Paris Winningham Fan Thread

If he does do Otis, I’d rather see “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” over “Try a Little Tenderness” or “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” since it’s familiar enough to get votes but I believe has only been covered once on the show (Sundance’s audition) so it doesn’t feel overdone.

I just hope Blake’s smart enough to keep Paris away from the bus for a while yet, if not the whole season.

On second thoughts, even though Try a Little Tenderness has been done a few times already, it would indeed be epic. You know the coaches would be standing up before the performance ends.

Paris would do great with that song. He can really bring the intensity of it

I've only heard Jason Isbell's cover of this song and I remember hating it because Isbell's voice was way too thin for the song but I'm sure Paris would do great on it! Lmao.

lol Jason's is definitely not the version to judge it by. At least he's earnest.  Love that album though. Some real gems.

I'd still prefer Try a Little Tenderness but would feel lucky to get either. Paris and Otis should happen.

I love this song so much! Rayshun's version lives in my mind rent free

As long as he continues to kill it the Military Vote will definitely help him out alot so dont you worry!

Military vote isn’t everything, though - he has to appeal to people who don’t 100% relate to him (luckily, being Team Blake boosts his odds of making it further into the competition since the Facebook crowd loves Blake + tends to back his artists).

Prime example: I thought Victor from last season had fourth or even third place within reach last season, given he had repeatedly mentioned his HBCU + tackled gospel and some older-school soul stuff (and HBCU communities tend to be really tight-knit and supportive of their own from my observations as an outsider) but that didn’t pan out.

Paris definitely has a lot of appeal to a decent chunk of the audience, but relying on just one segment to carry an artist through the competition is a risky proposition.

Switching to Team Blake, what I thought would be his demise initially, ended up being the best thing to happen to him. Had he stayed with Legend, he would have been the clear frontrunner there now, but with John as his coach, semis was 100% his ceiling.

With Blake, I think he can actually make finale if everything plays right for him (which I hope it does).

Loved Paris's song choice for him and loved the performance. He was a little flat at the beginning but once he found his footing he got better and delivered one of his best so far. I still prefer last week's performance from him but still amazing. I want to hear him sing Try A Little Tenderness next week.

For me it's Chris Weaver's version. His gravelly tone combined with his power was insane. There hasn't been anyone quite like him imo.

I would love for Paris to sing the song though.

Add me pls.

Welcome to the Top 11.

Hoping for a killer song choice next week so he can show more than this one.

Paris made it through, thank goodness.

Hoping for a good song next week that’s a little less “expected” of an R&B/soul guy (but is still close enough to his wheelhouse he can make it work).

All of this!

we'll have to follow their SM, maybe we find something
