Steven_
8. NEED YOU NOW – LADY ANTEBELLUM MUSIC VIDEO LINK 10 QK: 1 AKSHAR: 3 NICO: 6 STEVEN: 6 WALLACE: 7 CHRIS: 8 REI: 9 DEREK: 12 DIANA: 12 RICHARD: 12 ALEX: 13 GIGI: 14 LILY: 17 ANDY: 20 STEVEN Quote "Need You Now" is Lady Antebellum's best song. They were rising stars in country music after their debut album, but this song from their sophomore album really solidified their place in the industry. "Need You Now" is beautifully sung with a great composition, and it was deserving of all its success. WALLACE Quote "Need You Now" by Lady Antebellum was my favorite country song of 2010, so this was the main country song I was really hoping for to make it to the Top 20 and I'm so glad that happened. Great work there to Chris & QK! "Need You Now" was such a massive and big hit for Lady Antebellum. I'm sure this was a big hit for them on the Country charts, but it also crossed over to the Pop charts and was a big hit in that format. This was also the song that introduced me to Lady A as well, as I had not heard of them before this song. But still, what a fantastic first impression they gave to me here. "Need You Now" is a really beautiful song. I do love how Hillary opens the song as she sounds and sings the opening so beautifully. I do love how Hillary and Charles (and maybe the other guy?) harmonize a bit on the pre-chorus and then how they power through the chorus that goes: And I wonder if I ever cross your mind? For me it happens all the time It's a quarter after one, I'm all alone and I need you now Said I wouldn't call but I've lost all control and I need you now And I don't know how I can do without I just need you now Charles sounds great singing the second verse of the song and I enjoy his part there. I like how he takes lead vocal of that pre-chorus, as Hillary did so the first time. The bridge is reallly short but it's still really good and powerful where Hillary sings: Oh, whoa Guess I'd rather hurt than feel nothing at all I love how Hillary and Charles powers through the rest of the song and they sound really great on those bigger notes. And yeah this is just a great song from Lady A. I hadn't seen the music video in quite a long time but it's a really cute and nice video. I'm glad they were able to find someone for them at the end of it. It's interesting with a number of country songs in this year-end, I am curious to see how they all rank amongst each other and which song does the best amongst them. I'll be rooting for this song to do the best but if not, then that's okay. But I am curious how Lady A will rank with their first appearance here. RICHARD Quote The overall production on this is very solid, and the singers sound great. The song itself isn’t the most distinctive lyrically or melodically, so I wouldn’t necessarily consider it as iconic as the others I’ve ranked above it. ANDY Quote This top 20 is really strong as I don’t dislike Need You Now. It’s just the most boring and forgettable song out of the top 20 7. ALEJANDRO – LADY GAGA MUSIC VIDEO LINK 9.14 REI: 2 ANDY: 3 GIGI: 3 RICHARD: 5 CHRIS: 6 ALEX: 7 LILY: 7 NICO: 9 STEVEN: 11 WALLACE: 13 AKSHAR: 15 DIANA: 15 QK: 15 DEREK: 17 ANDY Quote One of Gaga’s best, I’m sure I talked about it in the Musician rankdown but boy does this song slap RICHARD Quote Like pretty much all of Gaga’s songs, the production on this is superb and well ahead of her time. It’s just an all-around great song that definitely evokes a feeling of forbidden love. STEVEN Quote I was prepared to give this song a lower ranking simply because it's a song I have never sought out to listen to. But after listening to it again now, I realize I like this song better than I thought. It's super catchy with a very cool vibe and production. WALLACE Quote Well done to Lady Gaga on achieving 3 songs for the Final 20 once again! Of the three Lady Gaga songs, I do really like "Alejandro" but this is the song I could have done without and would have been okay with it missing the Top 20. Although I have no complaints of this being here. But the other two songs are just amongst my very favorite songs of Lady Gaga's. But "Alejandro" is still a really fun and catchy jam! I do love the vibe/feel of this song and how Lady Gaga sings it. The verses are really fun and has a good feel to it. But I do love the pre-chorus even more where she sings: You know that I love you, boy Hot, like Mexico, rejoice At this point, I've gotta choose Nothing to lose Don't call my name, don't call my name, Alejandro I'm not your babe, I'm not your babe, Fernando Don't wanna kiss, don't wanna touch Just smoke my cigarette and hush Don't call my name, don't call my name, Roberto Alejandro, Alejandro Ale-Alejandro, Ale-Alejandro Alejandro, Alejandro Ale-Alejandro, Ale-Alejandro SO fun and catchy! I especially love those parts of how she sings "Alejandro" and the different way she sings it. Then from the second verse, I love how she sings: She's not broken. She's just a baby for some reason. I don't really have any other favorite standout parts but I do like all of Lady Gaga's vocal delivery and how she sings the song. The music video is reallly interesting and so out there, but it's what you would expect from a Lady Gaga video. It is super entertaining nonetheless. Of her 3 songs, this is the one I hope shows up first for sure. Will it happen? I really have no idea but curious to see what happens. 6. YOU BELONG WITH ME – TAYLOR SWIFT MUSIC VIDEO LINK 9.07 CHRIS: 1 GIGI: 1 AKSHAR: 2 QK: 3 RICHARD: 3 STEVEN: 3 DIANA: 6 DEREK: 11 WALLACE: 12 ANDY: 13 LILY: 16 NICO: 18 ALEX: 19 REI: 19 RICHARD Quote I associate this song more with 2009, but that aside, it’s still one of my favorites in this bunch. The video is really charming and definitely brings me back to simpler times, and the song itself is the same way. The track overall is sweet but almost insidious in just how infectious it is, and that’s why I like it as much as I do. STEVEN Quote "You Belong With Me" is one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs, especially from her early country era. It's a sweet song about unrequited teenage love with a very catchy chorus. The music video is among Taylor's best too. This is a very fun and enjoyable track from Taylor, and I'm glad it managed to make it to the Top 20 this time after getting cut last round. WALLACE Quote I'm technically at that crossroad of either really liking a lot or on the lower side of loving "You Belong With Me" and I can't really decide where I'm at with this song. I guess I'll say I'm at the love side here. I also think of/associate "You Belong With Me" more with being a 2009 song but I'm fine with it being in this 2010 list as it was my favorite of the eligible Taylor Swift songs for 2010. I think this would have been #10 for me on the 2009 list but I do love this group of songs more, so it's #12 on this group of songs. I do think this is a really cute and fun song from Taylor that she delivers the story of it really well. I do really like how she sings the pre-chorus of the song of comparing her to this other girl this guy like where she sings: But she wears short skirts I wear T-shirts She's cheer captain And I'm on the bleachers Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find That what you're looking for has been here the whole time But then the chorus is really the song really shines and I love how she sings that part of the song: If you could see That I'm the one Who understands you Been here all along So, why can't you see You belong with me You belong with me It's reallly cute and catchy! From the second verse, I love the parts where she sings: Laughing on a park bench thinking to myself "Hey, isn't this easy?" You say you're fine I know you better than that Hey, what you doing with a girl like that? The bridge is another great, fun and catchy part of the song and I do love how Taylor builds up the song at that part where she sings: Oh, I remember you driving to my house In the middle of the night I'm the one who makes you laugh When you know you're 'bout to cry I know your favorite songs And you tell me about your dreams Think I know where you belong Think I know it's with me But yeah I do really like "You Belong With Me" and this was a great song that helped continue to help Taylor's rise in the pop world (as I assume she was already quite big in the country world at that time). It's such a cute, fun and catchy song. I do love the music video though. It's fun seeing Taylor playing both of the characters of the sweet dorky girl (who is initially friends with the guy) and the popular mean girl (who the guy crushes on). It's very young and kinda dated when looking back but it was quite age appropriate for Taylor when she made this song and video at the time. I'm sure this will be polarizing amongst the rankers as are all of Taylor songs at this point, where there will be a mix of high and low ranks but I'm still curious to see how this does. ANDY Quote Quintessential Taylor, definitely one of my favorite songs from this era. I love the story this song tells and that chorus is such an earworm. I still think her music gets better as her career goes on. ALEX Quote Maybe I didn’t rank this last because there’s another song I hate more. Or maybe I didn't rank it last because I appreciate Taylor’s voice more after suffering through Stevie Wright sing this on Idol. You decide! 5. LOVE THE WAY YOU LIE – EMINEM FEAT. RIHANNA MUSIC VIDEO LINK 9 ALEX: 1 NICO: 1 WALLACE: 2 DIANA: 3 REI: 5 DEREK: 8 GIGI: 9 AKSHAR: 10 CHRIS: 11 LILY: 11 STEVEN: 12 QK: 16 ANDY: 18 RICHARD: 19 ALEX Quote Whew, truly one of the most controversial and difficult songs ever written. I’ll take something challenging like this over the other generic crap released this year. I understand the uneasiness some may have towards this song, but I find it to be really well done, especially thanks to Rhianna doing this after her relationship with Chris Brown. WALLACE Quote Yesss I'm super glad that "Love the Way You Lie" made it through to the Top 20 as I reallly do absolutely love this song! This was such an iconic and epic collaboration from Eminem and Rihanna! This song was also the kind of song I was waiting for from Eminem when he made his comeback in the late 2000s/early 2010s. The Relapse era/album wasn't reallly it for me, but Recovery was it - as "Not Afraid" was a solid jam, but "Love the Way You Lie" was such an amazing song. This also is amongst one of my favorite songs of Eminem's and this is also one of my favorite Rihanna collaborations! I love how Rihanna starts singing the chorus of the song so beautifully where she sings: Just gonna stand there and watch me burn Well, that's alright because I like the way it hurts Just gonna stand there and hear me cry Well, that's alright because I love the way you lie I love the way you lie Eminem does such a great job bringing the angst and fire to the song with his rap verses. He raps some really deep and powerful stuff in this song. Some of my favorite parts are where he raps: I can't tell you what it really is I can only tell you what it feels like And right now, there's a steel knife in my windpipe I can't breathe but I still fight while I can fight As long as the wrong feels right it's like I'm in flight It's so insane 'cause when it's going good, it's going great I'm Superman with the wind at his back, she's Lois Lane But when it's bad it's awful Some of my favorite parts from Eminem on the second verse are where he raps: You ever love somebody so much you can barely breathe when you're with 'em You meet and neither one of you even know what hit 'em Got that warm fuzzy feeling Yeah, them chills used to get 'em Now you're getting sick of looking at 'em So they say it's best to go your separate ways Guess that they don't know you 'cause today that was yesterday Yesterday is over, it's a different day Sound like broken records playing over but you promised her But you lied again Now you get to watch her leave out the window Guess that's why they call it window pane Then from the 3rd verse some more of my favorite parts from Eminem are where he raps: Now I know we said things, did things that we didn't mean And we fall back into the same patterns, same routines But your temper's just as bad as mine is You're the same as me When it comes to love you're just as blinded Baby, please come back It wasn't you, baby it was me Maybe our relationship isn't as crazy as it seems Maybe that's what happens when a tornado meets a volcano All I know is I love you too much to walk away though Come inside, pick up your bags off the sidewalk Don't you hear sincerity in my voice when I talk Ahh it's such an intense and powerful story that Eminem raps and Rihanna sings on this song. It really moves and gives me chills. The music video does a great job in depicting the song! STEVEN Quote I have mixed feelings about this song. On one hand, I don't like the lyrics and meaning behind the song. It does seem like it's romanticizing domestic violence. On the other hand, the song is crafted really well. Eminem and Rihanna deliver this song very well (although Rihanna is barely utilized). The dramatic production is very cool, and the angsty vibe certainly leaves a lasting impression. This was a tough song to rank, but somewhere in the middle is where it fell for me. ANDY Quote Honestly? The lyrics are super gross and problematic and not in a “look it’s a cautionary tale” sort of way. It kind of feels like Eminem is speaking from experience here based on his delivery. I liked it when it came out but I feel kind of gross listening to it now RICHARD Quote I was going to rank this higher, but ultimately, my feelings are conflicted. Rihanna on the track is underutilized, but considering her circumstances, I actually don’t think I would’ve wanted her on the track at all. I don’t believe the intention of the song was to glorify violence, instead highlighting how abuse victims can all too easily lose their self worth in relationships. But when it comes down to it, the message isn’t delivered clearly and can easily be interpreted as justifying and perhaps even romanticizing domestic abuse. *Wallace
8: Oooh yay, I'm really pleased that "Need You Now" made it to 8th as I do really love this song. And lmao shockingly, I even wish it ranked a little higher than this. And probably the only time ever this will happen in this game but yay me ranking a country song higher than Chris. So I will celebrate this for a moment, lmaoo. Also not really surprised seeing the rankings for this all over the place - with 7 Top 10 and 7 Bottom 10 ranks. 7: Oooh phew, yay I was hoping for "Alejandro" to be the first Lady Gaga song to show up so I'm glad that actually happened here. This is still a great and catchy song from Gaga though. Well done to this getting 8 Top 10 rankings and no Bottom 3 ranks. 6: Wow, "You Belong with Me" did better than I thought and I'm quite content seeing this making it to 6th. Even though I was hoping for "Need You Now" to be the last standing country song, I'm not mad that this got that honor. Again, not completely surprised seeing this with 7 Top 10 (and wow 6 Top 3 ranks is really impressive) and 7 Bottom 10 ranks as that does makes sense with all over the place rankings. Diana ranking this 6th is a bit of a surprise. But congrats to Taylor on achieving her highest ranking yet this game! LMAOO Alex's comment. 5: Ahh darn, I was hoping for "Love the Way You Lie" to crack into the Top 4..... sooo close once again. But #5 is still a fantastic spot. Glad to see Eminem ranking so well again since he hadn't since "Lose Yourself" and always happy to see Rihanna rank well too. I love both artists' delivery on this track. Definitely get and understand all of the comments and the mixed feelings on this song though. Pleased with this getting 8 Top 10 ranks. My remaining #s: 1, 4, 6, 10. So yay all these songs made my Top 10! Hmm I think I would predict "Bad Romance" to win? But wouldn't be surprised if "Teenage Dream" wins. Steven_
4. TELEPHONE – LADY GAGA FEAT. BEYONCÉ MUSIC VIDEO LINK 9 LILY: 1 RICHARD: 1 WALLACE: 1 REI: 3 DEREK: 4 CHRIS: 7 ANDY: 8 STEVEN: 10 ALEX: 11 AKSHAR: 12 NICO: 13 GIGI: 16 DIANA: 19 QK: 20 RICHARD Quote I appreciate this rankdown for making me revisit Gaga’s music and making me realize just how much of an icon she really is. This collaboration is simply everything. Groundbreaking video that is just so extra in all the right ways, with killer choreography and production. Both Gaga and Beyoncé shine on the track, and each part of the song hits hard, from the verses to the chorus. It’s just overall superb in every way. WALLACE Quote I absolutely LOVE "Telephone" from Lady Gaga and Beyoncé! This was my favorite song of 2010 and it was a song that I really wanted to make sure and ensure was in the finals. So I am very glad and grateful that Richard advanced this song with me! "Telephone" is also my very favorite song of Lady Gaga's. Could it be because of the Beyoncé involvement? Maybe.... maybe not. But wow these are two powerhouse vocalists and performers on a song together, so you know it was going to be all kinds of epic. It certainly is! I love how Lady Gaga starts off singing the song in a soft lovely tone of her voice where she sings: Hello, hello, baby, you called? I can't hear a thing I have got no service in the club, you say, say? (Say) Wha-wha-what did you say, huh? You're breaking up on me Sorry, I cannot hear you, I'm kinda busy (I'm kinda busy) Then the song starts really blasting and getting so uptempo and fun right after that where she sings: K-kinda busy (I'm kinda busy), k-kinda busy (I'm kinda busy) Sorry, I cannot hear you, I'm kinda busy Then that infectious chorus comes in where Gaga sings: Stop callin', stop callin', I don't wanna think anymore I left my head and my heart on the dance floor Stop callin', stop callin', I don't wanna talk anymore I left my head and my heart on the dance floor Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh Stop telephoning me! Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh (Stop telephoning me) I'm busy! Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh (I'm busy) Stop telephoning me! Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh (Stop telephoning me) Can call all you want but there's no one home And you're not gonna reach my telephone (No) 'Cause I'm out in the club and I'm sipping that bubb And you're not gonna reach my telephone (No) Can call all you want but there's no one home And you're not gonna reach my telephone 'Cause I'm out in the club and I'm sipping that bubb And you're not gonna reach my telephone So addicting and jamming! But then Beyoncé comes in and absolutely slays and crushes her verse! LOL her part is so fun, entertaining and really gives me life. I love how she does some fast singing/rapping and some belting in there, and the attitude she sings the song! Boy, the way you blowing up my phone Won't make me leave no faster Put my coat on faster, leave my girls no faster I should've left my phone at home 'cause this is a disaster Callin' like a collector Sorry, I cannot answer I can't really pinpoint my very favorite parts from Beyoncé but I just love it all. Although to be more specific, I do reallly love the part where she belts out "I should've left my phone at home 'cause this is a disaster." I do really love the bridge (I think?) of the song where Lady Gaga & Beyoncé both sing it together (first Gaga then Bey) that goes: It's not that I don't like you, I'm just at a party And I am sick and tired of my phone r-ringing Sometimes I feel like I live in Grand Central S-Station (Station) Tonight I'm not taking no calls 'cause I'll be dancing ('Cause tonight I'm dancing) 'Cause I'll be dancing ('Cause tonight I'm dancing) 'Cause I'll be dancing (Tonight I'm dancing) Tonight I'm not taking no calls, 'cause I'll be dancing I love how Lady Gaga & Beyoncé slay the rest of the song with their vocal ad-libs! Not only do I really love "Telephone" as a song, but I reallly LOVE that music video. It's so iconic, entertaining and just so much fun to watch. It's 9:30 and it's kind of the only really long Gaga music video I can watch multiple times and never get tired of it or can actaully watch it in full. I love how they both play their characters/roles so much in this! With "Telephone" being my #1, this is the song I certainly would really love and hope to see win. It would be amazing to seeing Lady Gaga & Beyoncé getting a #1 together, but yeah it probably won't happen. But I just hope this can do really well and hopefully can make it to the Final 4? But we shall see what happens. ANDY Quote I remember listening to this song like 30 times in a row daily for weeks when this came out. It’s so good and the best possible outcome of a Gaga/Beyonce collab. My gay ass couldn’t handle the music video, it’s so good STEVEN Quote This is certainly a great collaboration between Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. It's super catchy and both artists really bring it on this track. This isn't a song I go out of my way to listen to, but I enjoy it whenever I do hear it. ALEX Quote Heterosexuality died the day this was released. 3. BAD ROMANCE – LADY GAGA MUSIC VIDEO LINK 7.57 REI: 1 CHRIS: 2 DIANA: 2 NICO: 4 RICHARD: 4 WALLACE: 4 AKSHAR: 6 DEREK: 7 STEVEN: 8 LILY: 10 ALEX: 12 ANDY: 12 GIGI: 15 QK: 19 RICHARD Quote The video for this (as are all of her videos, really) is iconic, and the production on the track is great. If I were to nitpick a bit, I’d say the chorus isn’t quite as anthemic as I would’ve liked, but overall, the song is still one of the best of the year. WALLACE Quote "Bad Romance" is such an iconic and memorable song from Lady Gaga. This is also often referred to as Lady Gaga's most iconic song, although that can be viewed on the eye of the beholder. I do really love this song and just couldn't have imagined the Top 20 without this song so I was glad to have advanced this and thankfully it made it through! I just love the creepy, eerie feel of this song with the music production and Gaga's vocals. It's just.... such a Gaga sound if I ever heard one. I love the creepy instrumental music at the start and then how the song builds up with Gaga's belting of those "Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh" lines and those "caught in a bad romance" lines! Lady Gaga continues on building up the epicness with those catchy and fun parts that goes: Ra-ra-ah-ah-ah Roma Roma-ma Gaga, "Ooh la-la" Want your bad romance I love how she sings the verses, still in that creepy haunting vibe but she sells that attitude so well! I want your ugly, I want your disease I want your everything as long as it's free I want your love Love, love, love, I want your love She knows exactly what she wants, huh? I love the chorus that comes in a little after that part and how Gaga sings it: I want your love, and I want your revenge You and me could write a bad romance (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh) I want your love, and all your lover's revenge You and me could write a bad romance Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh Caught in a bad romance Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh Caught in a bad romance SO fun and catchy! I love how she sings the entire second verse, although I don't have a specific standout part but I do love it all. But one of my favorite parts is before she sings the second chorus where she sings: You know that I want you. And you know that I need you ('Cause I'm a free b**ch, baby). OH Gaga. The bridge is another fantastic part of the song and I especially love the part where she slows down the song where she sings: I want your love, and I want your revenge I want your love, I don't wanna be friends Je veux ton amour et je veux ta revanche Je veux ton amour, I don't wanna be friends (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh) (I want you back) No, I don't wanna be friends (Caught in a bad romance) I don't wanna be friends Want your bad romance (Caught in a bad romance) Want your bad romance I love how she slows down the song, sings in french, builds up the song and does some powerful belting? So much amazingness going on at that part! Then she kills it with all of her belting at the end of the song too! "Bad Romance" was reallly such a MOMENT in Lady Gaga's career. The song is amazing, the video is AMAZING.... definitely up there as one of my favorite music videos from her! It also has over 1.5 billion views on Youtube, which is incredible! This song did win the Lady Gaga discography round. I'd like to also think it's a contender to do really well on this list. I think/hope it can make it to the Top 4. While it's not quite my personal choice to win it all, I do really love the song and would love to see it win if it can pull it off. I do think this is one of Lady Gaga's best chances to pull off the win here, so we'll see what happens. STEVEN Quote "Bad Romance" was the first Lady Gaga song I heard that I liked. Her previous singles didn't make much of an impression on me, but this song certainly stood out to me. It seems like "Bad Romance" is one of her most recognizable songs too. It's very catchy with a very cool composition. I don't know which song of hers I would consider my favorite, but this one is certainly up there. ANDY Quote A hallmark Gaga song if not her most iconic. I love it, especially the music video, but it’s never been a top favorite of mine from her. 2. TIK TOK – KESHA MUSIC VIDEO LINK 7.28 AKSHAR: 1 DEREK: 1 ALEX: 2 LILY: 3 DIANA: 4 WALLACE: 6 ANDY: 7 REI: 8 RICHARD: 8 QK: 9 STEVEN: 9 GIGI: 11 CHRIS: 13 NICO: 20 ALEX Quote These lyrics deserve a Pulitzer. WALLACE Quote "Tik Tok" is Kesha's debut single and wow what an explosive song for her to start her career with. I really do love "Tik Tok" and think this song is such a fun party jam of a song! It's viewed as Kesha's signature hit and personally speaking, I also think of this as my favorite song of Kesha's too! "Tik Tok" was one of those songs that was everywhere in 2010 and you couldn't get away from it. I get how that could annoy people but I could never get enough of this song. It's just so addicting and fun! I LOVEE it right from the start where Kesha sings: Wake up in the mornin' feelin' like P-Diddy (hey what's up girl) Always cracks me up. But then I also reallly love the pre-chorus that goes: I'm talkin' pedicure on our toes toes Tryin' on all our clothes clothes Boys blowin' up our phones phones Drop top and playin' our favorite CD's Pullin' up to the parties Tryna get a little bit tipsy Then that super catchy, fun adn addicting chorus comes in right after it! Don't stop, make it pop DJ, blow my speakers up Tonight, Imma fight 'Til we see the sunlight TiK ToK, on the clock But the party don't stop no Whoa-oh oh oh Whoa-oh oh oh How could you not jam to this? I have noooo idea. The second verse brings even more fun to the song but I especially love the parts where Kesha sings: Now, the dudes are linin' up cause they hear we got swagger But we kick em to the curb unless they look like Mick Jagger I'm talkin' bout - everybody getting crunk, crunk Now, now - we goin' 'til they kick us out, out Or the police shut us down, down Police shut us down, down Po-po shut us - (down)-man I do kinda like how Kesha slows the song at the bridge section. It's a nice refreshing feel to it. But it can't last too long because this is a PARTY JAM! Then I reallly love that part where Kesha sings: Now the party don't start 'til I walk in! Then the song gets back into fun entertaining party mood, which I really love! "Tik Tok" is a straight up FUN time of a song and just so fun, entertaining and gets me pumped! I'm sure this will do really well here but I can also see it being polarizing amongst some of the rankers. I am curious how her 3 songs rank amongst each other here. But I am hoping and rooting for "Tik Tok" to be her highest ranked song here, so fingers crossed! ANDY Quote This song slaps and is Kesha’s best imo RICHARD Quote Lyrically, the song is incoherent, particularly the bridge in relation to the rest of the track. With that said… I don’t care, lol. It’s a bop and will always be a bop. For sure one of the most infectious hits of 2010. STEVEN Quote "Tik Tok" is a very fun party song. I remember this song was everywhere when it was released, so Kesha sure did make a splash with her debut single. "Tik Tok" has a very catchy chorus, and the part near the end when she sings "the party don't start 'til I walk in" is probably my favorite part. 1. It’s just pure pop perfection. I hope this wins the countdown. STEVEN Quote "Teenage Dream" is my favorite Katy Perry song. This is a perfect pop song; it's so enjoyable to listen to. The melody and Katy's vocal delivery really captures the euphoric feeling of the lyrics very well. I like the guitar playing in the verses before the song explodes into that catchy chorus that's hard to resist singing along to. "Teenage Dream" is Katy Perry at her best, and this is easily my favorite pop song from this year. WALLACE Quote "Teenage Dream" is a great and beloved song from Katy Perry, that I felt it would be an easy shoo-in to make it to the Top 20 here and I am glad that was the case. I do love this song from Katy but am sure many others love this much more than me and would rank it higher than me too. I do love that spring/summer breezy feel that this song gives. I can't describe it but it's lighthearted and so easy to listen to. I do love how Katy sings the song at the start but I do love how she sings the pre-chorus. Let's go all the way tonight No regrets, just love We can dance until we die You and I, we'll be young forever Then I love the chorus even more, which has such a fun and catchy sound to it! You make me feel Like I'm livin' A teenage dream The way you turn me on I can't sleep Let's run away and don't ever look back, Don't ever look back My heart stops When you look at me Just one touch Now, baby, I believe This is real So take a chance and don't ever look back, Don't ever look back The feel good factor continues on throughout the song into the second verse, which is just as great as the earlier parts of the song. I love the parts where Katy sings: I finally found you My missing puzzle piece I'm complete Then I also really love the bridge and how Katy sings that part of the song that goes: I'mma get your heart racing In my skin-tight jeans Be your teenage dream tonight Let you put your hands on me In my skin-tight jeans Be your teenage dream tonight I enjoy all of the ad-libs and big vocals that Katy sings towards the end of the song. "Teenage Dream" is a great, fun and classic song from Katy Perry. Definitely amongst her most beloved songs of her discography, for sure. And deservingly so! I feel like I would be shocked if this doesn't make the Top 4 as I can totally see this making the Final 4. I don't know if it'll have enough power to win but we'll see. RICHARD Quote This is just a really solid pop song. Catchy verses, catchy chorus. It definitely encapsulates the summer love type of vibe really well, so overall, mission accomplished. *Wallace
4. Ahh, well I'm happy that "Telephone" made it to the Top 4, but sad it couldn't pull off the win. I do wonder how this would have done with Elliott's vote but probably still woujldn't have won..... so I will think of it as that. But yeah this is such an iconic collabo from Lady Gaga & Beyoncé and super glad to see it doing well here. OH WAIT this also ranked 4th on the Gaga rankdown so seems like this song will forever get 4th. Yayy for 3 #1s and 8 Top 10 ranks! Love and agree with Richard's comments and lmao Alex's comment. Oh wait.... seeing the score for this vs. BR, this stood no chance at winning.... Ugh. 3: Ooof, dangg I was kinda expecting "Bad Romance" to win and hoping for it if "Telephone" couldn't pull it off so a bummer that this fell short. Woww at all of those #4 rankings. Also slayy and yay at 10 Top 10 rankings. I just guess Gaga isn't meant to win here. 2: Oooh wow I'm actually kinda surprised that Kesha's "Tik Tok" ended up managing to beat out these Lady Gaga songs and making it to #2! Very great and impressive for Kesha to achieve. I knew this would be her highest ranked song but still surprised it got to 2nd after her other songs didn't fare so well. 2 #1s, 5 Top 5s and 11 Top 10s are all really impressive. I also knew this would be Nico's #20 for quite a bit so at least his #20 didn't win this time? LMAO Alex's comment. Agree with all of the comments written on this pretty much. 1: Hmm I knew "Teenage Dream" would do really well. I do love the song but kinda disappointed with it winning, lol. And yay my lowest ranking to win yet. But it's a great, fun and modern classic pop song from Katy Perry. I totally get the pop perfection comments. Just not realllly my top favorite to win but eh, still a deserving winner. 3 #2s, 6 Top 5s and wow... 12 Top 10 rankings, all impressive. Kinda surprised seeing Alex ranking this so low though. Oops I did underestimate its power to win, lmao. But LMAOO at no one's #1 winning. Is this the first time this has happened? We all (technically) lose. My previous low winning was my #9 but now it's my #10. Just keep it all in my Top 10 please, IDF. Also this Top 4 going in the opposite order I was hoping for.
