I just want both teams to have clean skates at the Olympics this time around after all the heartbreak of four years ago.

Maybe they go to the pool of retired female skaters? I wouldn’t be surprised if they do because they have in the past with Kristi and Nancy.

You know Tara would do it if they got Johnny to put in a good word for her. But I do seriously respect Michelle for taking her time to work on a 2016 presidential campaign (even if I would have preferred her to support a candidate a little more to the left #politics).

Some thoughts after watching all the dances:

  • Amanda's Fusion was amazing! It deserved a perfect score. :( She also had a great and very pretty Freestyle, but I think it was the least memorable of the bunch.
  • Seeing Cody's Fusion just solidifies my stance that "Free Your Mind" needs to be retired. Way overused and no one will ever be as iconic as Mel B's Paso to it. His Freestyle was fun. Overall, I think this was his best week, but I'm still left underwhelmed by him.
  • As per usual, JoJo SLAYED.:wub:Love both her Fusion and her Freestyle. JoJo & Jenna have been amazing to watch each week with the creativity and flawless dancing and this was no exception. JoJo definitely goes down as one of the greatest celebs this show has had.
  • While I am not a huge Iman fan, he definitely is fun and Daniella really delivers with the choreography. That Freestyle was great! If we couldn't get a female winner, I'm glad it was Iman who won because at least he's fun and delivered some iconic moments like his Contemporary.

Overall, this was a good finale. Loved Amanda & JoJo as always. While I'm sad neither won, I'm glad we were able to get a full season of them slaying on a weekly basis.  Iman was a lot of fun, so I can see why he won instead of Cody when you knew it was gonna be a guy who won after taking into account the "ringer backlash" the girls definitely received. Cody did better than past weeks, but I've been underwhelmed by him all season except for that week 2 Salsa where he was randomly good in the rehearsal footage. I'm still amused that Katy Perry's Backup Dancer wasn't a better dancer on the show, and I think knowing he had that prior dance experience hindered my thoughts on him when he wasn't as good as most with prior dance experience end up being.

Daniella a mirrorball champion   So happy for her!

And happy for Iman as well, totally defied expectations. Easily my most way-off pre-season prediction yet, to guess him as 14th place and him to win? I love it :dead:

So happy JoJo could make second too. I had a good feeling about a JoJo/Iman top 2 but was nervous that Cody could come through and take her place there. She’s done so amazing all season and Jenna has been such a brilliant partner in the process. Definitely should go down as one of the greats!

Wow been waiting 3 years for my Tinashe return to DWTS but it wasn’t supposed to be like this!

IKR? :dead: I was thinking "Oooh IDF, what are we gonna do about Tinashe now? 🙈 " :dead:

Lol still love her, of course! :haha:❤️

I really do not think there was any more JoJo could have done to win. She checked all of the boxes to be the winner, she was just too much of an "over"dog compared to the underdog Iman (which may have made people want to root against her.) While she did have the arc of being a role model to young kids around the world and being able to transform into a woman through the experience, I think it was moreso to set her up for the next step of her carreer (like Zendaya) than to get her to win the mirrorball. We saw it on Sunday at the AMA's when she showed up in a gorgeous black dress instead of unicorn/glitter attire. The general public just did not want to give her the crown.

I also think it is interesting how we all thought conservative voters would be the downfall of JoJo at some point this season. However, the fact that the finale was 3/4 minorities (1 black man, 1 gay man, 1 gay woman) and the only non-minority got 4th place (Despite being a blonde skinny white woman like the past two winners) makes me think the homophobia and racism in the viewer base is pretty dead. Either that, or the homophobes/racists are not as powerful as the contestants fanbases.

I’m gonna say it’s the latter. JoJo had a huge fan base and was leading the social media numbers every week (save for Horror Night), and Cody had a massive Peloton cult.

But it is reassuring that Jojo made it to second having only landed in the bottom once, whereas pre-season I expected her to be saved a handful of times to make the finale.

I don’t think Alan’s a bad pro. His Ballroom routines are actually very well choreographed. He’s just a Maks/Tony situation where they’re great Ballroom choreographers but drop the ball when given the task of choreographing a routine where there’s so much freedom to do whatever you want with choreography.

Yeah you bring a lot of good comments regarding JoJo there. I was also thinking this was a stepping stone for her to transition her career as a young adult woman to venture off to a more grown like image (although she'll still be there for her kids audience/fanbase). I do wish her all the best going forward as I see her having a very bright career (though she already has but still).

Agreed on this.

Although nothing was going to really change even if Amanda had a stronger choreographed freestyle. :(
