It is more like LAUREN >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kenzie

And CAM >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Chris Blue

Seriously??? I think both of them are really good, no point in comparing TBH.

cam’s pitch, range, and ability to do runs is much better. Plus his tone is a lot more pleasing.

it wasn’t a shot at Chris, tbh. I think Cam has an unbelievable voice with so much control..

Agreed. Cam = Chris (at least as of right now).

Pitch...yes....range....no.

Chris has much more range than Cam. And he has a slightly better breath supprot than Cam(at least based off of the performances we've seen yet).

But I agree about Control, pitch, and runs. Cam beats him on these for sure.

That's your opinion bro, Chris won his season and I'm expecting Cam to win this season. For me they are equally great, no need to bring down Chris just to justify your support for Cam.

Prolonging this convo is pointless, your opinion won't change my opinion.

The thing is:

Lauren>>>Kenzie

Honestly, if all I have to base it on is that one live performance, a whole bunch of country singers >>>> Kenzie including Lauren for sure. Danielle, Chevel, Craig, Sundance, Adam, and probably more. The vocal talent is definitely there, but something is missing.

Yeah, I can't quite put my finger on it either.....but I think it is somewhere in the zip code of charisma....maybe.

I think you`ve said it yourself multiple times: Kenzie is not made for reality TV. Look at him at any of his off show performance. The guy is in control and as relaxed as he can be. He lets his voice cut through.

I don`t totally agree with you with the fact that many country singers on the show have done better than Kenzie, primarily because I just love his tone, and at the end of the day, got the job done singing live. That being said, yes, he needs to get more comfortable on that stage if he wants to win. Cam exudes confidence and comfort on the stage, probably because he already did something like this before. This is new to Kenzie.

Another thing, is that several country singers seem comfortable as hell with a guitar in their hands, even if they are just miming or just letting it hang there. Kenzie`s movements derive from the fact that he`s one of the rare country males that hasn`t performed with a guitar at all. And it`s probably his idea, since off the show he only plays when he`s doing a cover by himself, never in front of a crowd.

I normally like most country singers on The Voice, even the ones that IDF hated, but Kenzie is not among my favorites this season. I don't know about charisma, he seems charming in his own way. He's confident and competent enough on the stage and he has a good voice but something is definitely lacking.

I mentioned in the spoiler thread that he might be trying too hard to be perfect, and just thinking too much in general when he’s on stage.

He needs to loosen up. I think he still has next week to prove his winner status. If Cam outdoes him and gets the most hype again, then it`s a done deal for Blake.

Okay, noted. Changed my post.

I thought Kenzie was great in the Knockouts.

Not my thing, (you know that)..but very good.

But he was meh in the playoffs...but honestly, I think song choice plays such a huge role, and it wasn't great for the playoffs.

I also think the lack of performances doesn't allow us to get attached. It's such a short season..I mean..it's likely Kenzie and Cam will have..what..7 performances total on the show? Two of which are a duet..It's just not enough to get attached. And one or two bad song choices, and that really kills a contestant..

Cam is someone whom..vocally I am really really interested in, and actually really sad that we have so few performances.

I used charisma because he does not charm me into believing what he is selling.  Almost like crazy good Karaoke....compared to say Adam, CWB or Sundance who owned everything they sang.  JMO.

Adam Wakefield?

Maybe it's the mullet. :haha:

This is gonna be unpopular but he somewhat comes across as someone trying too hard. His performances didn't have the natural or authentic color to them. Maybe it's the stage, and he's not used to it. Rearranging "Red Dirt Road" like he did in the playoffs, didn't help his case IMO. CWB, Sundance, and even Hoot indeed owned and convincingly sold everything they sang.

On the other hand, if he gets a classic country ballad, maybe he'd finally have a convincing performance, not just a technically proficient one.

After that Kelly show interview with the coaches, it seems clear what TPTB wants to happen. They will probably push for Jordan to get the IS so the Team Blake votes will be split, and Kenzie can take the win. Kelly beating Blake with a country singer she blocked from him seems to be the storyline they want to push for this finale.

I hope Corey can throw a wrench in TPTB's plans, but I'm preparing myself for the incoming bus already.

I'm leaning towards Cam not being able to beat out Kenzie. But it is becoming clearer that they will be our top 2 this season. Just by going from Social Media reactions.

Here’s his cover of his PO song, casually sung from his couch. This is much better. I’d have him lose the blazer, throw a baseball cap on, stage a porch scene, and have him just sit and sing, just like he did here. This is who he is.

I really wonder why did TPTB took the guitar away from him. Will we be finally seeing this Kenzie next week...? Because apparently, Kelly told Blake that he should be excited for his next performance.

I caught a few minutes of his live with Pete, and he said he generally doesn’t perform with a guitar. I think he only does it when he’s jamming with friends.

I think it could be potentially something similar to Emma - being too in his head when performing. He's vocally super impressive even w/ that (or whatever else it may be), though.

This makes sense to me. His performances don't feel super authentic to me, as well. The Hoot sounded authentic in his performances, I agree.

Yeah, that could potentially make things even more awkward for him. However, it could also make him feel more "at home" on stage. I'm leaning toward him not taking his guitar on stage being a good thing, though.
