I will be advancing it to the Top 20!

I feel like this should be music that become a single in that year.  Otherwise some of these songs are going to show up multiple times.  :haha:

That happens in Stevens mini rankdown too. Really the only way to avoid that would be to not use top 100 charts. If Rolling stone or some other publication has a top 100 songs of the year and it's strictly for just the year we could consider that instead in the future.

or maybe just put a rule in if they land in the Top 20 in one year, they are eliminated from other years?  Since we are going backwards in time, it should free up some space!

I just scrolled through Spotify 2020 playlist for Best Country Songs of 2020, and there's no duplicate that I can notice from 2020 and 2021.

did that playlist have 100 songs? Because the one I found only had like 62 songs.

Yeah, no 100 songs.

We might have to go with different charts from that.

There's no 2019 and so-on lists though. So we might have to go to Billboard then.
