"Talent" is indeed not something you can measure with a ruler.    There are people who are stronger vocalists, with more ability to do certain things with their voices, others are better at

Boring doesn’t mean mediocre. Same thing with being entertaining doesn’t mean you have amazing vocal talent , like Gwen is very entertaining but she is far from having amazing vocal abilities, same with Carrie Underwood , Carrie underwood is boring IMO but she is amazing vocally and her vocal abilities are top notch .

Actively rooting for the top 4, (Jim and Sasha have a CT/Team Ari boost for me), 5-7 I enjoy and I think are consistent (Joshua and Holly are on the rise), Paris and Jershika are good, but I find Paris boring and I find Jershika inconsistent. Lana is the only contestant I think isn't very good. (I would have put Gymani in that first group, I liked her a lot)

If you correctly ignore the rounds which have weeks long rehearsal times and autotune....they have been kinda that....just like every other duo/trio on this television series.  The bad news is: typically, it only gets harder from here.  TPTB may need to throw them a few songs they already know to get their mojo back.

Trying to be unbiased

 

1. Joshua- Consistent and dude tackled Freddie. If Freddie performed at a 10 his performance was an 8, impressive.

2. Paris great voice, enjoy the old school r and b, Bill Withers vibe

3. Hailey-  Amazing poise for 14 years old, really connected with her last song

4. WEndy- A tad overrated but a pro, quite versatile like Kelly Clarkson

5. Girl Named Tom- Bekkah has a beautiful voice, one of the best in the comp but the guys arent much better singers than Jim and Sasha. And they're a bit Johny one note

6.  Jershika- Good singer, very emotional but I feel is a bit pitchy and just not the biggest fan of gospel

7. Holly- She's good but seems like she tries to do too much with the song sometimes

8. Jim and Sasha- weakest singers left yes. But music is not just about techinically the best singers. Their style is homey and something I'm more likely to listen to than most of the artists

9. Jeremy- One of my favorite tones but his sing choices are a little too on on the nose and basic

10. Lana- She's good in her element but I think her element is limited

Joshua’s top 3 talent wise and I like Hailey and GNT but you just can’t just rank them them higher than Wendy if your basing it on talent

GNT & Hailey are more talented than Wendy. GNT being a trio and very on key with harmonies. Hailey being 14 years old! Then Wendy, who is 57 and has a longer singing career than either of them. I ranked them by “Talent” not vocals.

It’s tough to compare without a video of Wendy singing live on national TV at 14 years old. I actually think it’s pointless to even argue about it.

Possible hot take, but come on. Wendy > GNT, at least in terms of vocal versatility and power. Nothing against the siblings though.
