'90s TV SHOWS RANKDOWN

features-90s-tv.jpg

RULES
- This rankdown will focus on popular television shows that have aired during the '90s.

- A group of rankers will eliminate television shows until a winner is ultimately crowned.

- At the start of a cycle, one ranker will nominate a list of TV shows for elimination. The other rankers will then choose to cut and save. The cut shows will be eliminated from the rankdown. The saved shows survive that round of nominations and will be immune from nominations the following round.

- These rules will be standard for the beginning of the game, but they will change as the game progresses. Any new rules or twists will be announced at the beginning of a cycle.
- Rankers will have thirty minutes to post a write-up of the show they are eliminating. Write-ups must contain at least 100 words and include an image related to that television show. Do not plagiarize. You can quote sources, but the write-up must have at least 100 original words. Discuss the plot of the show, what you like or do not like about the show, or anything else you feel is relevant. If you're writing about a show you are not familiar with, then do your research. Wikipedia should be enough to help you come up with 100 words of your own.

- Cuts and saves are at a first come, first serve basis. Rankers can only refresh their choices once before the thirty-minute time limit. If you need to refresh again, then you'll need to refresh thirty minutes after your first refresh. Other rankers are free to swoop in and steal your claimed shows if you do not post a write-up within the designated time limit.

- If a ranker does not post a write-up 24 hours after nominations were posted without asking for an extension, then the nominator or any other ranker is free to take over.

I'm at 180 now, but I'm willing to go to 200. Let me know if there's anything missing you want included.

i tried to send you a PM but it says you’re unable to receive messages.

  • Steven_ changed the title to '90s TV Shows Rankdown (Applications due 6/13)

Okay, you all can now send me your applications.

The goal is to start this on Monday, so you'll all have until the end of the weekend to let me know if you want to play.

@Steven_ Sex and the City is probably more applicable for comedy than drama. I don’t know why places keep categorizing it as the latter. :dead:

I think in the 90s it was still very much "anything that's 30 minutes is a comedy, anything that's an hour is a drama"

Sex and the City was only a half hour.

Like I think their longest episode (excluding the two-parter finale) was 31 minutes.
