Disgusting. Two of the best of the week (imo.)

I probably liked them both than the average IDFer, honestly.

Have to give Kaitlyn props for the arrangement, and I enjoyed the moments where Carson displayed his rasp. (I wanted more though).

However, I don't disagree with anyone that says that their voices are perhaps not really ready for the show yet.

Yeah... Carson kinda got a 1, 2, 4, and a host of 5s.

I wasn't paying attention to who posted the scores, but giving a 1 and 2 for Carson's performance is just being petty lol. Vocally it was average, not interesting but what you would expect from a country male I'd say.

Understandably so if they think Carson will be a snowflake killer, but I tried not to let that hinder my judgement of his performance. But 1 and 2's are more rare than perfect 10s, you have to actually try or have the nastiest throat infection to sound that bad.

In anycase, good job for him being better than Chavon at least!

Gave him a 5.5. The vocals were fine, he hit all the notes, but his tone was thinner than Tanner Gomes' and I just couldn't enjoy any of it. The song choice just made matters worse imo.

Damn lol

Yes, the sound mixing sucked, and the harmonies were off in parts, but I think the individual parts and the ending were decent. I gave them a 6, personally.

Sorry, i'm very biased on this one because i really disliked it. But yeah, i  admit i was really harsh on them.

Because Episode 5 is today, I can say that I still haven’t given any auditions below a 4. I like to save low scores for the performances that fall in trainwreck territory (and even then, I’ve considered some of my grades too lenient)

I was more generous than I expected to be for week two, but we’ll see what happens this week.

I don’t tend to go below a 5 ever unless someone’s vocal is just a mess (I think I only gave out one sub-5 score last season, tbh) but on the other hand, I don’t go above a 9.5 in the auditions so even the people I like best have a chance to impress me more in later rounds.

Episode 1

- Girl Named Tom - Helplessly Hoping - 8.5

Probably my favourite trio performance I've heard on the show, what keeps this from a 9 is when the guy starts singing without the harmony. He sounds very good, just nowhere near as captivating or beautiful as the rest of the performance

Katie Rae - The Bones - 6.5

Her tone was a mixed bag. Only at some points did I like it. But vocally, good performance.

Peedy Chavis - Heartbreak Hotel - 7.5

Not a perfect vocal, but I like the different colors of his voice that he showed in this performance, also, dude is entertaining to watch so that brings him up a bit

Jonathan Mouton - Leave The Door Open - 7

Smooth. Very good voice. At some parts I wished there was a tiny bit more power.

Katherine Ann Mohler - We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off - 6.5

I didn't really like the high note she did. Other than that, good performance and love the song choice.

Jack Rogan - House of The Rising Sun - 6

Nothing wrong with his voice. But nothing that stands out, same with the arrangement. I do appreciate the different take though

Kinsey Rose - Cowboy Take Me Away - 6

Good performance, but doesn't stand out

Vaughn Mugol - The A Team - 6

Good performance, I heard some iffy notes and his voice is a bit thin, not that it's the case. But it just sounds like he's trying to reach for the note if that makes sense.

Wendy Moten - We Can Work It Out - 9

Nothing to say that hasn't already been said, phenomenal performance.

Episode 2:

Lana Scott - hole in the bottle - 6

Good voice. But doesn't stand out

Samuel Harness - Here Without You - 8

I did say in the unpopular opinion thread that I didn't like his tone, but I relistened to it and I'm not sure what I was talking about. I liked it for the most part, only during some moments I didnt. I also always appreciate a unique voice which I think he has. Still don't like the song choice though.

Carolina Alonso - El Triste - 7

High notes sound a bit iffy, the rest was very good though.

Chavon Rodgers - drivers' license - 5.5

Even with all the editing, there were a lot of iffy moments in this performance. The low breathy notes sound weak, some of his falsetto unpleasant. That being said, he sounded very good at points. But the weak vocal moments bring it down for me.

Joshua Vacanti - Into the Unknown - 6

It's weird cause his range is pretty impressive, but it still sounds a bit karaoke to me, and I don't like his tone that much.

Hailey Green - Home - 7

Not perfect, but I like her tone alot, I can see why some people wouldn't like how she sings, but for the most part,, it didn't bother me.

Jim and Sasha - Leaving On A Jet Plane - 6

Good performance, nothing that stands out though

Paris Winningham - Superstition - 7.5

Love the vocal acrobatics and the screams, but his tone doesn't really stand out

Gymani - pov - 8.5

Perfect vocal and I like almost all the changes she made to the song. I will say, I'm not sure how much i like her voice for the song. But she still managed to put together a great performance.

Ryleigh Plank - Anyone - (pleasant surprise and well placed runs with a nice vibrato, but she kept going sharp when it expanded too much so hopefully that gets more under control)

Jershika Maple - Can You Stand the Rain - (if you’re friends with Rose and can crush those low notes, I become contractually obligated to stan)

Manny Keith - Break My Heart - 7.75 (deserved a second chair, good energy, and made an out of the box song choice work for him)

KJ Jennings - Put Your Records On - 8.25 (I would’ve been right there with John and Blake with the quick turns, she’s got a pleasant tone and she made the song feel fresh which is hard to do)

LiBianca - Good Days - 8.5 (The second pleasant surprise of the night, and already one half of the most iconic coach/artist pair of the season #isaidwhatisaid)

Sophia Bromberg - Heather - 5.5 (The most polarizing of the night, and I give her kudos for overcoming two EDs and making it onto the show at a young age. That said, I’d pass)

Wyatt Michael - Mack the Knife - 7 (Normally I don’t mind the crooner types, and I liked Wyatt pre-season, I just wasn’t feeling him. He’s decent, though)

Brittany Bree - Call Out My Name - 8.75 (Distinct tone and plenty of power, I just prefer others in the lane over her. She’ll be enjoyable to hear on the show, though)
