Not sure winning a show no one watched is going to have much of an effect but best of luck to her!

not expecting anything huge, but she'll be on the Billboard awards next week, it can't hurt, a few people might hear her name, her song will be out and it's catchy and radio friendly

now do you guys think this will get a season 2?

if Alexa ends up successful that could create hype for a second season.

Wow America reallly CAME THROUGH for Oklahoma's AleXa there! :omg: I'm happy for her as she's an amazing/entertaining performer and her song was reallly catchy! :bobo: I also like that we didn't have a predictable winner even though Allen Stone with his song would have been a worthy winner.

winning this show might actually help her career more than most of the others, she is radio ready

Yeah AleXa and her song was definitely the most radio ready song of the contest. I can see her doing well.

I saw the results and again... they change the system for the final, it was 15% jury 85% public so why you let the juries select someone from the other rounds but in the final round is 100% public? Don´t make sense so is obvious the top 3, congrats Alexa and I remember you the producer said in an interview they expected around 3 or 4 millions viewers so they didn´t expect a huge success, also the winning of Alexa could begin to people interesting in the contest for the future, for example Italy when they come back to eurovision in 2011 the ratings where so low but in 2015 they send Il Volo which is a very famous group and begin the interest last year with Maneskin was the higgest ratings and this year being the host country will be bigger.

PD: In eurovision Topic you had a link to watch the shows, if you can´t because you´re in the US try on Peacock, the shows will be at 3 PM ET

It's still jury +public.

Here the breakdown of the jury and public vote

Top jury vote got 105 point top public vote got 654 vote so that why I said it was public vote since nomatter what her jury rank AleXa winning base on public vote. She was mid rank in jury #4 of 10.

But 15% means almost nothing in total, the problem is in the first round was 50/50, later in the semifinals the favourite from the jury + 4 from only public, is so strange and i understand  why the people don´t get the voting system

Tomorrow is the final, my predictions are:

1st Washington (1st jury by a landside and 4th public)

2nd Oklahoma (4th jury 1st public)

3rd Kentucky (3rd jury 2nd public)

My prediction was right with the jury LOL and almost with the public, the problem i predicted washington to win because i was thinking with the 50/50 system

However some changes they have to make to the show

Yeah I am also reallly confused on why it was 50% jury/50% Audience vote all along but then it changed to 15% jury/85% public vote on the final? :dead: It's all so confusing. But eh I don't mind it as I did really like the winner so yay there, at least. :haha:

The final increased the viewers: 1.969 million viewers and 22.65% more than last week, is the second most watched show after the premiere

And Alexa get from the public 654 points but the max score you can get is (56 states and territories x 12 points= 672 so she was the most voted in at least 47 states and the rest at least top 3, INSANE

Watched late as usual. Glad Alexa won. With an audience that small, anything can happen.

Doubt it's back. Really doubt any celebs would try again. I wouldn't mind a second to see what they'd do to revamp it.

Parting shot - Michael Bolton hardly moved a muscle after he caught hold of the mic at the beginning of the first chorus - just a little arm flutter before that. Practically cadaverous up there.  Also, his song would have been better sung by Michael McDonald in the 90's.

looks like despite a radio deal  Alexa's song is ready to fall off the pop charts after a month.  kpop fans voted for her but they did not buy or stream the song much.
