Misirlou
Also, if we´re talking vocals, I like his tone. Much gruffier and rougher than the typical country male on the show. Edited August 22 by Misirlou

Just so we can keep The Voice in the conversation, I’ll say I don’t think he’d do particularly well on the show. Not enough polish.
RTV
I'd be surprised if Oliver agreed to audition for The Voice. Going through the process required to compete on the show in Hollywood—not to mention the inescapable manipulation by TPTB—doesn't seem like something he would enjoy. Regarding the lyrics, Oliver revealed in an interview that he wrote the second half of the song a day before the music video was filmed.

It´s no surprise that he whole "honest, hardworking man being screwed over" narrative the song portrays has won over most of the right wing party. I actually haven´t really seen that much criticism from the left as opposed to just praise from the right. He makes valid points across the song, but the execution of some of them are quite iffy (I´m sure some here might agree if you just look at the lyrics). Overall I feel like the whole overnight success story is part of the charm, rather that just the song itself. I´ll leave it at that, and I´m actually interested to see what his next move will be. I don’t want to get too deep into this here for obvious reasons, but it used to be the left would carry the “working man gets screwed over by the man” message. At some point, they switched. Actually, it wasn’t that long ago. That seemed to be Bernie Sanders’ core message, from what I recall. Sorry about the politics. This isn’t an endorsement of any ideology, just an observation, which ties into the message of this song. Edited August 22 by TeamAudra

Sorry. There are numerous times I could have complained about politics in the threads, but let it go. Edited August 22 by TeamAudra

Misirlou
Came across this dude, and holy s**t. Covering Soundgarden´s most difficult song, imagine someone like him on the show, solely on that genre.
