Performances from your favorites you didn’t like

Hailey Mia - deja vu 

I didn't totally dislike this, but the whole performance didn't go anywhere vocally. 

 

Morgan Myles - Total Eclipse Of The Heart 

She was all over the place, especially at the end. She let the nerves took the best of her on that performance

Josh Kaufman - Set Fire To The Rain

Matt McAndrew - Over The Rainbow (Not bad but I was bored)

Addison Agen - Humble and Kind (I know there a lot of people that liked it, but I didn't like it)

Kyla Jade - This is Me

Reagan Strange - Cry

Jake Haldenvang - Turning Tables 

John Holiday - Halo

Paris Winningham - Ain't Nobody (Again not bad, but granted his studio was soooo goooood, I was underwhelmed. I had really high hopes for it).

Just realized that my favorites decided that the finale was a good time to flop

omg how dare you hate on morgan !!!! how could you ever say that she FLOPPED. those words are very unkind and you are not nice for saying that !!!! this is very bad. i blame gwen for her performance i bet she criticized her there for no reason. if you like her that much, just create a gwen fan thread and leave this one because i hate gwen!*

bodie- Without Me

 

Most of his performances up to this point were great, and he was just coming off his best performance, but when I saw this performance, my reaction was “why are you doing this?”. This performance basically erased the momentum he had gained from the past few weeks, and was one of the factors that prevented him from winning the show.

Dana Monique - Leave the Door Open

 

Still would've gone with her over Rachel based on overall run, but I didn't like this at all. Song was a bad fit and she sounded shaky the whole time.

Kyla Jade - This is me

 

got a bit messy due to her getting emotional, but even then her powerhouse vocals were pretty underwhelming, especially knowing what shes capable of.

 

John Holiday - Halo

 

This should have been good but it wasnt. His high notes and belting were at its weakest here, just no power to them. Given that this song has a lot of belting, it makes most of the performance pretty bad.

 

Wendy Moten - I will always love you.

 

Also incredibly underwhelming. You'd think she'd slay this song, but this was her weakest performance on the show, it's bland as far as Whitney covers go, and she actually struggles with pitch occasionally.

 

Davon Fleming - love on top.

 

It's an entertaining mess, but a mess nonetheless. His falsetto is so thin here and has a lot of pitchy moments.

 

Dana Monique - leave the door open.

 

She did the best she could but falsetto is clearly not her strong suit. Simply a baffling song choice especially since she never used headvoice prior.

 

 

Bodie - Without Me

 

Weak vocal throughout, even Bodie has his limits with his versatility I suppose.

I think she was probably trying to go current, since that's how minivan always does it with AA powerhouses, once it's clear that they're too good to be labelled as "screaming" the next argument is that they're not current relevant enough (I could go on but that's a rant for another day lol)

 

Even then I don't know why she (or TPTB) would choose that song. Jonathan Mouton did as best as he could with it too but especially with the verses I just don't think it's suited for a singing competition. Kinda like any Lizzo song...
