.Rei Posted July 19, 2024 Author Posted July 19, 2024 US10 RESULTS PART FOUR (tie)8-9. Hayley Erbert & Dmitry Chaplin - "Meant" - (Rumba by Dmitry Chaplin) Watch Here RANKINGS: @Zoey - 2 @*Wallace - 3 @taylorkat - 4 @Erestor - 9 @.Rei - 14 @kritaaay - 15 @FrogLenzen - 15 @totes4totes - 16 Avg. Score = 9.75 COMMENTS Wallace Quote This was such a gorgeous and stunning Rumba! I loved watching Hayley grow and get better with her ballroom as the season progressed. I loved the variety in Rumba style this dance showcased. This was a really mature routine. It bwas passionate, sexy, steamy, vulnerable, emotional and just everything. I loved the mix of fast and slow movements here. The storytelling and chemistry was so beautiful and believable! Hayley really shone here with her dancing, technique and performing. Dmitry showcased her beautifully, though they also shone together as a pair. Rei Quote this ranked over her tango??? #choices Despite having nearly no rumba content, it was still very entertaining Kriti Quote The chemistry between them really carries what is... not really a rumba if we are being honest. I still extremely enjoy it, I enjoy literally every routine in this top 20 but this was barely a rumba. Derek Quote Another fabulous entry in the Hayley journey toward becoming a superstar ballroom dancer of her own. I’d love to sit down and do an interview with her to talk about her ballroom experience up to this point, her time on the show with Dmitry and Leonardo, and how that all led to her auditioning and making it onto the DWTS Troupe. I think this is superior to her Leonardo piece. More organic, fluid, and emotions etc. Probably because she didn’t spend most of her time rehearsing with Curtis this time lmao. Megan Quote This is a rumba in that Dmitry called it a rumba and so did the judges. Because like actual rumba content? Like a few measures worth. It's what clearly made Dmitry a good DWTS pro and a good choreographer for this show. But like. Is it rumba? No. 7. Top 20 - "Puttin' On The Ritz" - (Jazz-Funk by NappyTabs) Watch Here RANKINGS: Kriti - 1 Megan - 5 Rei - 5 Zoey - 9 Derek - 10 Wallace - 13 Patryk - 14 Gigi - 20 Avg. Score = 9.63 COMMENTS Kriti Quote I still think this was a genuinely impressive feat, so so so so fun, and it featured all twenty dancers! Another one I practically remember by heart. Megan Quote This is the best thing NappyTabs has ever choreographed. And I'm including the other routines of theirs from this very season on this list. This is their best choreography. This is also probably the best Top 20 group performance I can think of off the top of my head. Rei Quote Iconic! One of the greatest group routines ever! Derek Quote I truly think this was a big moment for SYTYCD. I mean, obviously it helped win the Choreography Emmy again for NappyTabs and it also highlighted Jasmine’s absolute star power. But I think this was really original at the time. DWTS definitely copied this. Wallace Quote Ahh a group routine not from the earlier seasons that I fairly remember and loved! They do exist, y'all! hahaha but really, I loved this Top 20 group dance and it was so fun. I think this is the group routine I most remembered this season so if a group routine had to make it to the end, I'm glad it's this one. I love how they had a modern funky version of "Puttin' On The Ritz" ! This dance had such a fun big production feel and value to it. It kinda reminded me of something you would see on a Broadway production or an awards show! This just felt like more than a group routine. Such a fun and entertaining group routine! 6. Amy Yakima & Travis Wall - "Wicked Game" - (Contemporary by Travis Wall) Watch Here RANKINGS: Gigi - 1 Patryk - 2 Wallace - 5 Derek - 5 Rei - 8 Kriti - 14 Megan - 17 Zoey - 20 Avg. Score = 9.00 COMMENTS Gigi Quote Amy is my favorite dancer from this season and this is my favorite routine of hers. Wallace Quote This is such a beautiful Contemporary routine from Amy & Travis. It's one of Amy's best and biggest shining moments of the season, and it arguably could be her top shining moment, in fact! This was a beautiful routine that highlighted Amy's dancing, technique, emotion and performing so perfectly as a dancer. She poured her heart into how she performed this and her lines & technique is exquisite. I love all of the dancing Amy & Travis do together as well as side by side. My favorite part is where Travis picks Amy up by the arm and she leaps herself towards him. The song/routine is quite but packs a big punch! This is just absolutely stunning and outstanding. Derek Quote One of the most solid contemporary pieces ever on the show. No gimmicks, no outrageous tricks, no huge musical climax. Just connection and perfection. And speaking as someone who was in a contemporary dance company when this season aired, this piece made an impact beyond just the TV show. Damn you Travis lol Rei Quote Like or hate Amy, there is not denying that this was just outstanding! Kriti Quote ugh, this routine was obviously excellent but i saw travis's face and remembered he was a piece of shit :))))) it wouldn't be any higher even if he wasnt though, this was a STACKED season Megan Quote Only ranks above the Broadway because I really dislike the Broadway and this I feel completely MEH about! 5. Makenzie Dustman & Jakob Karr - "Too Darn Hot" - (Broadway by Spencer Liff) Watch Here RANKINGS: Rei - 4 Gigi - 5 Derek - 6 Patryk - 7 Kriti - 9 Megan - 12 Zoey - 12 Wallace - 15 Avg. Score = 8.75 COMMENTS Rei Quote I never thought this would rank this high but I am very happy. One of my favourite broadways ever. Love this!!!!! Derek Quote Jakob is probably my favorite male dancer ever, so any time seeing him is a treat by default. I always pretend that I’m not a Makenzie stan but then when I do my rewatches I never skip any of her routines lol. And honestly we needed much more Makenzie representation here in the finals. The red shoe scuff on the floor is iconic!!! The chair throw is iconic!!! Makenzie locking eyes with the camera after their insane across-the-floor unison!!! Love love love love Kriti Quote this was one of the only times makenzie got to display her strengths because a lot of the stuff she and paul danced was just samey contemporary/waltzes/"hip-hop". her two jazz routines and this were the places she truly shone and got to really put her acting skills to use Megan Quote One of the best things about the Kiss Me Kate movie did was moving "Too Darn Hot" and changing it from an ensemble number to an Ann Miller showcase. Makenzie is very good and Jakob is fantastic but sorry it's hard to match up to Ann Miller pulling off one glove and throwing it at a man while using the other glove to tie up her hair mid-dance and then proceeding to perform one of the best tap numbers in movie musical existence! They should have given Makenzie a fan. Wallace Quote I'm someone that liked/or wasn't too hot on Makenzie for most of her run. The reason for that is that I thought she had one of the easiest runs of her journey and I really wished she was challenged more. She had a number of Contemporary and Jazz routines and a Broadway routine. Then the dances where she was out of her genre - she had like a Jazz styled Hip-Hop and a Contemporary lite Viennese Waltz. Though all of that matters as I'm just judging it on this dance.... and yeah there's no denying this was a great and hot dance from Makenzie. This was a smokin' HOT dance. She danced this wonderfully with great lines and technique. She had some steamy chemistry with Jakob... and they both danced this so strong and well on a technical level. It's not really a groundbreaking dance for me, but I can get how and why others love this a ton. But at the same time my earlier comments could be why this didn't impress me because I know she would kill it.
FrogLenzen Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Makenzie sneaking into the Top 5, you love to see it! 1
FrogLenzen Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 My Top 4 is the Top 4 I don't think the contemporary will win, but beyond that I think any of the others could take it
totes4totes Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Truly trying to think if I’ve actually enjoyed a Broadway on this show after Benji/Donyelle in season 2 lolllll.
Erestor Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Too Darn Hot making it to top 5 is a pleasant surprise Wicked Game shoulda been in top 4 tho 1
