Scotty McCreery calls for unity in “Same Truck,” his next album’s just-released title track

M_ScottyMcCreery-6.jpg Jeff Ray/Triple Tigers

Scotty McCreery is hoping to bring fans together with his brand-new “Same Truck,” a song that points out that we’ve all got more in common than we might realize.

“But we’re all in the same truck / Heading down a different two lane / Kickin’ up the same dust / Praying for the same rain,” Scotty sings in the song’s soaring chorus. “Closing down the same bars / Different wishes on the same stars…”

The song is the title track of his upcoming album, which is due to arrive on September 17. Also on the project’s track list is “Why You Gotta Be Like That” and his current top-ten hit, “You Time.”

The truth behind “Same Truck” is one that’s become clearer to Scotty the more he tours and travels, he says.

“We’re all more alike than we are different. I’ve witnessed that on almost a daily basis as I talk with people and watch them while traveling around the world to perform,” he reflects. “This is my way of saying that we’re all on the same team here; let’s all work toward getting along again. Let’s build each other up.”

While Scotty’s fans may all be driving the “Same Truck,” they’ve got the chance to pre-order a different — and exclusive — version of the new album starting this week. The limited-edition version of Same Truck features alternate cover art.

from Mike & Judys FB page .....

Mike N Judy McCreery
I was just watching (again) the new music video to Scotty’s new song, Same Truck, filmed close to Angier. I thought, people should know his co-writer, Taylor Phillips is another NC guy just 45 minutes away in Sanford. Taylor has had cuts with Brantley Gilbert, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan and many more. Over 11 years ago, when neither guy was even close to a music career, we randomly met Taylor and he ended up at our house after a Garner football game. I think back on that and how, as fate would have it, Scotty and Taylor have co-written a great song that will hopefully be another No.1 for each of them. Give him a follow and watch his career too! #goodnessgrowsinnorthcarolina Taylor Phillips

Getting an early listen to 's upcoming album, SAME TRUCK. Such great music! This isn't the boy we watched on Idol, this is a fine, talented young man. Well done Scotty, Frank, Derek, Aaron and

- I may have dropped a tear in my coffee on "The Waiter."

FYI.........................(was wondering how she got the new album) ...👀

And funny story about @scottymccreery … his event at the @theryman was the last event I attended before shutdowns, making him one of the last people I saw before quarantine. And here he is, my FIRST in-person interview! What a person to bookend this experience! Scotty, you’re amazing, my friend! Your new album “Same Truck” is incredible 🙏🏽 I can’t wait for your fans to hear it!

Ref: DAMN STRAIT... Interview w/POP CULTURE

Scotty McCreery Recalls the Moment He Met Country Legend George Strait (Exclusive)

https://popculture.com/country-music/news/scotty-mccreery-recalls-moment-met-country-legend-george-strait/

Scotty McCreery has thousands of fans who look up to him and feel inspired by his music. But there's one country music legend who had a big influence on the American Idol winner's career as he's grown into one of the most popular artists in the genre. Ahead of McCreery's fifth studio album release of Same Truck, the 27-year-old revealed in a new interview with PopCulture.com that one of his songs on the new album "Damn Straight" was influenced by George Strait — someone he's a "massive" fan of. With lyrics that take you back to a moment in time, he couldn't help but note how that's what Strait's music does for fans and wanted to run parallel with that idea.

"For me, I'm a massive George Strait fan," the North Carolina native gushed. "I think if you're a country fan, you gotta love George Strait. He's got those songs that just take you back to a certain moment in time and take you back to certain years, a relationship, or think of a family member. So when I heard this song, I was kind of freaking out a little bit, I was like, 'This is an amazing song.'" While he enjoyed the lyrics and tune, he wanted to run it by a few family and friends first to see what their thoughts were. "They all freaked out, and I was like 'Okay.' I just think it's so clever and cool; it's one of my favorites."

McCreery went on to share details of the time he met the "Carrying Your Love With Me" singer, and it was definitely a moment he'll hold forever. "That was like, nuts to me!" McCreery said of the time he met Strait at the popular Ryman Auditorium. "It was 2011, the label was doing a thing at the Ryman, I didn't even know he was gonna be there, or was there, I get a tap on my shoulder, 'Hey, Scotty!' And I turned around and it's George freaking Strait! I was like, 'What?'" he said indicating his utter shock over the stunning encounter. "It was such a cool moment

."Same Truck is set to release for fans on Sept. 17, 2021, and is one that McCreery had more time to focus on than any other album he's put out as a result of the 2020 pandemic. While it's hard to ignore the devastation that took place during that tumultuous year, McCreery is keeping a positive spirit as he notes a number of things he's grateful for from that year, including being able to spend more time at home with his wife, Gabi Dugal. Investing his heart and soul into this album, the country music singer is thrilled to share it with fans here soon.
